The Southern Boulevard Temporary Bridge, Flagler Drive and Southern Boulevard will be closed for brief periods between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday, Oct. 22, to Saturday, Oct. 27, and between Monday, Oct. 29, to Friday, Nov. 2, as load testing is performed on test drill shafts south of the temporary bridge. The duration of the closures will be approximately 10 to 20 minutes and will occur on Flagler Drive from Flagler Promenade North to Harbor Towers & Marina Condominiums and on Southern Boulevard from Washington Road to State Road A1A/South Ocean Boulevard. TO NORTH TOWN LIMITS) Comcast There are no impacts to report. Florida Power & Light There are impacts to report for the FPL work. PHASE 2 NORTH (OSCEOLA WAY TO ONONDAGA AVE) FPL WORK NORTH LAKE WAY--Horizontal directional drilling to continue from Reef Road south to Ocean Terrace for the installation of FPL, COMCAST, & AT&T conduits. REEF ROAD--Horizontal directional drilling from North Lake Way east approximately 300 LF to the first transformer. DOLPHIN ROAD--Horizontal directional drilling from North Lake Way east approximately 350 LF to the first transformer.
SEAGATE ROAD--Horizontal directional drilling from North Lake Way east approximately 250 LF to the first transformer. "LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY", one lane of traffic to be maintained on all roads being worked on in both phases. If you have any questions please let me know. (3) ROYAL PALM WAY IRRIGATION IMPROVEMENTS: Continuing through October the Town s contractor will be working in the medians on Royal Palm Way from the Royal Park Bridge east to S. Ocean Blvd. The median cuts are expected to be closed as needed. There are no anticipated lane closures. Flaggers, advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will be present to assist with traffic flow. (4) RECREATION CENTER PROJECT (Construction): Construction of the Town s Recreation Center building will continue. The public is cautioned to be aware of multiply large trucks leaving the site and traveling on Royal Palm Way (westbound traffic) as construction continues on the Recreation Center s foundations. The Town s construction manager for this project is Hedrick Brothers Construction. (5) FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT STREETLIGHT INSTALLATION: (SOUTH OCEAN BOULEVARD from Sloan s Curve to Lake Ave): Florida Power and Light contractors will continue installing streetlights on South Ocean Boulevard from Sloan's Curve south to Lake Avenue. The streetlight installation is anticipated to be completed by late September 2018. During the installation of the streetlights, the contractor will be periodically closing the southbound lane of South Ocean Boulevard. Please be aware and follow all advanced warning signs and traffic control devices. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic as needed. (Onondaga Ave. north to the Northern Town Limits): Florida Power and Light contractors will continue installation of streetlights in the North end of the Town from Onondaga Ave. north to E. Inlet Dr. The streetlight installations in this location are anticipated to be completed by late October 2018. During the installation of the streetlights, the contractor will be periodically closing one lane portions of North Ocean Boulevard, North Lake Way, East Inlet Drive, and Onondaga Ave. Please be aware and follow all advanced warning signs and traffic control devices. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic as needed. (6) SIGNALIZATION AND MAST ARM IMPROVEMENTS: At the intersections of Cocoanut Row and Clarke Avenue and at Bradley Place and Sunrise Avenue the Town s contractor will continue with the mast arm and signalization improvements project. The contractor will be closing the west end of Clarke Avenue and Sunrise Avenue to through traffic for foundation installation and installation of signal conduit. They will also be closing a lane on Bradley Place at Sunrise Avenue as part of the signalization project. Please be aware and follow all advanced warning signs and traffic control devices. Flaggers will be
present to direct traffic as needed. Pedestrians should be aware of this work and follow the construction signage as the sidewalks will be closed for the construction. (7) AT&T: Starting Monday October 8, 2018, AT&T and their contractor will be directional boring on Cocoanut Row between Royal Palm Way and Australian Avenue: The parallel parking spaces will be blocked on the west side of Cocoanut Row for construction equipment from the Northwest corner of Royal Palm Way to the Northwest corner of Australian Avenue. The Pedestrian sidewalk will be blocked on west side of Cocoanut Row beginning at the Northwest corner of Royal Palm Way to the Northwest corner of Australian Ave and pedestrians will be diverted to east side of Cocoanut Row. Two way Traffic will be maintained on Cocoanut Row North/South from Royal Palm Way to Australian Avenue with flagmen in place for safety. Two-way vehicle Traffic on Brazilian Avenue East/West will remain at the intersection of Cocoanut Row with the parking spaces on north side of Brazilian Avenue west of Cocoanut Row blocked for construction equipment. One-way traffic eastbound will be maintained on Australian Avenue at the intersection of Cocoanut Row with the parking spaces on the North side of Australian Ave starting at Cocoanut Row blocked for construction equipment. For the installment of an AT&T hand hole, the pedestrian sidewalk on the north side of Australian Avenue from Hibiscus Avenue to Cocoanut Row will be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured to the sidewalk on the south side of Australian Avenue between Hibiscus Avenue to Cocoanut Row. One-way traffic on Australian Avenue will be maintained and parking spaces at the location of the AT&T handhole location will be temporarily unavailable. (8) TOWN WIDE ROYAL PALM TRIMMING: There will be limited lane closures with periodic blocking of parking stalls. Flaggers, advance warning signs and traffic control devices will be present to assist with traffic flow. NO PARKING signs will be used and enforced to insure access to trees. The following streets and roadways will be affected: Monday October 22th- Friday October26th Town Hall Square, Several individual trees located on residential streets from Bermuda Lane to Sea Spray. (9) TREE PLANTING ON HIBISCUS AVENUE: We will be installing a new tree on Hibiscus across from Apollo parking lot. There will be limited lane closures, flaggers and advance warning signs. The project should be completed on or before Friday October 26th. (10) NORTH COUNTY ROAD MEDIANS (WELLS ROAD TO MIRAFLORES) Work will involve installation of new sod. Flaggers and advance warning signs will be present. This project will be ongoing throughout the week and should be completed by Friday October26th. (11) STORM PUMP STATION MAINTENANCE (Clarendon Avenue at Lake Park Drive): The Town s Public Works, Water Resources Department will be performing routine maintenance on the Town s D-17 Strom water Pump station at the end of Clarendon Avenue.
The connection of Clarendon Avenue to Lake Park Drive will be close to through traffic. Access to residence properties will be maintained. (12) FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT (SOUTHERN BOULEVARD ROUNDABOUT): Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) contract crews will be performing construction work in Palm Beach from Monday, Oct. 8 through Friday, Nov. 2, resulting in a temporary lane closure to prepare the area for underground service. To accommodate this work, one lane westbound on Southern Boulevard will be temporarily closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the above dates, beginning just before the roundabout near the A1A curve to just after the roundabout near the Intracoastal Waterway. The roundabout will remain fully open throughout the project. No power interruptions are anticipated. FPL apologizes for any inconvenience while the company works to ensure continued service reliability for its customers. Call 561-495-7668 for additional information. TOWN REMINDERS: 1. Private construction projects are limited to three (3) on-street parking permits. Adherence to this rule will improve the effectiveness of the crews collecting vegetation from the right of way. 2. Landscape contractors and residents; regular collection schedules have resumed, per ordinance, during the months of May through and including the month of October, trash may be placed on the public right-of-way, adjacent to the property from which it came, not more than three days prior to the scheduled day of collection. RIGHT-OF-WAY PERMITS: 1. There will be a lane closure by AT&T located South County Road and Peruvian Avenue for use of the road right of way to access an existing manhole to do work. The work is scheduled to begin on July 31, 2018 and end of October 30, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-01602. 2. There will be a lane closure and lane restriction on Cocoanut Row by AT&T for use of the road right of way to access manholes to facilitate placement of new fiber optic cable. The work is scheduled to begin on September 5, 2018 and end on November 21, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-01839. 3. There will be lane closure on Bradley Place (East Side) for use of the road right of way for access to manholes and a directional bore for installation of conduit. The work is scheduled to begin on September 5, 2018 and end on November 21, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-01838. 4. There will lane closures by AT&T on Cocoanut Row and Australian Avenue for use of the road right of way for accessing manholes and installing hand holes along Cocoanut Row and Australian Avenue. The work is scheduled to begin on September 7, 2018 and end on November 21, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U- 18-01839.
5. There will be lane closure located at 760 North Ocean Boulevard for use of the road right of way to bury fiber optic cable from the existing hand hole going under two (2) driveways by directional bore method. The work is scheduled to begin on October 18, 2018 and end on November 7, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Number U-18-02141. 6. There will be a periodic lane closures Town wide for use of the road right of way for trimming palm trees. The work started on September 17, 2018 and will end on December 31, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-02014. 7. There will be lane closures located at Royal Palm Way, Royal Poinciana Way and Cocoanut Row and various locations for use of the road right of way by Zimmerman Tree Service. The work is begin done as a Town contractor and they will be doing tree trimming and removals utilizing bucket trucks and chippers. The work is scheduled to begin on October 15, 2018 and will end on December 31, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-02143. 8. There will be lane closure located at 1695 North Ocean Way for use of the road right of way. The use of the right of way is for loading and unloading materials and equipment. The work is scheduled to begin on October 3, 2018 and will end on November 2, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-02098. 9. There will be a lane closure located at 113 East Inlet Drive for use of the road right of way. The use of the right of way is for loading and unloading a backhoe and materials. The work is scheduled to begin on October 16, 2018 and will end on October 22, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-02134. 10. There will be a lane closure located at 330 Seaspray Avenue for use of the road right of way for unloading and loading deliveries. The work is schedule to begin on October 12, 2018 and will end on November 11, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-02142. 11. There will be a lane closure located at 254 Tangier Avenue for use of the road right of way with a crane to hoist trees over the residence to be planted in the back yard. The work is scheduled to begin on October 24, 2018 and will end on October 26, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-02164. 12. There will be a lane closure located on Cocoanut Row and Seaview Avenue by AT&T s contractor for use of the road right of way for a directional bore for the installation of three conduits. The work is scheduled to begin on October 18, 2018 and will end on November 19, 2018. The work is authorized by U-18-02154. 13. There will be lane closure located at 365 North County Road for use of the road right of way with a crane to unload plantings from a truck. The work is scheduled to begin on October 18, 2018 and will end on October 22, 2018. The work is authorized by Right of Way Permit Number U-18-02161.
14. There will be lane closure located at 1906 South Ocean Boulevard for use of the road right of way for milling and re-surfacing of a portion of South Ocean Boulevard. The work is schedule to begin on October 26, 2018 and will end on October 31, 2018.
