1 OLR I OUR WORK OUR WORK GORDMANS SUMMARY When discount department store chain Gordmans expanded from the Midwest across central USA, it tasked OLR with replacing its legacy IT systems. In 2012, OLR implemented Oracle Retail Merchandise Operations Management to help Gordmans manage its inventory, pricing, retail financials, warehouse receiving and sales auditing processes. Most recently in 2015, Gordman s selected OLR to implement Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service as part of a multi-year program to bring next-generation retailing to the Omaha-based apparel and home décor retailer. Since initially partnering with OLR, Gordmans has experienced tremendous growth and the store base has expanded by almost 40% in three years. This has enabled the retailer to focus on key strategic initiatives to ensure outstanding customer experiences at every brand touchpoint. OLR provides Gordmans with a breadth of experience covering the Oracle Retail suite of products and combines it with detailed knowledge of each individual component. We have developed a strong partnership and we have come to rely on their capabilities and counsel. 2 OLR ENABLES GROWTH FOR GORDMANS When Jeff Gordman, CEO of discount retailer Gordmans, Inc., decided the time was right to expand from the company s Midwest roots into under-served markets across the central United States, he knew his legacy IT systems couldn t support his vision. MERCHANDISING FOUNDATIONS Facing legacy platform restrictions as basic as a hard double-digit limit for store numbering, opening new stores meant Gordmans had to find a proven solution that could both scale to address the company s long-term plans for growth and deliver the enhanced processes and operating effectiveness required to support a world-class retail organization. After a thorough selection process, Gordmans opted to move forward with the Oracle Retail platform. With a reputation for rapid scalability, the solution set included the broad retail functionality Gordmans needed to enhance its capabilities, including core merchandising foundation, inventory management, pricing, retail financials, warehouse receiving, and sales auditing. To guide the business transformation, Gordmans chose OLR as its systems integration and support partner. OLR s consultants worked with Gordmans internal business and IT teams to clearly map system requirements and tailor a first class solution to support current needs and the vision for the future.

The engagement spanned Gordmans entire initiative, from initial analysis and project scoping to post go-live transition support. GROWTH & OMNICHANNEL INITIATIVES Gordmans recently opened their 100th store and is currently under way on a multi-year initiative to bring true omnichannel retailing to the 100 yearold brand. Recognizing that the Point-of-Service (POS) was in need of a major overhaul, Gordmans engaged with OLR to implement Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service and Oracle Retail Customer Engagement Cloud Services. APPLICATION FOOTPRINT Oracle Retail Merchandise Operations Management Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service Oracle Retail Customer Engagement Oracle Retail UC4 Application Manager JBoss middleware platform Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service will help Gordmans to speed up the checkout process for its guests by enabling a reduction in manual entry for coupons, discounts, promotions and vouchers. Other key advances include the ability to access to real-time inventory levels across both stores and distribution centers. Oracle Retail Customer Engagement can help simplify the tracking and offer redemption associated with Gordmans popular grewards loyalty program. The replacement of Gordmans current POS system is part of a set of initiatives to deliver a platform to support omnichannel retail. In August 2015, Gordmans successfully launched its e-commerce platform, expanding its presence from 22 states to a national footprint via online shopping at gordmans.com. The department store chain is also focusing on supply chain efficiency, improvements to its guest loyalty program, and enhanced brand strategy and positioning.
