2 Paul Basile BASILE Studio Paul Basile s commercial, hospitality and retail projects have earned wide-ranging critical acclaim and multiple awards for Interior Design, Tranformative Design, Adaptive Reuse, Sustainability and Divine Details from organizations including the American Institute of Architects and San Diego Architectural Foundation. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Paul is a 4th generation builder and 1st generation designer, developer, sculptor and entrepreneur. He launched his career with a line of hand-crafted furniture in the early 90 s, and opened his first venture shortly thereafter, a design collective for he and other artisans to showcase and sell their work. As increasing requests for one-off projects poured in, each larger in scale than the last, his attention and expertise grew to encompass the design and fabrication of custom architectural details and building renovations as a licensed general contractor. The doors to BASILE Studio opened in 1994, evolving into a full-service design/build and fabrication studio in Paul s diverse background, intrinsic sense of structures, space and style, exhaustive attention to detailed craftsmanship and perpetual drive to mix traditional design methods with cutting-edge technology are at the core of BASILE Studio s high-end, pioneering spaces. Arsalun Tafazoli CH Projects As the head of some of San Diego's most celebrated eateries, Arsalun Tafazoli has not only witnessed, but led the transformation of what jokingly used to be considered "Blandiego into a foodie forward destination with progressive restaurants and innovative fare.tafazoli began creating his mini-empire in The law school dropout started his endeavor with Neighborhood, a modernist shrine to craft beer and comfort food, despite that during that time there was little to no market for such a concept. Today, Neighborhood is one of the most celebrated beer bars in Southern California, and Tafazoli s pioneering spirit and ambitious nature has led CH Projects to open many of the city s most progressive dining and cocktail establishments. He made his mark on the national craft cocktail scene with Noble Experiment, Craft & Commerce, and Polite Provisions and most recently opened doors in 2014 to CH's most ambitious culinary-focused concept to date, Ironside Fish & Oyster. Alongside business partner Nathan Stanton, Tafazoli is now at the helm of eleven unique concepts in only eight short years, steadily moving forward to create an intelligent, impactful culinary culture in San Diego.
