Number of pages: 3 / 8 1. Maintenance of composite materials with gel coat Basin Floor Ceiling Niches The bathroom you have just purchased has been designed with materials selected to bear intensive wear. Nonetheless, to preserve their original appearance for a long time we recommend you to follow this advice: - In order to prevent fouling up both basin and shower base have to be maintained on a daily basis after use. It is enough to clean with soapy - If the scale resists, use white vinegar once a week. Let the vinegar do its work for 20 minutes and rinse with clean - For disinfecting the composite materials, bleach diluted 2/3 with water will allow treatment without damage. - In case of cigarette burns or scratches: Lightly abrade the damaged zone with waterproof glasspaper grit 1200 (which can be supplied with a repair kit from ALTOR Industrie). Do not abrade down to the glass fibre Polish with polishing paste (available on order from ALTOR Industrie) - In case of large splinters, contact ALTOR Industrie on 02 40 36 16 67, send a fax to 02 40 36 16 78 or an e-mail to sav@altor-industrie.com - In case of doubt, send to ALTOR Industrie a sample of your maintenance s to have it tested by the manufacturer of sanitary GELCOAT to the attention Quality Service. Do not use caustic soda and ammoniac. 2. Maintenance of the metal parts, stainless steel and PVC sheets Doorframe and threshold Stainless steel accessories PVC sheet Towel dryer The doorframes and thresholds* are washed with Soapy Wipe with a soft cloth after rinsing with clear The stainless steel accessories* get their brightness back with a cloth wetted with domestic alcohol. The PVC-coated sheets are maintained with Soapy

Number of pages: 4 / 8 The towel dryers are maintained with a cloth wetted with glass cleaning. Never use acetone on these surfaces to avoid rapid discolorations as well as to avoid burning PVC sheets. 3. Maintenance of the plastic, melamine, or lacquered items* PVC accessory, seats Spotlights Electric and razor points Toilet seat Hinges Nurse s bell Door Tablet(s) Clean the PVC accessories, light diffusers, melamine tablets*, and doors with glass cleaning first vaporised on a cloth. The nurse s bells and surrounds of electric and razor points* are maintained with a soft, dry cloth. For the toilet seats clean with cold soapy water and dry with a soft fabric. For disinfecting, bleach diluted 2/3 with water will provide treatment without damage. The shower screen PVC pivots* and door hinges must be lightly lubricated twice a year to work properly. Never use solvent-based or chlorine-based s (such as hydrochloric acid) or concentrated acids. 4. Maintenance of hygiene seals Clean the deal with a fabric wetted with white vinegar or methylated spirits and rinse. Depending on wear, no more than every 2 years change this hygiene seal so as to ensure your sanitary unit stays watertight. Acetone should be avoided as it is corrosive for the seal.

Number of pages: 5 / 8 5. Maintenance of the PVC mats* First remove the dust and then wipe with a wet cloth (using a traditional cleaning if necessary). In case of stubborn stains use a little very diluted bleach, white spirit, or domestic alcohol. Avoid wax or vitrifying varnish. Do not use acetone or chlorine solvents (type trichlorethylene) either which dissolve the PVC material. 6. Maintenance of glazed surfaces Mirror by itself Toilet cabinet mirror Shower screen glass The mirrors and shower screen partition* are maintained with common s for glass available in the shops, to be used with a soft cloth or a wipe. The mirrors must not be cleaned with acetone. 7. Maintenance of the shower curtain* Rub the stained surfaces with a soft brush soaked in white vinegar, clean with soapy water, and rinse. The shower curtain can also be washed in the washing-machine at 30 C. Leave it to dry thoroughly for best results.

Number of pages: 6 / 8 8. Maintenance of the tap fittings Washbasin mixer Shower mixer Shower head and tube Plughole Siphon For daily maintenance: Use a moist soft cloth, if necessary, slightly soapy water on the shower head and tube, as well as on the taps. Regularly empty the shower and basin plugholes. Clean the wash-basin siphon once a month. For more thorough maintenance, a special for chrome - boiled white vinegar (be careful about the vapours given off) mixed with water can also be effective. Allow the vinegar to do its work for 20 minutes and then rinse with clear If you use aerosols spray the cleaning solution on a cloth, and not directly on the items, so as to avoid any risk of damaging the assembled units. Rinse the remains of the well with clear Aerator Filter Check valve Head Maintenance of the aerator: To descale the aerator remove it by inserting a cloth between the metal and the pliers so as not to damage the chrome. Take the screen ring off and then soak it in warm alcohol vinegar to clean it. Maintenance of the filters and check valves: These items should also be soaked in white vinegar to eliminate any remaining scale. Maintenance of the shower head: Use white vinegar to soak the shower head the whole of one night. Rinse the following day. Above all, do not use ammoniac-based or acetate-based s, or corrosive s. Do not use a steam cleaner which may damage the.

Number of pages: 7 / 8 9. Maintenance of the ceramic materials* wash-basin toilet pan The ceramic sanitary units have non-porous, very dense surfaces, with a good resistance to scratches just as to all domestic acid and caustic s. The basin and the toilet pan are maintained very easily with a sponge and soapy water or a standard maintenance. In the case of scale deposits the best plan is just to use white vinegar more or less diluted. If the stains are really stubborn, wet a piece of a domestic wipe with white vinegar and leave it to work on the stains the whole night. For disinfecting, bleach diluted 2/3 with water will provide treatment without damage. Moreover, a certain number of effective descaling s are available in the shops. It is sufficient to let it work for a short moment before rinsing. Never use anti-scale or soda-based, or hydrochloric, citric, formic or hydrofluoric acidbased s or their derivatives (e.g.: anti-rust ). 10. Maintenance of the polymer cement* Put a bit of black soap or washing-up liquid on a sponge moistened with tepid water, or a little domestic alcohol half diluted with For disinfecting, dilute bleach with 3/4 of water (above all do not use it undiluted). Do not use undiluted bleach, lemon or vinegar, above all if the polymer cement is coloured, for these s can result in discolorations of your material. 11. Biennial maintenance of the CMV vent Take down the CMV vent and immerge it in soapy water for about fifteen minutes. Clean with a brush, rinse in clear water, and dry with a clean cloth.

Number of pages: 8 / 8 12. Maintenance of bathroom cabinets* Models of bathroom cabinets Cabinet hinge Wipe a little diluted domestic alcohol on the whole of the cabinet if made of metal*. For a cabinet made of a quite different material, a glass cleaning on a cloth will be sufficient. Maintain the mirror with a standard glass cleaning (see para. 6). The hinges should receive a little lubricant once or twice a year. Precautions for use: Respect the maximum loads recommended; handle the doors without brutality, and avoid leaning on the cabinet or holding onto the doors to stand up. The mirrors must not be cleaned with acetone. Do not use a steam cleaner.
