6 Stability of liquid: is a chemically stable substance. It does not decompose under common conditions of the environment (temperature and pressure). The product is stable if the principles of correct handling and storage are observed. Excessive heating speeds up production of ammonia which has toxic effects. Storage requirements: is to be stored in closed, intact original containers in dry places with sufficient ventilation protected against direct weather conditions and sunlight as well as from the heat. The product must be stored away from sources of radiating heat, ignition, sparking, open sparking, open fire and strong oxidation materials, acids and bases. The solution of ammonium thiosulphate is not compatible with materials such as gold, copper, zinc or their alloys (i.e. bronze, brass, galvanized metals etc.) These materials may not be used at the construction of the systems of product handling nor as a material for storage containers.
