Product registration number: MAPP Highly effective against a range of downy mildew diseases including Bremia and Peronospora. Contains mandipropamid the first discovery in the new mandelamide chemical group. European trials found the active ingredient to be the most effective member of the CAA group. Low risk to arthropods and pollinators. Low rate of use liquid formulation, 600 ml per ha (60 ml per 1000m 2 ). PROPERTIES OF PERGADO UNI PERGADO UNI is a foliar fungicide for the preventative control of downy mildew in lettuce and is highly active against spore germination. Uptake into the leaf tissue assures good translaminar activity and inhibits mycelial growth during the incubation period. PERGADO UNI! A preventative fungicide also providing limited curative activity during initial infection phase. Prevents spore germination, stops early mycelial growth, reduces sporulation.! Translaminar, moving through the leaf protecting both upper and lower leaf surfaces.! Once applied bonds quickly and strongly to the waxy layer on the leaf surface and rainfast once dry or in one hour. Gradually permeates through the plant tissue of the leaf and provides a reservoir of active ingredient that is available for disease control throughout the leaf.! Fungicide Resistance Action Group (FRAG) group 40, a carboxylic acid amide (CAA) fungicide. The following text is taken from the approved product label: DISEASE CONTROLLED For the control of downy mildew on protected and outdoor lettuce, lamb s lettuce, endives (including frisee and escarole), chicory (radicchio), rocket, purslane and herbs. QUALIFIED RECOMMENDATION: PERGADO UNI may be applied to the following crops red mustard, salad greens, spinach leaves, land cress, cress and spinach beet leaves (chard). This is based on limited evidence of the effectiveness and crop safety. DIRECTIONS FOR USE TIMING Before applying PERGADO UNI, ensure the crop is free from any stress caused by environmental or agronomic effects. Always inspect crops to assess disease development immediately before spraying. Best results will be achieved from applications made in the earliest stage of disease development or as a protectant treatment following a disease risk assessment or the use of appropriate decision support systems. Only one application of PERGADO should be made per crop. UNI Applications of PERGADO UNI can be made up to 7 days before harvest. Rates of Use Apply PERGADO UNI at 0.6 litres product per hectare. RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT To minimise the risk of resistance developing PERGADO UNI may be applied in tank mixture or alternating using a fungicide with a different mode of action at a rate that is effective against downy mildew. Further information on suitable tank mix products and resistance managment strategies is available on the FRAG website. Use in alternation with fungicides with another mode of action. 3 MIXING AND SPRAYING The application to indoor lettuce should be made via hydraulic nozzle applicator e.g. motorised sprayer with hand lance or boom lance or knapsack applications. For outdoor applications, suitable hydraulic nozzle sprayers should be used. Spray Volume Apply PERGADO UNI in litres of water per hectare. Spray Nozzles A medium quality spray* is preferred for application of PERGADO UNI (* as defined by The British Crop Protection Council). A spray pressure of 2-3 bar is recommended. Mixing Make sure the sprayer is clean and set to give an even application at the correct volume. Fill the spray tank with half the required volume of clean water and start agitation. Add the required amount of PERGADO UNI and continue agitation whilst adding the rest of the water. Agitate the mixture thoroughly before use and continue agitation during spraying and any stoppages. Thoroughly wash all spray equipment with water immediately after use. Do not leave the spray liquid in the sprayer for long periods (such as during meal breaks or overnight). SAFETY PRECAUTIONS (a) Operator protection WASH HANDS AND EXPOSED SKIN before eating, drinking and after work. IF YOU FEEL UNWELL, seek medical advice (show label where possible). (b) Environmental protection Do not contaminate water with the product or its container. Do not clean application equipment near surface water. Avoid contamination via drains from farmyards and roads. (c) Storage and disposal KEEP IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, tightly closed, in a safe place. DO NOT RE-USE CONTAINER for any purpose. RINSE CONTAINER THOROUGHLY by using an integrated pressure rinsing device or manually rinsing three times. Add washings to sprayer at time of filling and dispose of safely. PROTECT FROM FROST. 6 TECHNICAL NOTES FOR PERGADO UNI PERGADO UNI TANK MIX LIST The following tank mixes have been tested for physical compatibility with PERGADO UNI at recommended rates of use and will mix in the sprayer tank. No tests have been undertaken on crop safety or product performance therefore, use is at the user's own risk. Syngenta Crop Protection will support the physical compatibility of 2-way tank mixes of PERGADO UNI with any of the fungicides or insecticides listed. Each product should be added separately to the bulk of the water in the spray tank and thoroughly mixed before adding the next chemical.
