If you re interested in designing and implementing plant displays for domestic and commercial purposes, recognising and treating plant diseases, and using tools and equipment out in the field, a career in horticulture is for you. CERTIFICATE II IN HORTICULTURE (AHC20416) This course is a great place for you to start your horticultural career. You will acquire the skills to gain employment in the diverse horticultural industry. Classes are practically orientated. You will gain hands on experience by working hands on outdoors. You will learn machinery operations, how to operate and maintain chainsaws, planting, pruning and many more skills to make you job ready. There are no prerequisites for this course. opportunities including gardening labourer or an apprentice in the fields of landscape construction, nursery production, parks and gardens or turf. After successful completion, you may wish to apply for entry into Certificate III in Horticulture or related study area. CERTIFICATE II IN LANDSCAPING (AHC21616) This course gives you the essential skills you need to enter the Landscape construction industry. This course will develop your skills in paving, machinery operation, low profile retaining wall construction and other skills relevant to landscaping. This course has significant practical components with a focus on employability skills. You must possess the communication skills and physical ability to perform practical work placement in industry. opportunities as Landscape worker. CERTIFICATE II IN CONSERVATION AND LAND MANAGEMENT (AHC21016) This course is a great place for you to start your career in Conservation Land Management. You will acquire the skills to gain employment in this expanding industry. Classes are practically orientated. You will gain hands on experience by undertaking practical work outdoors. 7 DIPLOMA OF CONSERVATION AND LAND MANAGEMENT (AHC51116) This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge you will need for a career in conservation and land management. This level course will prepare you for a role in a management position with technical level skills in land management. You will develop skills to be able to manage staff, manage fauna populations, monitor biodiversity, develop a management plan for a designated area, conduct biological surveys, collect and classify plants and develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability. Students are enrolled in LN Support program units based on their Core Skills Diagnostic Test. When students have successfully completed these units, they receive a Box Hill Institute Statement of Attainment.
