As you would expect over the years the company has been involved in many prestigious projects that include being commissioned to make the chairs for King George VI s (1937) and Queen Elizabeth II s (1953) Coronations, copies of which were made to celebrate her Silver Jubilee in More recently we designed, made and installed over 150 executive desks for the very fastidious Judges and Justices within the Royal Courts, resulting in high acclaim. In the private sector many senior captains of industry have made HANDS their first choice for executive, boardroom, corporate welcome and meeting facilities; such as the nine metre boardroom table and associated furniture built for Lloyds of London and installed within their famous Richard Rogers building. 3 THE BOARDROOM The Boardroom is a symbol of a company s position, its image, financial strength, stability and integrity. It should above all reflect the quality that the management wants to portray both to its staff and to its valued clients. The exquisite furniture designed and made in the HANDS factory dovetails these aspirations into reality, with outstanding results. This stunning boardroom interior shows how the use of crown cut natural American Black Walnut used together with subtle colour tones can be so successful. The form of the barrel shaped, solid edged table works well in conjunction with the integral Media Wall, housing all the Audio Visual and Video Conferencing equipment. 4 Financial and Business Consultants. London These stunning white Corian tables offer a fresh alternative for certain rooms in this most prestigious installation. The polished chrome frames allow for excellent vertical cable management leading up to secluded troughs and access flaps containing power, data and AV outlets, therefore hiding cables and keeping a tidy appearance. Matching credenzas containing both AV racks and hospitality items were provided to complement the scheme. Various shaped tables were provided depending upon the anticipated style of meeting including large round, D end tables for collaborative working and some vase shaped ideal for AV/VC usage. 5 THE FLEXIBLE BOARDROOM In many organisations the need for flexibility within meeting areas is important. With demountable, mobile partitions and a good flexible table system it is possible to have a professional boardroom and smaller meeting rooms within the same space. HANDS are experts in providing furniture concepts which can provide true flexibility with the look of a formal boardroom when you need it. Orion Soft Cantilever Johnson Matthey. London Change tables were selected for this impressive London installation where a high degree of flexibility and functionality were required. The FSC American Black Walnut was specially selected for its distinct grain and laid out crown cut across the tables to give a seamless effect looking down the length. All the tables are mobile and have folding leaves to maximise the use and space within the rooms, whilst the access hatches and hollow bases conceal all the necessary power, data, AV outlets and cables. 6 Precept Cantilever Precept Stacking Orion Flip Top Table An alternative flexible table solution is to use Orion flip top tables. These metal framed tables which incorporate both horizontal and vertical cable management are excellent for training and conference facilities, where furniture is required to be mobile and stored out of the room. Milton Keynes This firm of legal professionals needed a series of flexible tables that could be arranged into larger table settings. An important part of the brief was for discreet containment of IT/AV equipment and that the tables should look as one when arranged, with the bases to be visually light. All this was achieved by using the HANDS Change system. A special Walnut veneer stained to give a Wenge like appearance was used to ensure a sustainable ethic. In smaller fixed meeting rooms HANDS met the brief by coordinating tops and mounting on mirrored and highly polished chrome bases giving an incredible floating look to the furniture. 11

7 The HANDS Collection Executive THE TELE-PRESENCE SUITE Tele-presence is a form of Video Conferencing taken a great deal further. By designing and making two or more matching suites in different locations it allows meeting delegates to view each other in high definition as if they were sitting opposite each other, despite being hundreds or possibly thousands of miles apart. HANDS have for some years been well known for integrating technical equipment into furniture. In this case the integration of rise and fall plasma screens within credenzas, all fully accessorised with HD cameras, microphones and speakers, together with height adjustable desk tops results in very clever and suitable stunning installations. London and Zurich This company is one of the leading global specialty insurers and reinsurers, and is the largest syndicate in Lloyd s of London. They and their designers, Artillery, selected HANDS not only for our ability to deliver sophisticated furniture, but also for our strong environmental record and the ability to source audited and sustainable FSC timber. Suites completed in both London and Zurich facilitate international meetings to be held in such a realistic way that it brings the participants together as if they are in the same room. The overall result gives the desired wow factor and a truly sustainable business solution to long distance remote communications

8 THE VIDEO CONFERENCE Provision for Audio Visual and Video Conferencing is becoming more and more an essential and regular part of office facilities. HANDS work closely with AV/VC providers to tailor our furniture to meet the exact needs of both the contractor and client alike. Easily accessible cable and equipment provision is built in, hiding the visual impact of trailing wires to staff and clients yet accommodating sophisticated equipment. The overall aesthetic is a very important consideration and, by use of high quality materials and workmanship, we can ensure ultimate client satisfaction. London and Zurich To complement the Tele-presence Suites HANDS were commissioned to provide furniture for various other rooms to be used for Audio Visual presentations, IT training and video conferencing. The tables made in FSC Oak, and stained to a specific tint have self-contained rise and fall monitors, allowing the rooms to be very much multipurpose. Credenzas containing IT equipment, AV racks and fridges were designed and made to coordinate with the tables with recessed mirrored plinths that give the units a light floating appearance over the floor

9 Landmark PLC. London This organisation rents out high profile offices in the centre of London to some very prestigious clients. HANDS were used in various sites and worked closely with their interior designer to produce some stunning meeting rooms, such as this one with a round drum based table and Orion soft chairs. THE MEETING ROOM The need for meeting rooms in any organisation is always an essential. Their purpose must be defined and the right furniture provided. HANDS have probably the widest choice of tables available on the market to satisfy any number of requirements from a simple round table for three, to a conference table seating 30 candidates. 11 Cultural Attaché Amlin PLC. City of London Slip matched, quarter cut Walnut has been carefully selected and matched throughout this suite to form a striking contemporary executive office. With the leg frames being cleverly cut and jointed from solid Walnut, they form triangular mitres giving a reflection of true craftsmanship and high quality. This office is exquisitely veneered in a combination of Burr and crown cut American Black Walnut. The executive suite reflects the status and seniority of the official within this Embassy installation, whilst also giving a warm and welcoming feel. Emerald Publishing. Bingley HANDS designers worked with this publishing company to provide them with their ideal executive offices. Finished in Maple with Walnut borders, they were more than delighted with the results. 12 THE EXECUTIVE WORKWALL The Workwall concept provides the perfect solution for the professional consultant, fee-earning executives and their support staff. Rectilinear shapes are dominant, with great use of vertical space and landscaping. This furniture design concept is well proven and lends itself to offices where expensive floor-space needs to be well utilised. Used in conjunction with the HANDS storage systems the combination allows for efficient, at hand filing and the spread of paperwork. Mayfair This superlative installation of executive workwall is probably the best in London for overall quality, attention to detail and function. The designers and makers at HANDS formulated the ideas of the client, and their interior designers, to produce a top spec, height adjustable workwall and executive desking system. This was used throughout the office for management and senior executives. Microsoft. Reading This Workwall in the most senior executive suite within Microsoft combines the latest IT functionality with a beautiful aesthetic

City of London Orion Classic Cantilever Orion Slim Cantilever With a specific brief to coordinate with the style of furniture used in the USA headquarters, HANDS successfully met the brief with a series of functional workwall elements. A light contemporary feel was achieved by using sustainable FSC Quarter Cut Oak with a light white wash to the lacquer. The storage elements provide for a variety of filing methods including suspension and lever arch. 14 Amlin PLC. City of London To coordinate with furniture in the cellular offices, desks and storage were supplied from the Verdi range for the executive assistants in the open areas. These desks, made with solid walnut frames and beautifully book-matched crown cut American Black Walnut, are both spacious and functional providing generous layout areas for the paper filing kept in the adjacent HANDS wall storage. EXECUTIVE SUPPORT The ability to provide suitable workstations for administrative and executive support that coordinate with the associated managerial suites is generally an important requirement in most organisations. The use of vertically laid crown cut veneers in conjunction with contrasting stone elements and feature lighting makes this monolithic counter visually interesting whilst creating a strong corporate statement

Manchester A beautiful combination of crown cut Walnut with Maple detail makes for a really striking counter in this bright and welcoming business setting. This simple reception counter shows how a combination of white panels and Walnut tops works so well together. The subtle feature lighting gives a warm inviting glow without being over powering, whilst the reflective metallic plinth makes the unit appear to float over the carpet

18 CORPORATE HOSPITALITY Dining areas are a focal point within many organisations, providing entertainment spaces for clients and staff. In some cases, as within hotels and conference centres, these corporate restaurants are hired out and need to be durable, of a high standard and very flexible. Liverpool Change Stacking Arm Chair Edo Stacking Chair Flexibility with a contemporary high quality feel is achieved by the overall design set out in this installation of HANDS tables and specially tailored seating. The Edo chairs met the demanding brief to have a truly comfortable dining chair that was stacking and practical for a high use environment.
