Electric Fence Installation We can assist you with a new electric fence installation, an upgrade, extension or repair to an existing fence. We further offer a monthly maintenance plan on all our electric fences. An electric fence is a barrier that is made up of various metal components charged by an energizer - also known as the electric fence charger, the driving force behind an electric fence. The energizer passes current through wires of the fence. The energizer also monitors and points out any faults on an electric fence. We are proud to be one of the handful of accredited Stinger electric fence installers. All electric fences must be installed, operated and maintained in accordance with the South African electric fence laws. It is important that you choose a reputable company for your electric fence installation. Electric fence is your first line of defence, a pre-warning of an intrusion. 8 Electric Fence Compliance & COC What you should know Whether buying or selling a property with an electric fence, you are required by law to have an electric fence certificate of compliance (COC). The COC certifies that your electric fence complies with the law in accordance with SANS regulations and the Health and Safety Act and is valid for two years. As per Departement of Labour if your fence was erected before 2012 and you are selling your property you are required to have a COC. A valid Electric fence certificate of compliance needs be issued if you have had your energizer replaced or additions done to your fence. Did you know That you could be held liable if someone sustains an injured due to a non compliant electric fence. (This includes an intruder!) A certificate of compliance (COC) protects you against liability proving that your fence is within government regulations. 5

9 COMPANY PROFILE Our Simple Process Book an Inspection You can easily make a booking for an electric fence inspection on our online booking form. The duration of the inspection is dependent on the property size. Once our qualified electric Fence System Installer has inspected the fence he ascertains if the fence is compliant or not. Site Visit If your electric fence is compliant and no work is required a COC certificate will be issued at a cost of R If your electric fence is not compliant we will than issue a quotation to repair the fence to good standing, once we have completed the work at the agreed cost on the quote issued the client will then be eligible for a COC at the cost of R (PLEASE be aware of companies or independent contractors who perform work but are not registered or qualified to issue valid certificates). Submission of Certification The original COC is hand deliver to the party requested once payment has been confirmed. Please remember that the Electric Fence Certificate of compliance is proof that your fence is safe and compliant and that it is valid for a 2 year period, unless alterations have been done on the fence. Be Careful Electricians CANNOT issue this certification by default, unless registered with the Department of Labour in terms of this Legislation. If you have any doubts ask for the installer s Dept of Labour Electric Fence System Installers (EFSI) number and check it against the Depts list of valid EFSI s on their website. 6
