HYDROCIAT LWN The HYDROCIAT LWN chilled water production units without condenser are designed to be connected to air or water cooled condensers. They can be connected to several models of our range of air cooled condensers EUROPA 2C. 12 models : LWN 1200BZ - 1200BZ HPS - 1500BZ - 1500BZ HPS -1800BZ - 1800BZ HPS - 2150BZ - 2150BZ HPS - 2500BZ - 2500BZ HPS - 2800BZ - 2800BZ HPS. HYDROCIAT LWP The design of the HYDROCIAT LWP water/water heat pump range is identical to HYDROCIAT LW. These machines provide solutions for a wide range of heating problems. They can also be used in cooling operation by reversing the cycle on the hydraulic circuits. 1
DESCRIPTION HYDROCIAT LW - LWP Water cooled chillers Compressors Accessible hermetic twin screw type Optimized profile of rotors ensuring high efficiency Electrical motor incorporated with part winding start Integral electronic protection fo motor Control of the phases balance and rotation direction Integrated overpressure valve Discharge temperature control Lubrication under controlled pressure 3-stage integrated oil separator Crankcase heater Thin filter at intake Discharge valve Slide for modulating continued output capacity control Assembly on antivibration mounts Integrated oil separator Installed at the compressor discharge The large amount of oil injected during the compression cycle necessitates the use of an oil separator. Oil, after separation from the refrigerant, is filtered before being injected into the compressor. Note : The refrigerant oil has several important roles to ensure the smooth running of the compressor. It : Lubricates bearings and moving parts and eradicates any direct contact between parts. Ensures a secure tightness between the different mechanical parts, thereby guaranteeing good volumetric output. Cools the compressor by direct oil injection into the gas volume being compressed. If required, the cooling of oil allows gas discharge temperature to be limited. Evaporator High performance copper tubes bundle Steel tubular plates Steel shell Corrosion-resistant baffles Thermal insulation with polyurethane foam Water cooled condenser High performance copper tubes bundle Carbon steel shell Carbon steel tubular plates Removable cast iron headers Safety valves on the refrigerant circuits HPS (High Power System) on LW/LWP/LWN...HPS models The HPS system allows a significant increase in the cooling capacity, improving the performance coefficients (EER) of your installation, particulary in part load, and therefore ensuring an optimal operation of the unit all year round. HYDROCIAT LWN The HYDROCIAT LWN range of water chillers without condenser is derived from the HYDROCIAT LW. These units can be connected either to water or air cooled condensers.they can be combined with several models of our EUROPA 2C air cooled condensers range (see technical brochure). HYDROCIAT LWN are supplied with a nitrogen safety refrigerant charge. Accessories Identical to those of the HYDROCIAT LW HYDROCIAT LWP The HYDROCIAT LWP water-water heat pump range has the same design as the HYDROCIAT LW. The calories are taken from the natural water network (ground water,...) or from a water loop and are sent to the heating network through the thermodynamic circuit, instead of being discharged by a cooling tower as is the case with the water chiller. These water-water heat pumps can be used for cooling by reversing the cycle on the water circuits (modification of the hydraulic circuits to be made on site). Accessories Identical to those of the HYDROCIAT LW OPTIONS HYDROCIAT LW - LWP - LWN LOW NOISE version : acoustically lined housing compressors Antivibration equipment : - antivibration mounts - evaporator flexible sleeves - condenser flexible sleeves (LW - LWP) - refrigerant flexible sleeves (LWN) Compressor isolating suction valves Condenser water headers Heating recovery with brazed plates desuperheaters (1 for each refrigerant circuit - LW - LWP only) Low temperature glycol water Electronic expansion valve Progressive soft start Reduced height version Remote control unit Voltage-free contact relay board Management of several units - MULTICONNECT (LW - LWP only) LonWorks gateway Shackles Discharge pressure control valves (LWN split - system unit): necessary if the unit has to run for external air temperature below 12 C or if the unit has to start for water temperature below 20 C on condenser side (one valve on each refrigerant circuit). These valves are fitted on the unit for sizes 1200BZ (HPS) to 1800BZ (HPS) and delivered separately (to be fitted on site by customer) for sizes 2150BZ (HPS) to 2800BZ (HPS). 3

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ASSEMBLY HYDROCIAT LW - LWP Installation HYDROCIAT LW - LWP are designed for indoor installation and must be protected from adverse weather and frost. A free space of 1 meter must be left all around the unit for access to the electrical panel and other components. A free space on one side is also necessary (equal to the length of the unit) in case one of heat exchangers needs to be removed. Sound level problems should be studied in detail. Before installing the unit, study and if necessary treat (with the assistance of a sound technicien) the various possible noise transmissions in relation to the premises and its structure. If necessary the machine should be equipped with anti-vibration mounts and flexible connections (recommended and proposed as an option). Electrical connections All the indications necessary for the electrical connections are mentioned on the electrical diagram enclosed with the unit (to be respected). These connections must be made in accordance with accepted engineering practice and conform to the regulations in force. Leave the control circuit switched on to allow operation of the crankcase heater. The electrical mains supply must be fitted with a fuse or circuit breaker protection (to be supplied by the fitter). Hydraulic connections Water connections must be made in accordance with good engineering practice. Provide the accessories necessary for hydraulic circuits : - Expansion vessel, - Drain cocks at low points, - Isolating valves, - Air vents at high points, etc..., - Check that the water content in the installation is sufficient, - Provide, if required, a buffer tank. Commissioning In accordance with our installation and maintenance brochure. Maintenance See our operating and maintenance guide. Subscribe a maintenance contract. Study with care the design (slope, diameter and trap to facilitate the return of oil to the compressor, particularly in part load). Fit refrigerant flexibles sleeves if the unit is mounted on antivibration mounts The length of connections between the 2 units will always be as short as possible (max. developped length : 15m, 6m of change in level; if indoubt, consult our technical departments).
