1 PART 1 GNRAL 1.1. APPLICABL PROVISIONS A. The General, Supplementary and other Conditions of the Contract, modifications to the General Conditions, the Drawings, and the applicable provisions of the other Divisions are hereby made a part of this Division and all its sections SUMMARY A. The requirements of this Section and the other Division 26, 27 & 28 Sections apply to all the video surveillance system work. B. Coordinate video surveillance system work with related work shown and specified elsewhere. C. Provide equipment, devices and all necessary accessories for a complete and operational video surveillance system. Provide all materials necessary for the proper execution and completion of the Work. Required items not specifically mentioned in the specifications or indicated on the drawings shall be provided as necessary to produce the intended results. D. The Contractor shall perform all the work required (including the furnishing of all supervision, labor, services, tools, materials and equipment and the performance of all operations and incidentals necessary) for a complete, safe and reliable video surveillance system installation, adjusted, tested and ready for operation. The work is generally described as follows: 1. Video surveillance system, including digital video recorder, controllers, cameras & enclosures, cabling infrastructure, mounting hardware, equipment racks, thernet electronic equipment and associated jumper cables. 2. Provide a stand-alone system in each of the 4 buildings in the project SUBMITTALS A. Submit complete documentation for the video surveillance system equipment, devices, materials, etc. showing the model number, type, rating, size, style, manufacturer's names, and manufacturer's catalog data sheets for all items. Include data on features, rating, and performance. B. Submittals shall include complete video surveillance system riser and wiring diagrams, plan drawings, etc. (Note: The contract drawings on disc in AutoCAD 2010 format will be available from the ngineer if desired.). Include dimensioned plan and elevation views, diagrams, and other details of components as appropriate. C. If requested by the Owner, provide samples of materials for evaluation

2 1.4. QUALITY ASSURANC A. Video surveillance system shall be installed by, or under the direct supervision of, a qualified representative of the manufacturer. Contractor and Contractor's personnel shall be experienced, thoroughly trained and completely familiar with video surveillance systems and the required methods of installation. B. Programming, testing, etc. shall be by a qualified representative of the manufacturer RCORD DOCUMNTS A. Submit "as-built" record drawings and operation and maintenance manuals at completion of the project in accordance with the specific submittal requirements listed elsewhere in these Specifications. B. Provide as-built documentation consistent with the contract documents as required, in AutoCAD 2010.dwg files with as-built notations for all sheets. (Consultant/ngineer will provide construction drawings AutoCAD files to contractor.) PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1. A. Network video recorder (NVR) shall be shall be a 32 channel, rack mounted video surveillance control and recording system with 16 integral Po ports. Provide with all necessary license feed, software, programming, setup, etc. as required for a fully operational system. NVR shall have sufficient hard drive capacity to store 96 hours worth of video from all connected cameras. NVR shall be ACTi model NR-180P, or approved equal. B. Indoor cameras shall be vari-focal type, 60 fps at HD resolution (720p), Po powered, network enabled cameras, with integrated mini dome enclosure. Cameras shall be ACTi model 66A, or approved equal. C. Outdoor cameras shall be vari-focal type, 60 fps at HD resolution (720p), Po powered, network enabled cameras, with integrated weatherproof mini dome enclosure. Cameras shall be ACTi model 88, or approved equal WIR AND CABL A. All wire and cable installed in below grade raceways shall be suitable for wet locations. B. Surveillance system thernet station cable shall be 4 pairs, twisted, #24 AWG solid copper, nominal 100 ohm, nhanced Category 5 UTP (unshielded twisted pair) cable. Cable shall be tested and certified by the manufacturer at up to 350 MHz and shall provide positive ACR beyond 200 MHz. Cable shall support ANSI X3.263 (100 Mbps), ATM (155 and 622 Mbs), and I Base-T (Gigabit thernet). Cable shall conform to or exceed ANSI/TIA/IA

3 568-B.2, nhanced Category 5 cabling requirements and ISO/IC dition 2.0 (Class D) cabling requirements. Additionally, the cable shall meet or exceed all the following performance MHz 1. Maximum Attenuation (db/100m): Minimum NXT (db): Minimum PSNXT (db): Minimum LFXT (db): Minimum PSLFXT (db): Minimum RL (db): Minimum ACR (db): Minimum PSACR (db): Cable shall consist of 4 insulated conductor pairs, standard round design, with an overall jacket. Cable shall not utilize bonded pairs. Jacket shall be white. 10. All wire and cable installed in below grade raceways shall be suitable for wet locations. C. Increase cable sizes if/as required to compensate for voltage drop. D. All concealed power limited systems cable may be run open in accessible ceilings; except, where indicated otherwise and where penetrating through ceilings, floors, walls, draft-stops, etc CABL TRMINATION HARDWAR A. CAT5e cable shall be directly connectorized and plugged into the Network Video recorder Po ports. PART 3 - XCUTION 3.1. INSTALLATION A. Installation of the video surveillance system and its components shall be done by, or under the direct supervision of, a factory trained authorized representative of the manufacturer WIRS AND CABLS A. Inspect cable prior to installation to verify that it is identified properly on the reel or box identification label and that it is of proper gauge, containing correct number of pairs, etc. Note any buckling of the jacket which would indicate possible problems. Damaged cable or any other components failing to meet specification shall not be used in the installation

4 B. All concealed power limited systems cable may be run open in accessible ceilings; except, where indicated otherwise and where penetrating through ceilings, floors, walls, draft-stops, etc. C. "Open" cables shall be bundled and supported from permanent structural members of the building, either directly or indirectly, with suitable hooks. Support spacing shall not exceed 5 feet. Protect open cables during installation in ceiling spaces. Cables shall not interfere with the removal of pipes or equipment for maintenance or repair. All "open" cable shall be kept a minimum of 6 inches from pipes, ducts, and other items producing heat. Support open cables a minimum of 6 inches above T-bar ceilings. Tape and cable ties are not approved methods of fastening cables. D. Floor and ceiling penetrations by open cables will not be allowed. Provide conduit sleeves, minimum 1" MT, as required plus a spare (with fire and dust stopping and sealing) where open cable passes through floors, walls, partitions, etc.. thernet Cable Testing: 1. All thernet cables shall be tested in accordance with the permanent link configuration as defined in ANSI/TIA/IA 568-B.1. The entire link (termination hardware, jacks, cables, etc.) shall pass all tests to ANSI/TIA/IA nhanced Category 5 specifications and ISO/IC Class D parameters, at up to 90 meters in length. 2. ach wire/pair shall be tested for, minimum: a. Wiremap (polarity, pair reversals, continuity, shorts and grounds); b. Cable length (record all lengths); c. NXT (near end cross talk); d. PSNXT (power sum NXT); e. LFXT (equal level far end cross talk); f. PSLFXT (power sum LFXT); g. Attenuation; h. ACR (attenuation/cross-talk ratio); i. PSACR (power sum ACR); j. Return Loss

Test procedures shall be based on ANSI/TIA/IA 568-B.1 and ANSI/TIA/IA 568-B.2 utilizing a commercial UTP cable tester that meets or exceeds the specified accuracy requirements defined as Level IIe for use with Category 5e and Class D cabling systems. ach tester shall be certified as calibrated within three (3) months of testing. F. Cable shall be unrolled from reels, or removed from cartons, and installed in a manner which will prevent kinking, crushing or excessive tension on conductors and insulation. Slack wire shall be provided at all pull points. G. Cable shall be installed or drawn into the raceway system only after all work of any nature that might cause injury to the cable is completed. The raceway systems shall be complete (including the installation of bushings, grommets, etc.), snaked and cleaned, and approval of the installation is obtained from the Owner and ngineer, before pulling any cable. H. Cable pulling lubricants shall be used to minimize pulling stresses on cable pulled into raceways. I. Replace or rework cables showing evidence of improper handling including stretches, kinks, short radius bends, and over tightened bindings LOCATIONS A. Prior to rough-in, the Contractor shall mark or otherwise show the location of all cameras, equipment and devices, and the proposed routing of raceways. Obtain specific approval for the location of each from the Owner, Architect and ngineer before rough-in and installation TSTING A. Testing of the video surveillance system shall be done by a qualified representative of the manufacturer; who, after completion, shall submit a letter that he has tested the system and found it acceptable in all respects TRAINING, INSTRUCTION AND ASSISTANC A. After the installation is complete and operating, and prior to acceptance of the work, conduct instruction period(s) at the site, to point out locations of service and maintenance, and instruct the Owner's representatives in the operation of all systems and equipment. B. The person(s) who conduct these instructions and demonstrations shall be a qualified representative of the manufacturer with substantial training and operating experience on this equipment and project. Their qualifications shall be submitted to the Owner before conducting the instruction period

6 C. ach period shall include preliminary discussion and presentation of information using the actual maintenance manuals required for this project. Contractor shall notify Owner at least 48 hours in advance of readiness to conduct the instruction period. The actual time and date of instruction period shall be acceptable to the Owner and the Contractor. nd of Section

7 FIR ALARM SYSTM PART 1 GNRAL APPLICABL PROVISIONS A. The General, Supplementary and other Conditions of the Contract, modifications to the General Conditions, the Drawings, and the applicable provisions of the other Divisions are hereby made a part of this Division and all its sections SUMMARY A. The requirements of this Section and the other Division 26, 27 & 28 Sections apply to all the fire detection and alarm system work. B. Coordinate fire detection and alarm system work with related work shown and specified elsewhere. C. The Work includes the following: 1. Replacement and expansion of residential interconnected smoke detectors in all hearing building with combination smoke/co detectors with strobe accessory. D. In the event that any item is not available exactly as specified, the Contractor shall so notify the Owner in writing as early as possible to allow ample time for an alternate item to be selected without delay to the project SUBMITTALS A. Submit complete documentation for the fire alarm system equipment, devices, materials, etc. showing the model number, type, rating, size, style, manufacturer's names, and manufacturer's catalog data sheets for all items. Include data on features, rating, and performance RCORD DOCUMNTS A. Submit "as-built" record drawings and operation and maintenance manuals at completion of the project in accordance with the specific submittal requirements listed elsewhere in these Specifications. B. Provide as-built documentation consistent with the contract documents as required, in AutoCAD 2010.dwg files with as-built notations for all sheets. 8 PART 2 - PRODUCTS DVICS & DTCTORS A. Combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for use in apartment units shall be hardwired, 120V, interconnected, with ionization type detection, carbon monoxide detection, a 10 year sealed lithium ion battery, and push to test button. PART 3 - XCUTION LOCATIONS A. Locations and mounting heights of equipment, devices, etc. shall be consistent, and in accordance with the requirements of NFPA, ADA and the authority having jurisdiction. B. Unless noted or indicated otherwise, smoke and heat detectors shall be ceiling mounted. In sloped ceiling areas, detectors shall be located within 3 feet of the peak, measured horizontally. C. Wall mounted smoke and heat detectors shall be located between 4 inches and 12 inches down from the ceiling to the top of the detector TSTING A.
