2 Salone del Bagno 2018 The Village is the concept on display in the exhibition space at Rho Fiera: five interpretations of the creative experience applied to bathroom design. At this important rendezvous, the 2018 edition of the International Bathroom Exhibition, Flaminia is present with a brand-new stand having a powerful visual impact. Designed by the company s art director, Giulio Cappellini, the new stand uses a tall colonnade to delimit an area enclosing five bathroom settings, totally different from one another but sharing the same protagonist: the bathroom as styled by Flaminia. The exhibition space set up in Hall 24, Stand F01-F05, shows how the company interprets the current trends and in doing so delineates its own vision of contemporary living. The work done in collaboration with renowned designers who find in Flaminia an innovative creative laboratory, where they can test out the characteristics of ceramic materials applied to bathroom fixtures has given life to unique collections, with high-quality design contents, that can keep up with the latest fashion trends and, at the same time, meet the needs of present-day consumers who, to an ever greater extent, view the bathroom as a place of wellness. Palomba, whose carefully dimensioned, slender proportions express an extraordinary stylistic force. The wall-mounted WC bowl and bidet from the IO 2.0 line by Duringer and Rosini further enhance the elegance of the environment. The next room showcases the new NudaSlim 75 basins, also born of the long-term collaboration with Ludovica+Roberto Palomba. These elements, combined with the App bowl and bidet, investigate the sophisticated colours shades of Fango, already presented by Flaminia in previous seasons, revealing the brand s ability to experiment with colour combinations. The last room, featuring concrete grey ceramic walls, displays the Nile collection by Patrick Norguet in its Grafite version, whose dark, matte colour hues underscore the earthy origin of the ceramic material. The installation also hosts the Wash bathtub in Pietraluce by Giulio Cappellini and the Bloom console basin by Angeletti-Ruzza Design. Hence, the decision to exalt the stylistic power of Flaminia s proposals doing away with the didactic approach that makes lavish use of accessories and furnishing complements by giving prominence to the purity of the architectural dimension: there is room for just one decorative element, a series of extraordinary sculptures by Flavio Lucchini, undisputed master and promoter of the high quality of Italian culture. The Village is an exhibition concept defined through five bathroom environments that illustrate the rich world of Flaminia. The floor and wall coverings by Rex ceramics characterise each room and provide a common thread to the entire design narrative. Each space is furnished with a selection of projects styled by Flaminia, through a careful alternation between new collections and best sellers of the brand. The first room houses Madre, a new series designed by studio Angeletti-Ruzza Design. It is a collection of washbasins, bowls and bidets whose forms and proportions evoke the pre-rationalist language of the 1930s. This elegant and precious proposal combines design excellence with the latest interior furnishing trends, presented through a striking chromatic contrast between light and dark hues, glossy and matte materials. From this room we move into a space characterised by warm colours and the three-dimensionality of the coverings: it houses Bonola, the iconic collection designed by Jasper Morrison, with pieces whose seamless, harmonious profile is exalted by the choice of Grigio Lava finishes for all the elements. In the following environment, Latte is the colour that produces an elegant interplay with the finish of the coverings inspired by the fine veining of Carrara marble, emphasising the new NudaFlat console basin designed by Ludovica+Roberto All the rooms are furnished with wooden complements from the Box collection, proposed in the four finishes available. Another area is reserved for Flaminia Lighting, where, next to known lighting fixtures, we find the latest creations Lux by Patrick Norguet, a designer who has a long-standing relationship of collaboration with the company. In the lounge area of the stand, the new NudaSlim 60 basin can be admired as it creates spectacular graphic design effects using all the shades of the Flaminia colour palette. In a perfect synthesis of formal solutions, chromatic and lifestyle research, yet again, at this year s edition of the International Bathroom Exhibition, Flaminia showcases new expressive languages and renews its collaboration with Mario Trimarchi from Studio Fragile. 2 FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

3 Fuori Salone 2018 NUDAEVOLUTION is the retrospective that enlivens the showroom in via Solferino, and reveals the extraordinary versatility of the historic collection designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba. NUDAEVOLUTION is a retrospective set up in the historic SpazioFlaminia showroom in via Solferino with the aim to put back the focus of the design experience on Nuda, the memorable line of washbasins designed in 2002 by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba. One of Flaminia s iconic collections, reflecting the brand s undisputed capacity to anticipate trends and identify designs destined to last long into the future. A pure, sensual and current style characterises the Nuda collection, which retains to this day all its contemporary flair, while suggesting new interpretative evolutions. The installation underscores the versatility of the original line and its new elements, NudaSlim and NudaFlat: the different settings highlight Flaminia s ability to give fresh life to a product s identity through colour and finishes. 3 FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

4 Milano DesignWeek 2018 EVENTO SUPERSTUDIOPIÙ SUPERLOFT A conceptual home conceived by Giulio Cappellini to narrate the experience of contemporary living, on display from 17 to 22 April. Matter and colour, form and function. For over sixty years, Flaminia has interpreted the emerging trends in bathroom design. Characterised by qualitative excellence in processing and giving shape to ceramic products, and benefiting from the collaboration of the most prominent designers on the international scene, Flaminia returns with its collections to the Milan Fuorisalone, on stage from dal 17 to 22 April, in parallel with the Furniture Fair. The brand has the lead role in Superloft, the new initiative conceived by Giulio Cappellini and set up in the exhibition space of Superstudiopiù. The exhibition concept takes form in a home which is imaginary and yet real, cool and eclectic, cultured and stylish, tastefully furnished with a selection of materials and objects by the most prestigious contemporary brands: a space with a markedly international outlook and a deeply Italian soul. Superloft is a multicultural dimension, where Flaminia stands for excellence in bathroom furniture, as borne out by the selection of its iconic collections on display: from the Fontana and Wash bathtubs styled by Giulio Cappellini to Jasper Morrison s Bonola line, and the Rocchetto stools by Alessandro Mendini. A space where to live in full comfort, anywhere in the world, a space that houses extraordinary design pieces. It bespeaks the pleasure of living in a confortable environment, surrounded by beautiful objects, which become fundamental presences in a person s daily life. With this exhibition, Flaminia underscores its contribution to the cultural evolution of interior design, and how it transformed the bathroom from a functional space to a place of wellness, to be fitted out with elements that leave nothing to be desired from the aesthetics viewpoint. 5 Milano DesignWeek 2018 SPECIAL PROJECT PRIVATE ICONS BY FLAMINIA What once was a space consigned to intimate use, to be hidden from the sight, has overcome its cultural taboos and has become a place where ritual of wellness, beauty, pampering are celebrated. More than natural, the transformation of this place into a cosy room that accommodates bathroom fixtures and significant furniture, up to actual design private icons created by top masters. From this reflection, and from the conceptual abstraction of such awareness, the Private Icons exhibition is born, curated by Leonardo Talarico and Giovanni Cappellini, under supervision by Gisella Borioli and graphic contribution by Mario Trimarchi of Studio Fragile. On show at SuperstudioPiù s spaces, the exhibition retraces the most important stages of Flaminia s research in the field of design with an installation of the most significative pieces created by Nendo, Giulio Cappellini, Jasper Morrison, Paola Navone, Patrick Norguet, Roberto Palomba, Fabio Novembre, Rodolfo Dordoni, Hsiang Heng Hsiao and Alessandro Mendini. The projects, selected for their ability to revolutionize aesthetics and habits of the bathroom space, are combined to the sculptural plasticity of art works by Flavio Lucchini. In a continuous formal cross-reference, the artist s work follow through the interpretation of the projects by Flaminia also in the "Salone del Mobile". 5 FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

6 Madre Design ANGELETTI - RUZZA «Between our past and our present there is no incompatibility. We do not want to break with tradition: rather, it is tradition that undergoes a transformation, takes on new facets, and few recognise it in its new guise.» [Note in Rassegna Italiana, dicembre 1926] Madre is a collection that looks to the works of the architects of Italian rationalism, such as Piero Bottoni. The aim was to design a bathroom with a classic soul, which would not imitate the styles of the past, but rather would capture their intentions and transpose them into a contemporary version having totally renewed proportions and featuring a continuity of lines and rounded surfaces that made it perfectly current. Madre evokes a sense of self-confidence and stability, inspires total trust. Its timeless design creates a warm, enveloping atmosphere. In designing a collection of fully Italian-made ceramic sanitary ware, we drew our inspiration from an architecture that has left a deep mark on our collective imagination. 6 FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

7 Bonola Design JASPER MORRISON The highly refined collection Bonola has acquired a new generously-sized oval-shaped washbasin, which retains the distinctive traits of the entire range. The toiled bowl is now proposed with goclean, the innovative flushing system patented by Flaminia. The absence of a rim makes this bowl more practical and easier to clean. 7 FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

8 Nuda Design LUDOVICA+ROBERTO PALOMBA The end in view was a range featuring lighter proportions and a younger aesthetic appeal, that could fit easily into today s urban settings where space is the real luxury. The lines of the original project are still current and have not been altered. The proportions and sizes are new: the thickness of the profiles has been reduced, in keeping with the trends of the last few years, but always within reason, so as to give the ceramic material the importance it deserves in terms of visual impact and pleasure to the touch. Careful dimensioning of the proportions, where sensual lines intermingle with rigid geometries, has given life to the NudaFlat console. In this project, material and design interact seamlessly to create a washbasin that is lightweight, essential, and at the same time highly sophisticated. 8 FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

9 Io 2.0 Design A.DURINGER e S.ROSINI The wall-mounted bathroom fixtures from the IO range have undergone a significant restyling, which has generated the IO 2.0 version. The shape has been simplified and is more current, but retains the aesthetic features of the original project. The toilet uses the goclean system FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

10 App e MiniApp Design FLAMINIA DESIGN TEAM, 2014 Wall-hung toilet bowl and wall-hung bidet with soft, rounded lines that are contemporary versions of two classic bathroom fixtures. This sophisticated design, with carefully studied proportions, accurately calibrated to adapt to a broader and mixed ambience, is suited for domestic as well as public spaces. 11 Nile Design PATRICK NORGUET An articulate collection of bathroom fixtures originating from the desire to bring shape and function together in a plain design. The result is a timeless design inspired by metaphysics, in which the perfect balance between geometric rigour and the delicacy of the profile, besides skilfully showing off the pliable values of ceramics, encourages one to add this line to any setting. The goclean system may now be used with Nile, the square-shaped toilet bowl. Thus, the possibility of opting for this innovative toilet cleaning system has been extened to a wider range of forms. 11 FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

12 Bloom Design ANGELETTI - RUZZA Bloom is a stylish console washbasin, available in two different sizes, that stands out for its generous geometric proportions and the thin lines of the top. The combination with the towel rack in matt black steel underscores the slender edges of the product, making it extremely attractive. In either version, Bloom may be combined with a module from the Box range, with single or double drawer. 12 FLAMINIA - MILANO APRILE 2018

13 Box Design FLAMINIA DESIGN TEAM Box is the new line of modular furnishings, conceived to go well in big and small environments alike. The collection is comprised of various wall-mounted elements available in two depths, 37 and 50 cm, which may be used in combination with console and countertop washbasins. The wall-mounted bases have one or two drawers with soft closing mechanism, and may be supplemented with columns and wall-mounted cabinets equipped with glass shelves insides. The various modules, available in four different wood finishes, may be assembled in different combinations to offer a wide range of opportunities for personalisation. 15 The ceramic ware labelled Made in Italy explores new ambits of design and innovation to make its debut in the world of lighting technology Flaminia, a brand leader on the market for superbly designed bathroom fittings, continues to be a protagonist of home living with projects of great innovative and stylistic impact. Having contributed to transforming bathrooms from mere utility spaces into oases of wellness, also thanks to collaborations with authoritative contemporary designers, the company now makes its debut in the lighting industry with the Flaminia Lighting brand. With its distinctive charm and versatility, ceramic has been shaped by the master craftsmen of the Civita Castellana manufacturing district to produce a collection of lighting fixtures. An uncommon use of this traditional material has led to the creation of some highly appealing products, characterized by a vast spectrum of colours, which has always been one of the characteristic approaches of Flaminia to interior design. Lux, by Patrick Norguet Lux encapsulates the beauty of ceramics, the charm of light and the know-how of a factory. "I wanted to design an authentic object with exacting standards, which responds to multiple needs and uses". Lux reminds us, perhaps unconsciously, of those early twentieth-century lamps, which we come across from time to time in locations such as factories. Lux can be fitted to the wall or ceiling in order to light a variety of spaces: bathrooms, hotel corridors, bedrooms, or restaurants. It works perfectly in both public and private spaces.
