26 WHY WE RE THE PERFECT FIT 26 Our commitment to sustainability AT BD LIVING WE ARE COMMITTED TO BEING AN ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE COMPANY. We have invested in a new, state-of-the-art biomass boiler at our furniture factory in Bardon, to reduce its operational costs and carbon footprint. It takes wood waste from our factory, where we make bedroom furniture and fittings for thousands of new homes at developments across the country, and use it to heat the facility. As well as removing its wood waste output, which was previously around one tonne per day, it also reduces the company s carbon output by approximately 80 tonnes of carbon emissions every year, as well as saving money on heating and waste removal. This is all part of our commitment to be a leading company in sustainability.
