Korea Marine Equipment Statistics Sales Volume Sales Volume Slips to 9.4 Trillion Won Sales Volume Trend 2002-2013 The sales volume of the 198 members of Korea Marine Equipment Association (KOMEA) reached 9.4 trillion won in 2013, a decline from 12.0 trillion won in 2012. KOMEA members roughly account for 80% of total Korean marine equipment sales. Production Production Stands at 9.8 Trillion Won Production Trend 2002-2013 KOMEA member companies posted 9.8 trillion won in marine equipment production in 2013, compared with 12.4 trillion won in 2012, which is estimated to represent about 80% of Korea's total marine equipment output. Exports Exports Increase to US$1.84 Billion Export Trend 2010-2014 Korea's marine equipment exports recorded US$1.84 billion in 2014, a 23% increase over US$1.5 billion in 2013. During the first half of 2014, Korea marine equipment exports registered US$861.9 million, while in the second half of the year exports improved to US$980.8 million. Workforce Workforce Stands at 58,881 Workforce Trend 2002-2014 Korea's combined marine equipment workforce stood at 58,881 persons in 2014. The figure represents a slight downward trend compared with 63,204 in 2013 and 63,553 in 2012. The number of employees in Korea's marine equipment sector in 2014 was comprised of 18,102 in electric & electronics, 17,314 in engine & machinery, 16,678 in outfittings and 6,787 in hulls.
