6 Minutes of Meeting Technical Committee on Emergency Medical Services NFPA 450 Second Draft Meeting August 12 th, 2015 Conference Call/ Adobe Connect August 12 th, 2015 Members Present Kenneth Knipper- Chair Aarron Reinert- Acting Chair Ken Holland-NFPA Staff David Bradley Timothy Donovan Coleman Figg Heather Fredenburg Richard MacKinnon David Harris Kevin McGee Marc Nason Rick Patrick Karen Picard David Simmons David Tan The Second Draft meeting on NFPA 450, Guide for Emergency Medical Services and Systems was held by conference call/adobe Connect on August 12 th, Present were Chairman Kenneth Knipper, Acting Chair Aarron Reinert, NFPA Staff Liaison Ken Holland and members of the Technical Committee. At 9:00 AM the meeting was called to order by Acting Chairman Reinert followed by an introduction and roll-call of all Committee Members. Minutes of the prior meeting were approved as written. Ken Holland, NFPA Staff Liaison, presented to the Technical Committee an overview of the NFPA process for the Second Draft, as well as NFPA 450 revision cycle timeline. The committee began reviewing the three submitted public comments, reviewing the entire document, and developed second revisions to be submitted for ballot of the entire committee. Page 6 of 7
7 Once the committee completed their work relating to the revision of NFPA 450, they began to discuss the new project request for a guide for fire based community healthcare provider. The discussion focused on developing a plan on how to begin drafting the document, where and when to meet to have the first of several draft development meetings, how to work with the Fire Protection Research Foundation (FPRF) and the code fund project they are developing for the committee, and potential participants who are not on the committee. The committee did not develop any draft text at this meeting as it was agreed upon that it should be done either in task group work ahead of our next meeting or not until that meeting. NFPA Staff will provide the committee with a draft document template to assist the committee with developing a draft document. Various options, dates and locations, were discussed as to when and where the next meeting should occur. Some dates in October and November, 2015 and January 2016 were discussed and it seemed the committee settled on the January 2016 date. Possible locations of Las Vegas and Florida were also discussed. More work on this will come as No new or old business to report on. Motion to adjourn followed and approved by the committee. Page 7 of 7
