4 Operation Guide Environ 3 Infrared Remote Transmitter PRODUCT OVERVIEW Infrared Remote Transmitter Overview The Environ 3 Infrared Remote is used to remotely control Environ 3 Control Stations over an unobstructed range of approximately 75 feet. 5-Preset Environ 3 stations have an integrated infrared (IR) receiver that allows them to receive IR commands from the Infrared Remote. Environ 3 IR Receivers (available in wall or ceiling mount) may also be connected to Master Control Stations with A/V inputs to provide IR functionality. (Refer to the Environ 3 IR Receivers Manual.) Using the IR Remote, presets can be selected, raised and lowered, and lighting may be turned On and Off. The IR Remote is capable of controlling up to four different Environ 3 Control Station groups (rooms). 5 Environ 3 Infrared Remote Transmitter Operation Guide OPERATION Enabling Keypads to Receive IR Signals A wall keypad must be enabled in order to receive the IR signal from the IR Remote. To enable the keypad, do the following: Step 1. At keypad, press and hold A and D buttons for 3 seconds. A, B, C, D and OFF keys will illuminate with one of them blinking. Button A refers to the keypad being configured as Room 1, B to Room 2, C to Room 3, and D to Room 4. If OFF is blinking, IR is disabled. (Refer to the drawing at right.) The factory default is Room 1 (A). Step 2. Press desired Room (A, B, C, or D) or OFF. This will configure the keypad as that room or disable IR input. The selection will blink. Step 3. Press ON to Save and Exit. A-D (Room) Buttons Using the Infrared Remote Transmitter The Environ 3 Infrared Remote can operate in all four Room modes. On the IR Remote, you must first press a Room button to place it in that mode. For example, pressing the Rm2 button sets the Remote in Room 2 mode. The IR Remote will then control any Master Station programmed to receive that specific room s commands.
