Drying Summit Systems is the market leader in plastics drying technology with access to a wide range of brands and dryer types. Hygroscopic Material Dryers include Vacuum Batch Dryers, Low Energy Rotor Wheel Dryers, Dehumidifying Dryers, and Gravimetric Dryers. Blending & Dosing Summit Systems MD, Mike Jordan, met the inventor of the WSB (Weigh Scale Blender) and founder of Maguire, Steve Maguire, in America in 1989. The meeting led to Mike bringing the WSB concept to Europe. Summit Systems is now in its 3rd decade of partnership with Maguire, sharing a building in Tamworth. As Mike Jordan says: The WSB is a fantastic design which our customers find utterly reliable. Its accurate measurement has saved huge amounts of material and associated costs over the years. Why pay more for the gravimetric option? The image on the right shows three 180g samples of Masterbatch in 500ml containers. This illustrates perfectly the huge variance in bulk density between colours. BLENDING & DOSING This clearly shows the advantage of metering by weight compared to volume. Maguire invented and developed the gravimetric blender for the plastics industry in 1989. Since then, the company have been working closely with producers all over the world developing the technology for a multitude of applications. Over 55,000 have been sold worldwide, an accuracy still unequalled in the plastics industry. Machines that were installed over 25 years ago are still operating accurately, 24/7, which is a testament to the technology and quality of the design. Injection Moulding First to market to precisely blend virgin with both regrind and Masterbatch this is the ideal way to ensure your expensive additive is only added to your virgin and not your already coloured regrind. Film/Sheet Extrusion Special Applications For Film Extrusion, the blend is calculated differently to moulding, all the percentage ingredients must add up to 100%. With Sheet Extrusion, the blend is generally ratios and each material can be a percentage of the batch or each other.
