PRECAUTIONS: Only operate your bennett read Hydro in accordance with the instruction manual. Failure to follow these instructions will result in decreased cleaning performance and may invalidate your guarantee. Do not operate your Hydro if the power cable is damaged Always operate the unit with the power cable fully unwound Unplug your Hydro before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning Keep your Hydro away from open flames Never vacuum any substance that is hotter than 50 C Do not operate under the influence of alcohol or narcotics Other than routine cleaning of the unit and filters, refer the unit to any of our nationwide certified service centres for maintenance and servicing When water in the unit becomes dirty during operation, replace with clean water to ensure optimum filtration Carpets and household surfaces have residual detergents present. Always add 3 capfuls of bennett read Hydro de-foamer to clean filter water before vacuuming. This is to ensure that the residual detergents in carpets do not cause blockages to the filtration system ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: Your Hydro comes almost fully assembled and requires very little set up: 1. Remove unit from packaging 2. Remove attachments from their packaging 3. Some of the packaging poses a choking risk to small children. Dispose of the packaging responsibly. Recycle if possible 4. Before using for the first time check that all attachments listed are included. If the unit is incomplete, return to the retailer immediately. Take entire unit, packaging and proof of purchase to the store where your purchase was made READY TO VACUUM? Your Hydro uses the very latest water-filtration technology. As you vacuum, dust, dirt, and allergens are sucked from the surfaces in your home and the dirty air mixture is passed through the water. The dirt is then dissolved/absorbed into the water, allowing clean air to exit the machine. 6.

To provide you with further peace of mind we have included a washable Advanced Microparticle Filter in your bennett read Hydro. This filter is designed to trap any microscopic dirt and dust that may escape filtration in the water. This is particularly useful when the water filter has been working hard and is becoming saturated. Many allergies could be avoided by removing allergens from the surfaces of your home. Your Hydro is perfect for families that suffer from allergies brought about by household allergens. The Hydro s unique combination of filters ensures that almost all allergens in your home are removed. This results in clean, healthy air allowing you and your family to breathe easier! Dirt, dust and allergens are trapped in the water filter and then removed when you throw the dirty water away! DRY VACUUMING: Your bennett read Hydro vacuum is perfect for vacuuming carpets, tiles, mattresses, upholstery, curtains and car upholstery. The powerful suction and exceptional combination of filters ensures that all the dirt in your home is sucked up, filtered and only clean, healthy air is returned back into your home. SETTING UP YOUR HYDRO FOR DRY VACUUMING: 1. Remove the motor unit (3) from the water tank (7) by lifting the locking clips (10) upwards 2. Remove water separator assembly (5) and separator bowl (6) from tank 3. Fill water up to water max-level indicator (11). Do not overfill 4. Add 3 capfuls of bennett read Hydro de-foamer (22). The de-foamer is important as it stops the formation of foam in the water filter. This protects the Hydro from blockages and damage 5. Replace water separator assembly (5) and bowl (6) 6. Replace motor unit (3) and clip locks in place (10) 7. Insert end of hose (13) into vacuum function hose port (9) 8. Lock in place by twisting hose clockwise 9. Attach aluminium telescopic extension wand (15) to free end of vacuum handle 10. Attach choice of cleaning head (16), (17), (18), (19) or (20) to free end of extension wand 11. Unwind power cable and plug into wall socket 12. Switch on unit using the power switch (1) 13. Adjust suction power using the variable suction power control (2). Maximum setting gives you the greatest suction power. Use a lower setting for more delicate surfaces 14. Vacuum in different directions across your surfaces to give you best results 7.

After each cleaning session it is recommended that the water tank be emptied and thoroughly rinsed and dried before storing the unit. This will ensure that the unit continues to deliver outstanding performance time and again. CLEANING OF THE BENNETT READ HYDRO: 1. Unplug from the electricity supply 2. Take unit to drain or disposal area 3. Lift locking clips (10) to unlock water filter tank 4. Lift motor unit (3) from water tank and place on ground 5. Remove water separator assembly (5) and bowl (6) 6. Lift water tank (7) and empty contents into drain or disposal area 7. Rinse water tank under running water and dry 8. Rinse water separator assembly (5) and bowl (6) and check for any blockages 9. It is necessary to wash the Advanced Microparticle Filter (4) regularly To remove the Advanced Microparticle Filter, turn the motor unit (3) upside down Grasp the Advanced Microparticle Filter, twist anti-clockwise and remove Wash the filter in warm water Allow water filter to dry completely before re-installation Replacement Advanced Microparticle Filters are available from the retail outlet where you purchased your Hydro 10. Reassemble and store, ready to use! WET VACUUMING: Your bennett read Hydro can also suck up small wet spills in and around your home. Wet spills can be responsible for harsh odours in your home and can also promote the growth of mildew, bacteria and fungi. Please note that your Hydro is NOT a carpet deep cleaner. Carpet deep cleaning should be done with specialised deep cleaners. We recommend the Bissell range of deep cleaners (visit www.bissell.co.za for more info). 7. Attach wet spill suction head (21) to free end of extension wand 8. Unwind power cable and plug into wall socket 9. Switch on unit using the power switch (1) 10. Adjust suction power using the variable suction power control (2) 11. Vacuum wet spill from surface Do not put water into the tank before vacuuming wet spills When you are done, follow the cleaning instructions as outlined above *The bennett read Hydro is a wet and dry vacuum cleaner but is not designed to deal with large amounts of liquids. The water tank may only contain liquids up to the water max-level as per page 3, point 11. Exceeding the water max-level can cause serious damage to your Hydro and will void the guarantee. Vacuuming up hot liquids with your Hydro will cause damage to the machine and will void the guarantee. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Nominal voltage: 220-230V AC Nominal frequency: 50/60 Hz Nominal power: 1400 W GUARANTEE: The bennett read Hydro has a two year guarantee against manufacturing defects and faults.
