Industrial vacuum cleaners for stationary and mobile needs
At DISAB-TELLA we like to keep things clean As a market leading supplier of modern cleaning equipment for heavy industry, we have extensive experience and a high level of expertise. The focus of all of our activities is on the design, manufacture and marketing of vacuum plant primarily for industrial cleaning. From the very start in 1986 we have based our business in Vallentuna while expanding our production of vacuum technology. DISAB-TELLA s offices and workshop in Vallentuna. An increasing demand Our strength lies in that we are constantly working to be better at what we do. We are continually developing new models of industrial vacuum cleaners to meet the changing demands of industry. The demand for our environmentally friendly systems is constantly on the rise, and not just in Sweden. Today we are represented in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America.
Standard units and customised solutions Most of our customers are from the world of heavy industry. In order to meet the demands of the industry for robust, reliable, high vacuum units and filter separators, disab-tella has developed diverent series of standardised units in a range of power sizes. We have also standardised our complete range of mobile units. Our equipment is also available in dust explosion adapted designs as specified in the atex eu directive. Granulate suction for manufacturing of plastic mats with slip protection. Customised solutions Our production is based on a number of base models, but we also over tailored solutions and units. Having our own design department and production workshop means we can produce customised solutions adapted to suit particular needs. This could be anything from filter separators for special material, to diesel driven vacuum units adapted to suit the cross sections of the tunnels in the London Underground.
In-house design and development Working environment requirements are becoming more stringent and it has long been known that premises designed purely for production improve well-being and reduce the risk of injury. Moreover, dusty premises constitute a risk of dust explosion. An eu directive, (atex), has been evective for many years stipulating how plant and equipment is to be designed to handle and avoid dust explosions. We have our own design department and thereby have full control of the entire production process. This means we can ensure that all of our products maintain a high level of quality and are constantly being updated with all the changes, enhancements and cost reductions that can be put into evect. The introduction of atex has allowed us to see and implement the changes that were needed over a very short space of time. In order to meet the atex directive we also work in partnership with dnv (Det Norske Veritas). Manufacturing in own workshop All of our activities are carried out under the same roof which means good communications between all departments. You will find our workshop in close connection to the sales and design departments. Our customers are always welcome to visit and look at our production process. If you have any requirements for changes we will do our utmost to satisfy these even at the final stage of production. We make all electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic installations for the units in our own workshop. Before we deliver the units to the customer, we check, test run and document the resulting values carefully at maximum vacuum level for several hours. Air flow, vacuum, sound, vibration and other reports are included on delivery for use as control documents when conducting future services.
Service and maintenance Since the very beginning in 1986 we have been building up a service organisation in line with our production facilities. This is why we have been entrusted with maintaining our plant on site at a number of customers. With our extensive experience of the vacuum industry we are able to over services with comprehensive professional expertise. We also guarantee high operational reliability and a long service life for our customers equipment. Service agreements are adapted to suit each individual customer s needs. You can rest at ease when you employ our services. Accessories and spare parts At disab-tella we like to keep things clean, and moreover we think it should be easy to keep things clean. Therefore the possibility of being able to select the correct cleaning accessories for the right occasion is a prerequisite for effective cleaning. Our range has been designed to handle both tough industrial environments and the needs of lighter applications with the demands for quality and functionality that this entails. We have a wide range of products for everything from rough and heavy-duty cleaning, such as bulk suction in the 152 mm dimension, to lighter cleaning in the 38 mm dimension.
The use of industrial vacuum cleaners really took off at the beginning of the 1980s. Environmental thinking and consideration to the people working in dust generating environments has been driving development, initially in the cement industry, the paper and pump industry and mining and steelworks. Development has since spread into other customer groups and additional applications. Because of financial and environmental reasons, the trend today is to try to reuse as much of the vacuumed material as possible rather than dumping it. In recent years, the EU s ATEX directive relating to dust explosions has been driving development. Examples of users of our central vacuum cleaners follow below. Paper and pulp A demanding industry with large flows of raw materials that generate a lot of dust which is often flammable. Large areas with separate buildings for different processes need cleaning. In addition large amounts of spillage are typical in this industry. This requires powerful suction systems. Our systems are used here for handling wood, chipping and debarking as well as for handling fuel and soot removal in and around soda and bark-fired boilers. Our equipment is also used for cleaning of overhead cranes, conveyors for wood chip transport, as well as driers and paper-making machines. Belt conveyors with permanent cleaning system at a paper mill. Cement It would be difficult to come across a more dust generating activity than this one. In the cement industry our vacuum systems are used for cleaning and recycling dust and material spills around conveyors, screeners, crushers, bucket elevators and other machinery. Our suction units can work for the entire process from raw material to warehouse. They can handle limestone, clinker, cement, concrete spills, coal and other material. For flue gas cleaning it is mostly fly ash, lime and gypsum that is vacuumed. A parallel installation for cleaning in a concrete factory in Holland. 6
Concrete industry Dust is generated when mixing concrete, breaking stone and tumbling and when packing large volumes of material. Vacuum technology here is in a class of its own and the suction units are used generally for cleaning floors and machinery. An extremely demanding task as everything from cement to sand and large bits of concrete are vacuumed up, and transported in a closed vacuum system. A parallel installation for cleaning in a concrete factory in Holland. Aluminium industry An industry that has long since realised the benefits of using our powerful vacuum systems, principally for recycling raw materials from spills when unloading and transporting to the vacuuming of waste around furnaces. Furthermore, the vacuum units are used for cleaning when manufacturing anodes and handling coal. Mobile diesel driven vacuum unit for the aluminium industry in England. Cleaning and vacuum contractors These customers use our equipment in a range of environments where vacuum technology is by far the most beneficial both with respect to economy and from an environmental aspect. Examples of typical applications include: Decontamination commissions for industry Hazardous waste House foundations and sub-floors Street sweeping in difficult environments Excavation, uncovering cables and pipes etc. Equipment delivered to Australia for mounting on trucks for vacuum work in industrial cleaning.
Steel mills and the smelting industry Here our suction units are used for cleaning waste products for the entire process, from raw material handling, to furnace halls, sintering plant, coke oven plant, rolling mills and other applications. Our vacuum equipment is also used for cleaning dust deposits on overhead cranes, ladders and other construction structures. Using our fixed pipe system, we can cover the entire production process. In foundries our systems are used for transporting and recycling moulding sand, as well as for cleaning casting waste and for cleaning out pouring ladles. Both SSAB in Luleå and Oxelösund have a number of vacuum units supplied by us. Combined power and district heating plant We have vacuum equipment for this application that can handle both wet and dry material, which is a major benefit when cleaning combined power and district heating plants. Both dust and fuel spills are vacuumed up around conveyors as well as screeners and crushers. Ash and cinders are dealt with in the boiler houses. For flue gas cleaning this also includes fly ash, lime and gypsum. The expansion of bio-fuel fired and refuse disposal units together with the introduction of the atex directive has contributed to the increase in use of vacuum systems. Installation in a combined power and district heating plant for general cleaning and ash suction in connection with soot removal. Foodstuffs and bakeries Environments here also alternate between wet and dry and generate mixed dust that needs to be dealt with. Our equipment is used primarily for cleaning packaging waste on floors and in machinery as well as for handling raw materials. We cover everything from foodstuv manufacturers to major bakeries that demand powerful equipment to keep large areas with many users clean at all times. In bakeries it is vital to be able to clean conveyors, process pipes, cable runs, furnaces and other equipment without spreading additional dust. Our equipment is also used for returning flour from certain parts of production. Installation for general cleaning in the food industry. 8
Benefits using our vacuum suction units disab-tella overs safe, rational and financially beneficial solutions when environmentally friendly technologies are an alternative. Robust units, based on thoroughly tried and tested components guarantee many years of problem free operation. Vacuum units and filter separators from the same supplier, ensure that the vacuum levels, air flows, filter surfaces and separators are compatible with each other. This is why we are extremely careful in only selecting equipment that is intended for use with the material in question. In order to protect the vacuum equipment and the environment, we use a double filter system. A main filter in the filter separator is accompanied by a safety filter located at the inlet to the vacuum pump. In addition there is a mechanical vacuum trip that relieves the load if the vacuum level drops below the set value. Moreover there is a thermal relay that alerts and shuts the equipment down if the pump temperature gets too high. We deliver and install complete plant and pipe systems to our customers. By selecting the same supplier for the full central cleaning system, you ensure that the evect of the vacuum unit, the size of the filter surface, and the dimensioning of the pipe system are compatible with each other. This ensures that our systems work as intended at full capacity. 9
