2 Our Story It all began with a carpenter and craftsman named Erie Sauder who had a passion and knack for crafting furniture people really liked. Quality and craftsmanship form the cornerstone of everything we do at Sauder Seating. Our rich history began over 75 years ago with a carpenter by the name of Erie Sauder. Erie found his calling in the building of quality, solid wood furniture with his first church project dating back to Today, the beautiful church furniture is still an integral part of the worship services of Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Defiance, Ohio. The enduring beauty of those furnishings exemplifies the standards he established and we have upheld for more than seven decades. Today we continue Erie s legacy, with over 31,000 installations throughout North America. In the early 1970s, architects began to realize that the high-quality, solid wood church pews from Sauder were an ideal solution for their courtroom projects. Since that time, Sauder Seating has supplied hundreds of federal, state and municipal courtrooms and JAG facilities across the country with beautiful, high-quality furniture. Sauder Seating offers a variety of seating options, tables, and accent trim to fully furnish courtrooms of any size and style. The following pages provide an overview of our capabilities, featured installations, and product options to help you create the type of environment you have envisioned. A Design for Sustainability At Sauder, our environmental policy starts with a commitment called stewardship, meaning we actively seek to conserve, recycle and act with respect toward the environment. Our Sustainability Design includes responsible sourcing, continued recycling and enhancement of internal processes to further our company culture of caring for nature, the environment, our home communities and employees. Wood waste is ground to sawdust and piped to our co-gen power plant, which supplies 1/3 of the power used in our facilities.

The following pages provide detailed information on product options for courtrooms. Specifications & Design Assistance We can help you do the work right from the beginning. Sauder offers standard specification documents for our benches to assist architects in submitting bids. Your sales representative will be able to provide the appropriate documents for the products being specified. One of the most over-looked benefits we can offer is the ability to help with speculation drawings. Our local sales representatives and CAD department can work with you to provide speculation drawings to show maximum seating capacity based upon your blueprints at the beginning. Not only does this aid in budgeting, but it allows us both to get in front of the builder with a solid plan. We consider this team-work approach essential in working with you. Fabrics & Finishes Sauder offers over 200 combinations of wood species and finish colors, as well as hundreds of fabric patterns and colors, allowing you to create a truly unique look for your courtroom environment. Construction Materials At Sauder Courtroom Seating, we build our furniture from the finest solid hardwoods, and offer the largest standard specie selection in the industry. To further ensure the quality of our furniture, we kiln-dry our own lumber (select species) on site to achieve optimum moisture content, helping to minimize dimensional changes and movement in the final product.
