1 Fire Chiefs, Greetings from the South Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal. Our Community Risk Reduction team is distributing this monthly SC Fire Incident Reporting System (SCFIRS) report to keep you up-to-date regarding how your incident data is being used and the benefits of consistent reporting. We also hope to encourage and increase the number of fire departments participating in the system. This report will inform and support fire departments throughout our state. Additionally, this will be an ongoing statewide collaboration between fire departments, the Division of Fire and Life Safety and other associated agencies. Your data, received monthly, allows the fire service at any governmental level to analyze the fire problem in our state and find patterns that will aid in future fire prevention efforts. Thank you for your continued participation, SCFIRS Team Community Risk Reduction Division of Fire and Life Safety 7/1/213 1
