4 Special Details performed by fire personnel: : 18 Fire Inspections were completed for the month of September of which four have gone out of business. Otsuka is moving right along with several different plans that have been submitted and approved. We have had four different businesses that have requested fire inspections for a liquor license. Fire reports have been checked off every third day and backed up for September. September Fire Reports have been sent off to NIFRS and the State Fire Marshal s office to stay in compliant. We have had inquiries about Hydrant locations and Fire Protection Classifications from various insurance companies : Home school student came to Station #1 for a station tour : Spalding County Fire and Office of Homeland Security assisted with the Flu Shot / Point of Distribution exercise at the Spalding County Health Department : Sheriff s Department used back pad for training : Spalding County Fire Engines went to Spalding County Fair for public relations event : Fire Safety House Detail at Home Depot with other Public Safety Agencies : Engine 1 went to Volunteer Park to standby as first responders during football event : Fire Safety House Detail at Crescent Elementary for 44 kids total : Engine 6 and Squad 7 participated in driver s training : Chief Polk attended the Make Griffin Spalding Better Together planning committee : Chief Clark and Polk attended the staff meeting : Fire Safety House Detail at Crescent Elementary School : Week 8 CERT Training: Unit 3 & 4 Disaster Medical Operations at the Senior Center : Personnel assisted the Griffin Spalding County School System with the statewide fire drill at the county facilities : Chief West celebrated his 35 Year of Service to Spalding County. 5 : Station 1 personnel completed Monthly Report on Engine : Attended a meeting with Paul Beamon and Chuck Butler of Spalding EMS, Cynthia Tidwell of Health Department, Mitchell Cardell of Griffin Fire along with Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk regarding protocols with current virus and Ebola issues : Conducted a special scheduled fire drill for Spalding High due to the statewide fire drills and sent in all forms to Jim Smith of the school system : Engines 2, 6, and Squad 3 went to Jackson Road Elementary for Fire Safety House Detail : 44 Cowan Road Elementary students came to Headquarters station for Station Tour and went through the Fire Safety House : Worked with FEMA on a public safety survey : Engine 1 went to Volunteer Park to standby as first responders during football event : Engine 7 and Squad 7 went to Vaughn United Methodist Church for their fall festival : Volunteer Daniel Adams rode on Engine : Harold Williams attended Hazardous Materials Code Enforcement Class at Georgia Public Safety Training Center : Lt. White instructed CERT Class Week 6 Unit 6: CERT Organization and Unit 7: Disaster Psychology : Captain Bankston, Lt. Huggins, F/F Henley, F/F Scibetta attended an Acting Officer in Charge Class at the Welcome Center : Engine 1 went to Center Point Church for detail : Air Life presented a Landing Zone class at Headquarters station for fire personnel : Engine 2 Center Point Church Fire Safety Detail : Squad 3 and Engine 7 went to Volunteer Park Special Detail Unit. 6 : Fire Safety House Detail was held at First Baptist Church Day Care. 80 children total went through the Fire Safety House : Fire Safety House and Engine Detail at Moreland Road Elementary School for 350 students ages PreK to 2 nd grade. The firefighters also had lunch with students :2014: Staff meeting at 9 at Annex for 500/501/ : Week 7 CERT Training: Unit 8: Terrorism and CERT at the Senior Center : Meet with concerned citizen Kay Whitley about a neighbors Control Burn Violation : Fire Safety House Detail and Station Tour held at Headquarters station for Cub Scout Pack # : Fire Safety Detail at First United Methodist Church. 100 children total attended ages 2 to : Received an open records request for 1600 Williamson Road : Planning meeting with Brian of UGA - Griffin at 10:00 at Hqs : Open records request received for Lakes of Green Valley : Chief West, Deputy Chief Clark, Deputy Chief Polk and Bill Gay conducted interviews for Fire Marshal : Engine 1, Engine 2, Battalion 1, Squad 3, and Fire Safety House reported to 1 st United Methodist Church for Fire Safety Detail : Rising Starr Day Care Toured Headquarters and Fire Safety House. 24 children total ages 3 to : Public Safety Agency meeting at 10a at Welcome Center : Pike County Pre-K reported to Headquarters Station for Fire Safety Education using the Fire Safety House, Engine 1, and Engine 6 personnel. 96 total children and parents attended : Engine 2 reported to Stepping Stones for a friendly firefighter education presented to 98 special needs children. Expressway for Fire Safety Detail : Engine 4 went to Wildwood Baptist Church for a Friendly Firefighter Detail : Volunteer Daniel Adams rode along with Engine : Fire Safety House Detail at Carver Road Baptist Church for Fall Festival : Chief Clark brought new district map to 911 Center : Engine 6 and Fire Safety House went to Jordan Hill Elementary for Fire Safety Detail. 130 total children ages Prek and Kindergarten attended : GEMA Emergency Operations Class and WEBECO Presentation and Training at the Annex Meeting room for all Captains, Battalions, Deputy Chiefs, and Fire Chief : Harris Communications reported to Headquarters Station to update computers in the all Sherriff Department vehicles : Ed Westbrook of GEMA taught GEMA course: Emergency Operations Concepts and WEB EOC Class at Annex : Chief Clark and Chief Polk checked and installed smoke detectors at: 714 Tee Box, 716 Tee Box, 106 Violet Drive : Chief West, Batt-1, Eng-1 and 206 to Care Master for fire extinguisher safety class : Squad 7 assisted with Fire Safety House Detail at Headquarters Station : Engine 1 and Engine 7 went to A.Z. Jones drove Fire Safety House to detail at New Hope Church for Community Wellness Fall Festival at New Hope Baptist Church : Engine 5 and Battalion 1 went to Center Point Church to participate in special detail (Final Approach) : Melissa Jackson dropped off Halloween Candy to 911 Center to show our appreciation for all the dispatchers : Chief West, Engine 7, and Melissa Jackson attended the Annual Public Safety Trick or Treat Detail at Northgate Shopping Center : 27 Fire Inspections were completed in the month of October.
