4 Integration full and flexible The IP gateway endless possibilities Designed to be easy to install and have maximum compatibility, whatever the nature of your building, Control 3 s DALI/IP gateway connects the IP world of computers to the DALI world of lighting. With up to 10 DALI loops, each gateway is able to control up to 640 luminaires and, with multiple gateway installations possible, the number of luminaires is limitless. Each ballast is given a unique address, allowing commands to be sent to that particular luminaire over a simple two wire bus. Every internet enabled device speaks TCP/IP and virtually all new office buildings have a TCP/IP network in place. 4 Integration the flexibility doesn t end with DALI With a digital input module, switches, movement detectors and timers can all be connected and, using an analogue input, light sensors, rotary dimmers and sliders can all enhance your work environment. 5 Installation swift and simple With simple ethernet sockets and connections for your DALI loops, switches and light sensors ready to connect, installation couldn t be simpler Even the server can be sent as a sealed dedicated unit. Every design issue is addressable and, for a really quick installation, Control 3 is compatible with our passive luminaire connection modules (LCM) which allow up to twelve pre-wired luminaires to be connected per unit. The technical bit * The software is the part that brings all the components together and that which sets Control 3 apart from other systems. The core system is based around a powerful visualisation tool that allows for both building-wide and individual luminaire control. How it works: By maintaining a database of every luminaire and its position on each DALI loop, the Control 3 software allows you to have precise control across your network. 6 Preventing energy wastage Control 3 offers three ways to prevent energy and cost wastage. Each is carefully designed and commissioned to fit exactly with the characteristics of your building and to be completely user friendly. Daylight detection During the hours of daylight, many buildings require little or no artificial light. The reality, however, is that most buildings are lit throughout the day. Control 3 incorporates daylight detection technology and, linking in the geometry of your building, intelligently adjusts the output of every luminaire to maintain the desired working light level. Remarkably, in many cases, this can be achieved with a single sensor for an entire building. Absence recognition Unlike other systems which simply switch the lights on when somebody enters the room, Control 3 s absence recognition technology actually knows when a room has been vacated. The lights are only turned on when somebody enters and switches them on and then discreetly extinguished when no longer needed ensuring that no energy is wasted. 6 Scheduled switching Through intelligent use of a scheduled switching system, your building can be made to feel more welcoming as well as reducing its energy usage.

7 Keeping the lights on when you need them Once your Control 3 system is up and running, that s the way you want it to stay. The system incorporates a series of powerful tools to ensure that you are always in control. Power monitoring If you know exactly where your building is using energy, it s much easier to use it more efficiently Control 3 produces reports of energy usage at different points in your building, from individual luminaires to the entire complex a requirement of Part L. Instant failure reporting Control 3 automatically tests your entire lighting system for defects every thirty minutes. Should a fault be detected, whether a lamp failure, ballast malfunction or wiring fault, a notification is immediately sent to the system administrator by or SMS. Emergency lighting In times of power failure, it is essential that you have confidence in your emergency lighting provisions. Control 3 makes testing and recording both quick and trouble free in accordance with BS Each emergency luminaire, as well as its mains counterpart, has its own unique system address and can be programmed to perform self-test procedures at times of low risk. Should any unit fail, it is listed immediately as a problem and the system can even be set to send notification by or SMS. Compliance, convenience and re-assurance 7
