As part of the SmartGridCity Device Pilot, you have agreed to participate in Xcel Energy. Device (IHD) participants have greater insight into their household electricity consumption and more control over energy usage. Additionally, these events are designed to help us learn more about electricity usage behavior and how technology can support better ways to serve you while reducing overall environmental impact. During a Event, Xcel Energy will remotely turn off your Sockets and adjust your thermostat + 5 degrees during summer months if your thermostat is in Cooling mode. If your central AC is not turned on then just your Sockets will be turned off during a Event. These events will occur a maximum of 15 times in a calendar year, typically when energy demand is at a critical peak between the hours of 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. will be conducted on the same day as a Peak Energy Event*. For more information on Peak Energy, visit xcelenergy.com/smartgridcity. You will receive an email alert at the address you provided during set up and an alert message on your Home Base the day before a Event is scheduled so you can plan ahead. If you wish to participate in a Event either: Tap the Save Energy button on the Home Base Energy Alert screen or Click Learn more on the IHD web portal alert. Then click Save Energy. Or do nothing and you will automatically be opted in to the event You can opt out of a Event on the Home Base or the IHD web portal. If you have questions or require assistance, call 1-877-887-3339.
