Ecology Surveys looking for protected species along the line of the route Construction of new habitat sites for wildlife Archaeology surveying and investigations Highways alterations to increase capacity and address safety concerns Fencing of land temporarily and permanently acquired for HS2 Ground investigations to improve the understanding of what is below ground Utilities works on services such as gas, electricity and water Construction of Great Missenden Haul Road (a temporary road for construction traffic)

33 Archaeology Grim s Ditch project plan June Setting survey with drone to record scheduled monument setting a few days with non intrusive site survey Summer Trial trenches (1 or 2) in the woodland of the monument. Followed by further trenching (up to 70) on land around the ditch to assess monument and surrounding area Autumn Tree clearance Late 2018 to Spring Excavation of the ditch and possible further excavation of area around monument if needed
