1 DESIGN A SYSTEM WITH THE NORA RAIL: You have the versatility of a track system, with the flexibility and design aspects of a typical Rail system. There are no worries about where to put the transformer, because there is none. There are no worries about having too long a Rail design, with potential voltage drop, because this system is 120 volts and you can go as far as your design requires. There are no worries about maxing out your system at 300 watts, as with low voltage systems, because this system can accommodate up to 2400 watts, and is cu.l. listed. You can also field-cut it, and easily bend it to as small as a two foot diameter circle. TO DESIGN A NORA RAIL SYSTEM YOU MUST BE MINDFUL OF FOUR IMPORTANT AREAS: LENGTH / SHAPE SUSPENSION FIXTURES POWER When you order your system remember you need the RAIL, a means to suspend it, fixtures to hang from it, and a way to power it. NOTE: The entire system is available in three finishes: Brushed Nickel (BN), Bronze (BZ), or Silver (S).

2 LENGTH / SHAPE Unlike low voltage systems, the Nora Rail is line voltage (120 volt); it has almost no distance restriction, or significant voltage drops. It can be circular bent to a 25 diameter, or angular bent to 90 degrees. Is your RAIL design going to be straight or curved? If the RAIL is going to be straight, what will the total distance be? If your design incorporates curves and/or bends, please ensure you factor both your total distance and all of the curves/bends, when determining your total RAIL footage. RAIL SIZES - There are three different lengths: NRS90-P04 4 ft. RAIL NRS90-P06 6 ft. 6 in. RAIL NRS90-P08 8 ft. RAIL There are also several factory bent Rail options. RAIL to RAIL CONNECTORS - There are four different ways to connect the Rails together for longer runs. NRS90-P81 Live Rail connector (rigid) - connects and conducts power between two rails. NRS90-N89 Dead Rail connector (rigid) - will connect two rails together, but will not conduct the power between them. This connector allows the two rails being connected to be powered by two different sources. NRS90-P85 Live Flexible Accordion Rail connector (9-1/2 long) - When placed between two rails it will allow sharp angular turns while conducting power. Note: should only be used with Rail that is supported. NRS90-P82 Live Cable Rail connector (20 long) - used to connect two rails together which are at different heights, or to jump around corners, or to go over a beam, while conducting power. ( X, L, and T Connectors are also available (See Page 213) RAIL BENDER - the rail can be bent manually, but for best results it is recommended to utilize the rail bending device to create your custom design. NRS90-N33 Rail Bending Device - firmly attaches to a hard surface by an adjustable clamp. The Rail is passed through adjustable wheels that are pushed together to slowly curve the Rail by pressure.

3 SUSPENSION The RAIL can be suspended from the ceiling (flat, vaulted, or T-Bar) by stems or aircraft cable. The Stems vary from 3 to 96, and do not have to be field-cut as the majority of them are telescopic. It is recommended to place your support stems, or cables, every 2-1/2 feet on the system, or wherever you have applied a lot of fixture weight, or off-balanced curves. The Rail can also be mounted to a vertical wall. FLAT CEILING SUPPORT STEMS - To suspend the rail from standard flat ceilings: NRS90-N14 4 Ceiling connector for flat ceilings. NRS90-N17 7-1/2 to 11-1/2 Telescopic ceiling connector for flat ceilings. SLOPED OR FLAT CEILING SUPPORT STEMS - To suspend the rail from a sloped ceiling, or flat ceiling. Maximum 45 degree or 12/12 pitch, with locking screw: NRS90-N73 3 ceiling connector for sloped or flat ceilings. NRS90-N74 4 ceiling connector for sloped or flat ceilings. NRS90-N77 8-1/4 to 11-1/2 telescopic ceiling connector for sloped or flat ceilings. NRS90-N70 12 to 24 telescopic ceiling connector for sloped or flat ceilings. NRS90-N /4 to 48 telescopic ceiling connector for sloped or flat ceilings. NRS90-N /4 to 96 telescopic ceiling connector for sloped or flat ceilings. VERTICAL WALL SUPPORT STEMS - To suspend the rail off a vertical surface: NRS90-N18 5-1/2 to 8-1/2 telescopic stem connector, with adjustable support cable. CABLE CONNECTORS - To secure the rail to a flat or sloped ceiling by steel aircraft cable: NRS90-N91 Field adjustable cable from 1 to 10 feet in length. Note: When the Rail is supported by cable, the horizontal plane or the rail shape can be impacted by heavy fixtures and or extreme curves in the Rail design. Even the breeze from air conditioners can cause the rail to sway. If you are having a problem, we suggest you add a couple of hard stems to stabalize the system. T-BAR CEILING ATTACHMENTS - must be used in conjunction with a support stem to attach the Rail to a standard T-Bar drop ceiling: NRS90-N21 T-Bar clip and cover assembly for 15/16 Tee. (must be used with a ceiling connector) NRS90-N22 T-Bar clip and cover assembly for 9/16 Tee. (must be used with a ceiling connector)

4 FIXTURES / LUMINAIRES The Nora Rail System has a variety of Heads/Fixtures in numerous shapes, sizes, and wattages depending on your design needs. This system is Line Voltage, and does not utilize a transformer, but just like standard Track, you can incorporate fixtures with various lamp sources that can utilize integral transformers or ballast as needed. You have the capabilities of putting up to 2400 watts on each system, which allows you the opportunity to have both directional lighting and higher wattage general lighting, which could never be accomplished with low voltage Rail systems, due to their 300 watt limited capacity. RAIL FIXTURES - Are available in Line Voltage, Low Voltage, Fluorescent, and HID units: Line Voltage - Our 120 volt fixtures come in numerous styles, and utilize various lamps/bulbs. We have several fixtures using: 50 watt MR16 GU10 lamps/bulbs (provided with fixture), 40 watt G9 lamps/bulbs (provided), 150/300 watt R7S double ended Halogen (provided), 75 watt R111 lamps (not provided). Please refer to our catalog, or price list, for various styles of Rail heads/fixtures offered, and specific lamps utilized. Low Voltage - 12 volt fixtures, each incorporating its own transformer. In this case you are using a low voltage fixture on a line voltage system. Due to the complexities of everyone s needs, and the many varieties of low voltage lamps/bulbs (beam spread, colors, size, etc.) they are not included with the fixtures. The socket can accommodate 12 volt, watt MR16, MR11, G6.35 JC, or G4.0 JC lamps. We also have the NRS and NRS fixtures that accommodates the 50 watt AR111 lamp/bulb. All line voltage heads shown in our catalog are also available in the low voltage version. HID Fixtures - Metal Halide fixtures with integral electronic HID ballast. Utilizing the new MR16 size CMH 20 watt, and Par20, 30, and 38 from watts. Also Bi-Pin T4 and T5 HID fixtures from watt, and 39 watt T6 (lamps not included). Fluorescent Fixture - Nepor NRS direct or indirect lighting utilizing 2x24 watt T5 high output fluorescent lamps. Canopy mount, fixture mount, or drop pendant capabilities. PENDANTS - Glass fixtures dropped from the rail, or from individual canopies, by adjustable power cord, standard 8-1/2 provided, or special 20 also available, in line or low voltage: NRS (8.5 ft.) Line Voltage, Rail Mounted: 120 volt pendant cord assembly - providing rail NRS (20 ft.) attachment, 8-1/2 or 20 adjustable cord, socket, and 40W G9 lamp/bulb with shield (lamp included). 6 POWER This is a line voltage system (120 volt) so no transformer is needed between the power source and the Rail. Power can be conducted from your power source to the Rail system through different lengths of flexible power cable, or through a variety of hard stems that come in different lengths, some telescopic, and carry the conductive wires. FLAT CEILING CANOPY FOR POWER STEMS: NRS90-P13 Fits over the power supply (J-Box), and attaches to the power stems. VAULTED CEILING CANOPY FOR POWER STEMS: NRS90-P10 Fits over the power supply (J-Box) for vaulted ceilings, and attaches to the power stems. POWER STEMS FOR FLAT OR VAULTED CEILINGS - Provides 120 volt power to the Rail and must be used with the NRS90-P13 flat canopy or NRS90-P10 vaulted canopy (Ensure your power stem is the same length as your support stems, or cable connectors): NRS90-P11 3 Power Stem. NRS90-P14 4 Power Stem. NRS90-P17 7-1/2 to 11-1/2 Telescopic Power Stem. NRS90-P87 12 to 24 Telescopic Power Stem. NRS90-P /4 to 48 Telescopic Power Stem. NRS90-P /4 to 96 Telescopic Power Stem. VERTICAL WALL CANOPY - Rail can attach directly into this canopy, and is usually used on a vertical wall: NRS90-P40 Fits over the power supply (J-Box), and attaches the rail directly to the canopy. Used for vaulted ceilings, vertical attachment to walls, or areas where power supplies and rail do not line up easily: NRS90-P80 Round canopy with side fitting adjustable 18 flexible power cord that attaches to the Rail (Utilize for power supply only, and not for Rail ceiling support). NRS90-P90 Round canopy with center fitting adjustable 10-6 flexible power cord that attaches to the Rail (Utilize for power supply only, and not for Rail ceiling support). NRS90-P91 Round canopy with center fitting adjustable 10-6 flexible power cord and adjoining adjustable support cable. QuickJack Low Voltage Vaulted Ceiling Canopy: To install an individual pendant or fixture on a sloped or vaulted ceiling, with a maximum of 45 degrees. 12 volt canopy with an incorporated integral transformer and a female QuickJack adapter.
