lntroduction This document explains Metasys Integrator Airflow applications. Use this document with the Metasys Integrator Technical Bulletin (LIT-690) in the Metasys Connectivity Technical Manual (FAN 69.), which provides information on installing and commissioning Metasys Integrator. For information on Airflow equipment, see Airflow documentation (obtainable from an Airflow representative). Application Details Metasys Integrator allows Airflow equipment to become an integral part of the Metasys and Metasys Companion Networks. Once Airflow Dataguard controllers are connected to a Metasys or Companion Network via the Metasys Integrator, their data is accessible to the full complement of Metasys Facility Management System (FMS) features, including Change-of-State (COS) monitoring, alarm notification, trend, and totalization. Airflow Dataguard controllers are microprocessors mounted on special-purpose air conditioning and refrigeration units (Airflow DATAC series). Metasys Integrator supports integration of the following DATAC systems: DATAC DX Series Dash x0 DATAC CG Series Dash x0 DATAC CW Series Dash x0 Dry Cell Series Dash x04 DATAC Mainframe Chiller Series Dash x0 DATAC DX Retrofit Series Dash x07 DATAC CW Retrofit Series Dash x08 CCT DX with Hot Gas Bypass Dash x09 TELAC Series Dash x DATAC CG Series Dash x DATAC DX Series Dash x Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator Airflow Application
Metasys Integrator supports integration of the following Dataguard 4.0 systems: Tech Cool Series Dash 4x0, 4x0 CG Series Dash 4x0, 4x06 CW Series Dash 4x0, 4x07 Main Frame Chiller Series Dash 4x0 CCT DX Series Dash 4x06, 4x08 Dry Cell Series Dash 4x08 Ceiling Unit Dash 4x04, 4x0 AFX Series Dash 4x09, 4x00, 4x0, 4x04 The Airflow Dataguard series application requires a RS- to RS-4/RS-48 converter between Metasys Integrator and the Airflow Dataguard Series controllers. For this series, use either a B&B Electronics RS- to RS-4 converter (48TBLED) or an Airflow Multicontroller. For Dataguard 4.0 applications, use a Johnson Controls MM-CVT0 RS- to RS-48 converter. Each Metasys Integrator vendor port can connect to one converter or Multicontroller. Each B&B Electronics converter can connect to one Dataguard. Each Multicontroller can connect to up to Dataguard controllers. Each MM-CVT0 can connect to one Dataguard 4.0 network. Up to 0 Dataguard 4.0 controllers can be connected on a Dataguard 4.0 network. Figure shows Metasys and Airflow integration and Figure shows Metasys Companion and Airflow integration. Figure shows Metasys and Airflow Dataguard 4.0 integration. 4 Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator Airflow Application

Design Considerations When integrating Airflow equipment, consider the following: Make sure all Airflow equipment is set up and running properly before attempting to integrate with the Metasys or Companion Network. (The Airflow representative is responsible for operation of Airflow equipment.) Dataguard 4.0 controllers must have the baud rate set to 9600 (factory default is 00; the Airflow representative is responsible for setting the Airflow baud rate). For integration to a Dataguard 4.0 controller, the Airflow RS-4/RS-48 serial interface board s jumper (JP) must be set for RS-48 communications (Pins and jumpered). The Airflow representative is responsible for setting the Airflow communications type. When integrating Airflow Dataguard 4.0 Controllers to Metasys, run s accumulated on the Airflow controller must be manually reset when they reach a value close to,000,000 s. For Dataguard 4.0, an alarm reset will reset the associated alarm. For example, if there is a Return Temperature Sensor Failure alarm, BO4 - Return Air Temperature Alarm Reset - is used to reset it. If you are using the B&B Electronics converter, make sure it has the pin settings shown in Figure 4. Control should be set to SD and Echo to Off. RTS CONTROL SD ECHO ON OFF Figure 4: B&B Electronics Converter (48TBLED) Jumper Pin Settings For Dataguard 4.0, the high and low limits for the Analog Output (AO) values are correct for configuration using Degrees F only. The integration will work for hardware configured to run Celsius, but commands to the Dataguard 4.0 will be clipped by the Dataguard unit instead of by Metasys Integrator. Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator Airflow Application 9
If you are using the Multicontroller, make sure its baud rate is set correctly to (The Airflow representative is responsible for operation of Multicontroller baud rate.) RS- cable distance between Metasys Integrator and the 48TBLED converter or MM-CVT0 converter can be a maximum of 0 feet. Dataguard. Controller Monitor Link Enable Dataguard. controllers with version codes of.8 or later have a configuration option added to enable or disable communications with monitoring systems. The default is DISABLED and must be changed to ENABLED to allow monitoring systems to operate with Dataguard.. The Operation and Maintenance Manual for the Dataguard. controller, included with each unit, describes the location of the option and its settings. In version codes of.46 and later, the configuration option resides in the Monitor menu. In earlier versions, it is in the Calibration section. To access the Monitor menu or the Calibration section, complete the following steps:. Press the pushbutton labeled SETUP in the upper center of the controller board to enter the Configuration mode.. Use the NEXT key to step the display to the Monitor menu or the Calibration Entry Point.. If your version does not have a Monitor menu, find the Calibration Entry Point and, while holding the SETUP pushbutton down, press the NEXT key. Failure to hold down the pushbutton will cause you to skip over the Calibration section and return to the main screen. 4. Once in the Calibration section, use the NEXT key to step through the items until the Monitor Link item is displayed (right after the LOW VOLT RESET item).. Enable Monitor Link. 0 Metasys Integrator Metasys Integrator Airflow Application

Metasys Integrator Setup To set up Metasys Integrator, use a portable PC connected to the Metasys Integrator Terminal Port. Metasys Integrator setup involves: downloading the correct vendor communication table (.VCT file) setting up the ports assigning network addresses to the controllers The following tables provide setup information specific to Airflow applications. Use Table if you are connecting Dataguard controllers to a B&B Electronics converter (see Table Note). Use Table if you are connecting Dataguard controllers to the Airflow Multicontroller (see Table Note). Use Table 4 if you are connecting Dataguard 4.0 controllers to the MM-CVT0 converter.
