2 Statement I deeply believe that designers use their unique sense of taste and heart to interpret the world. Art as a universal language no matter through spatial or temporal tolerance has witnessed and carried on the stories our human being has ever had. I believe stories make life meaningful. Thus, I want to become one of the people who can listen to other people s stories. I do wish, by interpreting the spirit of the story of my design work, other people are able to hear the story, appreciate and get inspired. For every process of my interior project, I view myself as story listener, life preserver and dream creator. Research comes first before I concrete my concept. I want to understand the object setting for my design without bringing my own bias and being arbitrary. During this process, I am listening to any source that comes from history, site, etc. After digesting the abundant information, I will forge my thought into a solid concept. From schematic design to draft plans, from final floor plan to construction document, I not only run through each detail by concept, but also keep reminding myself the importance of being a life preserver. Since people are going to experience and understand the story behind my design by using the actual three-dimensional space, the mission of preserving their using experience and life quality is so crucial. As an interior designer, my sense of accomplishment comes from the moment when I provide the dream space that my clients are happy for. I appreciate the opportunity to create something functional, enjoyable and meaningful.

3 C-CHAIR Design Fabrication Sketches / Human Dimension Nature is the most amazing gift that our human beings have ever had. Using the furniture, which made of natural materials (wood, wicker, flax) is such a spontaneous way to express our joy and appreciation. The C-Chair, a rocking chair made of wicker-weavedback, offers the most nostalgia feeling with gentle movement. It gives user a chance to slow down and enjoy every seconds of life. 4 TROY Renovation / Concept: Bay It is a renovation project to re-adapt a historical building into residential space. Troy Laundry Building is a historical significance, which locates in South Lake Union at 307 Fairview Ave. N, Seattle. It s a 1927 built Beaux Arts building designed by Victor Voorhees. In the labyrinth of the urban environment, there exist hidden venues known solely by locals. These spaces offer a familiar, intimate, and exclusive experience where a small group of people can sit and relax in familiar surroundings while socializing both with friends and their hosts. The Japanese MONIYA is such a palace, found in interspersed amongst the density of the city, in alleyways and left over spaces, these establishments provide a unique personalized experience to their patrons.

9 KALEIDOSCOPE Exhibition Design / Concept: Kaleidoscope This project is proposed to transform the historical Top Pot Dough-nuts building, which locates at th Ave, Seattle, WA, into a modern, versatile gallery space. Site Analysis Original Lift Connect Monorail In order to capture the monorail dynamic scene, an extra floor is added as the gathering space. The distinct facades of 1st and 2nd floor bring aesthetic drama to the gallery by the mass & void, solid & liquid contrast.

10 By constructing the light box above the original building, and connecting the two floors with Kaleidoscope circulation, the facade speaks for itself. People, as colorful fragments of the kaleidoscope, transform the identity from viewers to viewees. And the dynamic movements will be presented honestly to the public, as one of the displays. 11 Grand Horizon NEMO Equipment HQ / Concept : Grand Horizon NEMO equipment is an innovation based outdoor gear Company. The founder, president and CEO Cam Brensinger interpreted the spiritual of NEMO Equipment as, I know where I am going but I don t want to know the details. The fun part is the adventure. NEMO Equipment proposal new headquarter is located on the 22nd floor at the 501 4th Ave, Seattle, WA. By incorporating the multi-dimensional terrace landscape into the original rectangular shaped architecture shell, the interior outdoor-experience has been introduced. Grand Horizon offers engineers, designers, and artists the authentic experience to work in a dynamic, passionate, as well as inspiring office environment.
