RECOMMENDATION: Defer consideration of a request to amend SP #335 to permit modifications to the outdoor café and transportation management plan conditions for the Central Place development to the March 12, 2016, County Board meeting. ISSUES: The JBG Companies (the Applicant ) seeks approval of a site plan amendment to the Central Place development (SP #335) to allow for modifications to the outdoor café and transportation management plan conditions. DISCUSSION: The requested site plan seeks to modify the site plan conditions for the Central Place development to allow for alterations to the outdoor café provisions (Condition #67) and the County Manager: ##### County Attorney: ***** Staff: Aaron Shriber, DCPHD, Planning Division Joanne Gabor, DES, Transportation 2.

transportation management plan elements (Condition #51). Specifically, the Applicant requests that additional areas for outdoor cafes be permitted within the Central Place plaza and additional outdoor cafes areas adjacent to the residential and office buildings within the public sidewalks. Additionally, the Applicant seeks permission to reallocate portions of their transit contributions to other transportation modes, installation of a Capital Bikeshare station on the property, and to install digital transportation information displays in the buildings. The Applicant and staff continue to analyze the proposal and its associated impacts, and agree that a deferral is needed at this time. Therefore, staff recommends that the County Board defer consideration of this site plan amendment to its March 12, 2016 meeting. Outdoor café and TMP conditions - 2 -
