He has extensive experience in leading inspection teams at commercial nuclear power plants in the areas of fire protection, engineering, and operations. As such, Mr. Langstaff has considerable experience with inspections and review of fire protection systems, engineering calculations, and operating procedures. His responsibilities included presenting team inspection findings to senior utility management and documenting those findings in public reports. His expertise includes fire modeling (using CFAST and FDS) and probabilistic risk assessment in addition to mechanical and fire protection engineering. As a forensic engineer, Mr. Langstaff has been involved with numerous fire loss, water loss, and mechanical failure investigations.
