2 RESOLUTON MSC.39(63) ADOTON OF AMENDMENTS TO THE CODE ON ALARMS AND NDCATORS MSC 63/23/Add.1 RESOLUTON MSC.39(63) ADOTON OF AMENDMENTS TO THE CODE ON ALARMS AND NDCATORS THE MARTME SAFETY COMMTTEE, RECALLNG Article 28(b) of the Convention on the nternational Maritime Organization concerning the functions of the Committee, RECALLNG ALSO that the Assembly, at its seventeenth session, when adopting resolution A.686(17) on the Code on alarms and indicators, authorized the Committee to amend or extend the Code as may be necessary, RECOGNZNG the need for extension of the above Code to cover the Code for the Construction and Equipment of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units, 1989 (1989 MODU Code) and the Code of Safety for Diving Systems, with a view to ensuring their uniform application, HAVNG CONSDERED at its sixty-third session the text of proposed amendments to the Code on alarms and indicators, developed by the Sub-Committee on Ship Design and Equipment, 1. ADOTS amendments to the Code on alarms and indicators, the text of which is set out in the Annex to the present resolution; 2. RECOMMENDS Governments to take appropriate steps to give effect to the said amendments. W/1649n/EW
