Contact your water purveyor if you re not sure about hydrants on your property. The building owner is responsible for the annual maintenance required by NFPA 24 for private hydrants on their land. Fire Department Connections (FDC) is where the fire engine connects to the building sprinkler system. These require 3 ft clear space around, easy access and if located on a building, a FDC sign posted above the connection when on a building.
