1 Technical data 1. Technical data Measuring technique: Indophenol blue method, derived from DIN 38406 E5 Measuring ranges: AMTAX inter 2 2: 0.02 2.00 mg/l NH 4 -N AMTAX inter 20 2: 0.1-20 mg/l NH 4 -N AMTAX inter 80 2: 2.0-80 mg/l NH 4 -N Measuring error: AMTAX inter 2 2: ± 4 % of the measured value ± 0.02 mg/l NH 4 -N AMTAX inter 2 20/80: ± 2 % of the measured value ± 0.02 mg/l NH 4 -N Measuring interval: Measured value display: Calibration: Inspection interval: User maintenance: 5 or 10 min (choice on contin. sample supply) Graphics monitor with curve display Automatic at selectable intervals 6 months Approx. 1 h / week, typically Reagent supply: Reagents: 4-8 weeks depending on interval Null/standard solution: 12 months Cleaning solution: 3-6 months depending on interval Outputs: Ambient temp.: + 5 C to + 40 C Mains connection: Power consumption: Dimensions: (W x H x D) Mass: Miscellaneous: 2 current outputs: 0/4...20 ma, max. 500 Ω 2 limit value contacts: floating, 24 V 1A Interface: bus support (optional) 230 V AC / 50 Hz Approx. 215 VA (incl. cooling unit) 550 x 1,190 x 390 mm Approx. 43 kg (without reagents) Auto-cleaning facility, data logger 1.1 Applications The AMTAX inter 2 process photometers are suitable for the determination of + NH 4 ions in aqueous solutions (drinking water, waste water, process water and surface water). For the best possible adaptation to the application conditions, there are three different measuring ranges. The measured value (or two measured values in 2-channel operation) is/are displayed in mg/l NH 4 -N using a graphics monitor. Conversion formula: NH 4 -N : NH 4 + = 1 : 1,288 Samples containing solids must be pre-treated prior to entry into the process instrument: - Recommendable for the activated sludge tank and post sewage treatment area is FILTRAX. - For the pre-sewage treatment and feed area, ultrafiltration or similar methods have proven satisfactory 2

3 Installation 3. Installation 3.1 Dimensions Mounting bracket Holes for wall mounting Connection nipple for drip tray waste hose Thermostat regulator Note: To maintain the temperature in the required range, the regulator on the thermostat for the cooling unit must always be at 5-6. If the mounting bracket, referred to the bottom edge, is fitted 50 cm from the floor, then the display is approximately at eye height. Perform the following steps with an assistant: Lay mains cable for the refrigerator to the exterior. Set thermostat regulator to 5-6 Connect drip tray waste hose (8/11) Place measuring instrument on the refrigerator and fasten using the locking bolts 3.2 Installation environment Install in a dry place without direct exposure to sunlight. AMTAX inter 2 FILTRAX (sample treatment) Hole spacing Separate instrument waste Common waste pipe Note: Each process instrument must have a separate waste hose! The individual instrument wastes are only allowed to be combined in a larger waste pipe with regular through flow of water! 4
3 Installation 3.3 Electrical connections Note: If the mains connector is removed from the mains cable and replaced by fixed wiring, then a suitable, clearly marked, two-pole isolator for the power supply must be fitted. Blanking plugs for the fibre optic from the SEDITAX 2 3 cable glands for screened signal connection cables Front plate Terminals for screening Connection plate SEDITAX 2 fibre optic connection Bottom limit value contact (MIN), Illustration shows relay de-energised Top limit value contact (MAX ), Illustration shows relay de-energised Current output 1 Current output 2 Optional interface for MODBUS, PROFIBUS Note: All signal connection cables connected must be screened!
