8 Measure S Live Oak Library Annex Goals In June 2016, voters approved Measure S: a $67 million bond for facilities work throughout the Santa Cruz Public Library system $6.25 million has been allocated to update the Live Oak Library branch and to create a new Library Annex for the Live Oak Library branch Annex to include classrooms, study spaces, technology and library materials, outdoor space Funds obtained through this measure will help provide more space to support programs for community members of all ages. 17 Comment Cards Opportunities: Emerging Community Hub in the heart of Live Oak. Strong collaborative, multi-agency partnerships Game room w/ a digital floor & lots of preloaded game options. Floor responds to touch people are game pawns. Obviously expensive, so plan B could be a game room w/ at least one or two changeable, oversized games (checkers, chess, scrabble, etc.) & other games available. Small meeting rooms, Computer & Tech room, more parks & recreation programming, cooking classes, café, maker space, more outdoor spaces Constraints: Space. Funds Need to separate free public spaces (Library side) from paid swim center side. Other Considerations: The Live Oak School District serves over 1,700 children in Live Oak. Work with them to integrate their goals for the future of Live Oak Children (They have four goals: Parent Engagement, 21 st Century Learning, Wellness, and Academic Achievement) MEETING #1 COMMENT CARDS
