UL Standards for Safety Over 1,200 published Standards for Safety Over 80% of UL Standards are American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Developed using collaborative consensus process Not typically used by AHJs for code enforcement purposes 12

Product Investigation Request for certification (listing) by UL Initial manufacturer request received UL provides application forms Investigation opened Successful investigation results in product listing A separate investigation may be needed to address problems Costs and time frame 13
