4 New EN standards for Firefighters 2 new standards published in December 2014 EN 16471: Helmets for Wildland fire-fighting EN 16473: Helmets for Technical Rescue Scope of the standards Wildland Fire Fighting Protection of the upper head mainly against the effects of impact, penetration, heat, flame and burning embers while conducting fire fighting and associated activities (e.g. wood cutting) in wildland environments Technical Rescue Protection of the upper head mainly against the effects of mechanical hazards such as impact and penetration, flame, electrical and chemical hazards during operations such as but not limited to: - Road traffic collisions, railway incidents (e.g. extrication) - Working in and around collapsed structures - Natural disasters (flood, earthquakes, etc.) - Accidents with hazardous materials (e.g. use under a chemical protective suit) - First aid/ambulance operations, law enforcement - High angle rescue 4

12 Important Product Information EN397 Version production is phased out From January 1st 2016, it will no longer be possible to order F2 XTREM helmets meeting the EN397 standards (was less than 1% of volume) Performance requirements in the new EN standards match or exceed the performance requirements of EN397 (impact, penetration, electrical, lateral deformation). Mesh Visor shall not be used for fire-fighting applications This accessory does not meet flame requirements of EN16471 It cannot be used for fire interventions This information will be specified in the F2 X-TREM instruction manual Metal badge and metal lamp bracket are no longer available These options are no longer available since they do not pass the new electrical EN requirements. 12 Customization Qualitative printing of drawing or text on stickers. 16 Upcoming Changes on F2 X-TREM New Tooling F2 X-TREM current injection mold is very old. It needs to be replaced in 2016 Very minor design changes to optimize process and performance Part numbers will not change Planning From July 2016 orders will be delivered with shells out of the new mold Specific information Meet EN16471 & EN16473 requirements 99% identical shell design approved in VOC. No other change. Lamp bracket will become an optional component (as in the past) 16 Revision of other marketing materials will be provided.
