Constant Pressure Controls (VFDs) In constant control pressure applications, a pressure transducer is mounted at the pump discharge and is wired to the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). In Automatic Mode, the drive will run the pump and continuously make speed adjustments until the Pressure Feedback = Set Pressure (Target Pressure). The VFD uses P.I. (Proportional + Integral) control to calculate the required speed corrections as the feedback pressure drops or rises above the set pressure. In no-flow conditions, the Drive will reduce the pump speed to the "minimum speed setting" and it will eventually go into a "sleep mode" (pump stop). Upon a pressure drop below the "start pressure" the Drive will "wake up" and run the pump again. 14 SP6R Level Controller Microprocessor-based level controller monitors any 4-20 ma signal. It has six programmable relay outputs for control and alarm. The transducer zero and span are fully configurable. A simulation mode allows use to test the set points and relay operation. Configurable level measuring range. Each controller features six programmable set points, a 20 segment scalable bar graph, an avionics-grade LED display, and an on board keypad for easy navigation through the configuration. Each controller can be configured for pump up or pump down applications. It monitors pump run, pump seal failure, and pump over temperature status. Built-in alternator, run time meters, cycle counter and a level simulator. I am including it in all of my commercial designs and specifications for large scale rainwater harvesting systems.
