1 RX / QX V4.51 and PX V5.00 UTC Climate, Controls and Security Systems is pleased to announce the release of Version 4.51 for the RX / QX (Grade 2) control panels, and Version 5.00 for the PX (Grade 3) Control Panels. This is as a result of the new PD6662:2010 Standards requirements. This bulletin contains important information about the panel hardware that can support Version 5.00 for the PX range, and Version 4.51 for the RX / QX range. Grade 2 Panels Grade 2 Panels (RX / QX) only need a firmware change to meet the new requirements. There is no change in hardware, or to any of the part numbers. The RX / QX released version for conformance is V4.51 Grade 3 Panels Grade 3 Panels (PX) have a PCB hardware change, and firmware change. The hardware change is as a result of changes to EN :2008, affecting the PSU. New part numbers (shown on page 2) have been created for the Grade 3 panels, which will replace the current part numbers. The PX released version for conformance is V5.00 3A Smart Concentrator The 3A Smart Concentrator also has PCB hardware, and firmware changes. New part numbers (shown on page 2) have been created, which will replace the current Part numbers. The Smart Concentrator released version for conformance is V5.00 GSR Guardstation Remote software (GSR) has also been upgraded. The GSR version to support the new Control Panels is V4.51. GSR V4.51 supports RX / QX V4.51 Panels and the new PX V5.00 Panels, as well as legacy Panels back as far as V3.00 Also detailed on the following pages is a summary of the main changes, part numbers, and more detailed information on the firmware changes.

3 Summary of Changes to Firmware Shown below is a brief summary of the changes that have been made to RX / QX V4.51 and PX V5.00 Please be aware that this Technical Bulletin is only intended as a brief summary. Please refer to the RX/QX/PX Issue G Engineering Manual, for full details of the new configuration menus. o Changes made to comply with PD6662:2010 o Changes made to comply with EN :2008 The Grade 3 Panels (PX48i, PX80i, PX500 and PX250HS) and the 3A Smart Concentrator have been changed to meet the new hardware requirements. A Failed Power Unit on Grade 3 products is now detected by monitoring the Aux current of the 14V Regulator (with Mains supply present) rather than the System current. An abnormally low Aux current on the Panel or 3A Smart Concentrator will now generate a Power Out Fault message (within 10 seconds of the fault occurring), and will activate the Fault output. Note The Power Unit is defined as the combination of the 14V Power Output and the Battery Charging Circuit. Low Output Voltage of the 14V Regulator (ie less than 11.4V DC with Mains supply present) will now generate a Low Out Voltage message (within 10 seconds of the fault occurring) and will activate the Fault output. Battery Testing on Grade 3 products is now performed under load conditions (with Mains supply present), using a load equivalent to the specified rated load for the product. Overvoltage protection on Grade 3 products has been added, and is set to 18.4 Volts. This ensures protection of the peripherals from excessive voltage, due to regulator failure. o Changes made to comply with BS8243:2010: Sounder warning is now given upon deviating from the Entry Route during the Unsetting process. Changes to operation, to meet the new requirements for PA Confirmation. A new PA Ver Time feature has been added, in the 14=Verify menu. This defines the timer for confirmed PA events, and is configurable between 8 20 hours (8 hours default).

4 The Verify channel is now used for confirmation of Intruder and/or PA events. An initial PA alarm will activate TX Channel 2. A second (confirmed) PA alarm will activate TX Channel 7. The PA Circuit Verify attribute now allows contribution towards a confirmed PA event. New Guardall, SIA and Point ID event codes have been added for confirmed PA events. A PA Circuit that remains active for longer than the PA Verify timer will be automatically inhibited, and this will be notified to the ARC. Line Fault and Tamper conditions can now contribute towards a confirmed PA Alarm. The PA/Duress Channel (which was previously combined) has now been separated into separate PA and Duress event channels, to meet the new ACPO requirements. The Set Group default Setting method is now set at 000 (Unlimited) - to allow Contact or Pushbutton setting, as Timed Setting is no longer allowed under the new requirements. Activation of just one non-er Circuit during entry can contribute towards a confirmed alarm in some circumstances (it was previously two non-er activations, only after Entry timeout). Remote notification of a confirmed non-er alarm during Entry requires a 30 second notification delay to have expired and the entry timer to have expired before the signal can be sent to the ARC. Please refer to BS8243:2010 for more information. Operation of the Verify attribute for a Final Exit circuit has been modified. This is now defaulted on to meet the new Entry Alarm requirements. A Level 1 alert is now given on the Keypad if any events require further action, such as a User and/or Engineer Reset being required. The Keypad will display KP Message to indicate this, and further details of the fault will be given when a User logs on to the Keypad. Changes to the Panel defaults to meet the new requirements, and to simplify configuration. Changes to the Basic Edit menu and default settings, to simplify configuration.

5 A new Reset feature has been added in the 20=System\05=Sys Opts menu. This allows simpler User Resetting by performing an Automatic Reset, when a User presses the X key after viewing logged events. A new Duress feature has been added in the Sys Opts menu, to allow Duress capability to be enabled or disabled (defaulted off for ACPO compliance). New Duress +/-1 features have been added in the Sys Opts menu, to allow User PIN variance to give a Duress alarm (defaulted off for ACPO compliance). A new BS8243/DD243 attribute has been added, in the 20=System\05=Sys Opts menu. It is normally enabled, but can be disabled to hide some of the attributes within the 14=Verify menu. If disabled, then the PA Ver Time, Tamper, Line Fault, Entry Cancel, Strobe, Eng Rst, Entry ACE and ER No Conf menus will not be available. The Tx Reset attribute in the 20=System\07=Reset menu has been modified. The DD243 choice has been renamed BS8243/DD243 to reflect changes, and the PA Channel now clears upon Reset, and no longer upon User Log on. The Fault attribute in the Sys Opts menu has been removed, to meet the new requirements. This previously allowed a tamper condition to be processed as a Fault condition instead, but is no longer appropriate under the new requirements. Removed IMQ Mains Fail delay limit (on Italian Panel variants). Other Firmware changes and issues addressed RX16i now offers 4 Set Groups. Added support for Inovonics Echo Stream Door/Window Transmitter EE1215W. A new Tam. Disable feature has been added to disable tamper control of external Guardall Diallers (in 13=Module\4=Ext. Dlr menu). This can help resolve problems where a Dialler Tamper condition may occasionally occur, when using Guardall GSM/DualComm Modules in regions of poor network coverage. Translation change - Added German language (on UK Panel variants). Translation Change - Removed German language (on Italian Panel variants). Set Group status was incorrectly shown for grade 3 systems (on Italian Panel variants).

6 An unused Panel input circuit that was subsequently added but in a Tamper condition did not respond correctly until the Circuit was activated. Panel Software Error 30(2) error occurred, when changing GSR HS Encrypt feature. The Scheduled Unset Option did not Unset the PXHS Panel at the Open 1 time. The Set System option in the Sounder menu did not work correctly, as the sounder still activated when the system was part set. On Systems with multiple Radio Modules and/or repeaters, Radio Circuits were sometimes reported as being in Alarm when trying to Set. Change to operation of the Dialler Speech Ack feature when reporting Speech messages via the Speech Module. The control panel will now dial all programmed primary numbers, and not record a Comm Fail message for any numbers that are not acknowledged. Inovonics 1215 Radio Transmitters did not show Text correctly when in Radio Identify menu. A Tamper condition on an XIB Detector sometimes could not be Reset. The 8 digit Contract Number displayed when an Engineer Reset is required was only displaying the first 7 Digits. The Set Display feature on Grade 2 Systems was incorrectly displaying Set Groups for the System, rather than the Set Groups that the Keypad had authority over. The Output Link feature should have allowed up to 10 Output Fns per link to be used, but only the first 8 Outputs in the link worked. XiB Detector information shown on Keypad was wrong for Circuits above 255. A Confirmed PA Alarm was incorrectly activating the Strobe. Access Cards configured with an Expiry Date were not deleted from configured Access Control Modules when the date expired. Cesa Alarm protocol reporting problem now resolved (on French Panel variants). The System ER-SG Link feature was not previously working as documented in the Engineering Manual, and this issue has now been corrected.
