PHOTOSWITCH Photoelectric Sensors Series 7000 Description The Series 7000 is a family of compact general-purpose rectangular sensors that offer fast 500µs response times and a variety of sensing modes. Unique ClearSight TM 7000 Photoelectric Sensors are designed for the difficult detection of clear objects and films. Linear Polarized versions are optimized for clear film detection, Circular Polarized versions are intended for clear bottles and containers. Refer to page 1 160. Series 7000 Fixed Focus sensors with a choice of a Visible Red and Green Light Source may be suitable for some applications where small objects or printed color registration marks must be detected. Each Series 7000 sensor has a single red output indicator and complementary LO and DO outputs. Choice of NPN or PNP output is selected by catalog number. Each sensor has a clutch-protected four-turn adjustment potentiometer. Each sensor can be supplied with a 3m (9.8ft) four-conductor PVC cable or with a 4-pin DC micro-style quick disconnect on the end of a 300mm (12in) length cable ( pigtail ). Mating DC micro-style quick disconnect cables are available, refer to page 1 291. A custom Swivel/Tilt mounting bracket is available for the Series 7000. The sensor can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and the bracket allows the sensor to be tilted 10 in any direction and swiveled 360. In addition, two different right angle steel mounting brackets are available, see page 1 307. The Series 7000 LTD is a family of lower-cost sensors in the same compact rectangular housing. A comparison of standard and Series 7000 LTD sensors is shown below. For more information on the Series 7000 LTD sensors, refer to page 1 161. PHOTOSWITCH Photoelectric Sensors Series 7000 Transmitted Beam Infrared and Visible Red Light Sources are available. Infrared Light Sources will provide a longer sensing distance and higher margin. Crosstalk between Transmitted Beam pair can be avoided by alternating Infrared and Visible Red Light Sources. Narrow field of view Receivers are also available for both infrared and visible red Light Sources. PHOTOSWITCH Photoelectric Sensors ClearSight 7000 ÎÎ Ï ÎÎ Ï ClearSight TM 7000 photoelectric sensors are special purpose Polarized Retroreflective sensors designed for detection of clear objects and films. Linear Polarized versions are optimized for clear film detection, Circular Polarized versions are intended for clear bottles and containers. For optimum performance, the ClearSight 7000 should be used with the included 92 90 reflector. While ClearSight 7000 photoelectric are suitable for basic applications, Allen-Bradley also offers other sensors with higher levels of optical performance for more difficult clear targets.
