The design and development of Halton s Vita Iso solutions stem from our passion for facilitating wellbeing. Pressure control is a critical factor when managing patient isolation in situations requiring high protection or infection control, and Halton Vita Iso solutions are designed to provide increased safety and comfort for patients and staff in demanding environments. 2

The Iso system can maintain either a positive pressure for a protective environment (PE) or negative pressure for airborne infection isolation (AII). The system allows staff to select the desired operating mode. Cleaning and reminders The Halton Vita Iso system has an easy-to-use service operation mode for room cleaning, and additional automated system checking can be integrated into the Iso system as required. 3

4 Supervision Supervisory station for nurses. The daily control and monitoring of rooms in an isolation department is made easy with a local nurse station unit, which displays real-time room conditions. The touch screen local nurse supervisory station gives an overall view of the operation mode, pressure level, door position and common status of alarms for a group of isolation rooms. Operation modes can also be changed from the device. The information provided for each isolation room includes: Operational pressure modes: negative positive neutral service. Common alarm status Specified alarm status: pressure level airflow rate temperature door open position drop in filter pressure. Measurement values: room pressure difference airflow rates room temperature drop in HEPA-filter pressure. 4

6 Alarm Systems Alarms ensure safety. All of the Halton Vita Iso system s environmental alarms work with the same logic; an alarm is triggered when the environmental parameters either exceed or go below the set limits. The most commonly used Halton Vita Iso alarms are: 1. pressure alarms for both ante and patient rooms 2. airflow alarns for both ante and patient rooms 3. room and supply air temperature alarms 4. HEPA-filter alarm 5. door alarm. 6

7 Halton Vita Iso solutions allow staff to monitor all doors and react to each specific alarm. In general, a door alarm is given when a door remains open after a predefined period, with all doors having their own defined period and alarms. Each alarm is indicated locally using a pressure monitor, traffic light panel or alarm panel. Alarms can also be automatically transmitted to local nurse station and remotely located building management system. Alarms are categorised as one of three importance levels: high importance alarm safety alarm service alarm. Monitors and panels The Halton Vita Iso solution monitor and alarm panels are designed to indicate the operation status of each room in an easily comprehensible way, to facilitate comfort and safety for patients and staff. A pressure monitor panel is installed in the corridor to indicate the operation status of the door a red symbol indicates an activated alarm. The pressure monitor can also be configured to display: the operation mode: isolation, protection, neutral, service pressure level in Pa door open status. A traffic light panel is installed in the ante room to indicate whether the conditions in the patient room are satisfactory. An alarm panel is installed in the patient room to indicate the room conditions; the alarm panel also features a reset button to allow staff to easily reset the acoustic alarm. 7
