IMPORTANT: KNOW YOUR WATER PRESSURE. Before installing your showers and tapware it is important to know what water pressure your home has. New building regulations require mains pressure to be limited to 500kPa maximum static pressure at any outlet within a building Australian Standard AS/NZ 3500.1-2003, clause 3.3.4. All Methven products are designed in accordance with this regulation. Households which do not meet the requirements defined by AS/NZS 3500.1-2003 can damage the product and void warranty. While most Methven products are designed to operate on mains pressure installations, select products are able to operate at low or all pressures. 1. HOW DO I CHECK MY WATER PRESSURE? Pressure Limited Valve To meet the requirements as per AS/NZ 3500.1-2003 buildings should have a Pressure Limiting Valve (PLV) installed. These valves are usually accessible and installed near the water meter or water supply to the building. Contact Your Plumber If you are unsure if your water supply is properly limited. It s always safest to contact your plumber to check. 2. LOOK FOR THE ICON THAT CORRESPONDS TO YOUR PRESSURE: The operating pressure on each product is clearly labelled using the following icons: Mains Pressure. Operates on mains pressure installations between 150kPa 500kPa. All pressure. Operates on all pressure installations between 35kPa 500kPa. 2

Your bathroom, the choice to relax or revitalise Your bathroom plays a vital role in your day. It invigorates you in the morning and relaxes you in the evening. So when you take on a bathroom project, be sure to consider the things that are most important to you with the help of this quick guide. 1. Decide what type of bathroom you need: When planning your new bathroom it s important to begin by thinking about how it will be used and by whom. People s requirements can often be very different: Family bathroom: In a family bathroom you want to create a space that caters for growing families. 2. Make a list: Before planning your layout think carefully about what you like and dislike about your current bathroom. Make a list and prioritise which features you d most like to see in your new bathroom. Maybe it s an oversize walkin shower, a large vanity with two sinks, a separate enclosure for your toilet, or a large free-standing bath. 3. Get inspiration: Gather inspiration of bathrooms you like from magazines and the internet. This could help when you re planning your layout. Ensuite: An ensuite should be a sanctuary that s both luxurious and practical a space where you can escape and relax. Guest bathroom: Here you want to create a space that is both welcoming and pampering. Some handy tips Whether it s a new home build, renovation or a quick refresh, Methven has you covered with showers and tapware to suit any bathroom. Quick bathroom refresh This can be as easy as changing your shower, either the shower handset or the whole rail shower. It s not difficult to do either by screwing in a new handset on to your existing hose, or retro-fitting a new rail shower with adjustable mounting brackets so there s no need to drill additional holes. You ll be surprised at how a little added shower luxury can improve your day. New builds and renovations When you re ready to choose bathroom fittings, start with the shower first. Why? Because the shower is an important space. You spend a lot of time in it and for many it s the only time of day when you get some me time. 4. Planning your layout Your new bathroom layout can make all the difference, so be sure to plan carefully: Bathtub These days many people are trading or downsizing their bath for a luxurious walk-in shower. This can be a great option, although you may want to consider retaining at least one bath in the house it can add to the value of your property. Vanity The vanity plays an integral role in your bathroom choose a spot that won t interfere with your traffic, and make sure there s room above for mirror and wall cabinets. Shower Make the best use of space in small bathrooms by going for an open walk-in shower that doesn t need a curtain or door. Plumbing Practicalities Plumbing is a major cost in any bathroom project. The date of manufacture is marked on the valve, represented by a five digit number. The first two digits of the date of manufacture refer to the last two digits of the year of manufacture. The remaining three digits refer to the numerical day of the year in which the valve was manufactured (for example, 30 June 2007 would be represented as 07181). Methven will (at its cost) replace any NEFA valve to the original purchaser if it is purchased with less than 12 months remaining of the 5 year expiration period from manufacture date (as per coded stamp on each product). Proof of purchase must be provided for the replacement to be authorised to the original purchaser only. Warranty statement (showers / tapware / ACCESSORIES / valves) (a) If during the applicable warranty period set out above (Warranty Periods), a Good has a material defect which arose in the course of manufacture then, subject to the warranty conditions below being met, you may submit a warranty claim to Methven by email: customercare@au.methven.com, by calling Customer Care Australia on ph: 1300 638 483 or by mail to 16 Gipps Street, Collingwood, Melbourne VIC 3066. Methven may require you to return the Good, and you must pay the expenses for such return. (b) Methven will (at its cost) either repair or replace (at Methven s option) the Good. (d) Your rights under this warranty are in addition to and do not in any way affect any other rights or remedies that you have under any law which relates to the Goods. Warranty Conditions 15 Years Replacement Warranty 1 Year Replacement Warranty ACCESSORIES WARRANTY All Methven Accessories come with a: 10 Years Replacement Warranty for Domestic / Residential use (for original purchaser) 1 Year Replacement Warranty for Commercial use Commercial The Methven warranty set out in the Warranty Statement above (other than sections 1(d) and 1(e)) is subject to the following conditions, and accordingly shall not apply if: (a) The Good was not new as at the date of purchase or proof of purchase details (such as invoice, receipt or transaction record) are not provided. (b) There is a failure to follow Methven s installation instructions, evidence cannot be provided that the Good was installed by a licensed plumber or the Good is used other than in accordance with Methven specifications. (c) Repair work is performed on the relevant Good by a person other than Methven, its authorized service agents or any plumber who has not received authorisation from Methven prior to proceeding with the work. (d) Applicable statutes or regulations relating to public health are not observed. (e) Standards or regulations governing sewerage, plumbing, water supply and gas applicable to the location of the particular plumbing installation are not observed. This includes (without limitation) the Australian Standards (AS/NZ 3500.1 Plumbing and Drainage Part 1: Water services) which specify that water pressure must be limited to 500kpa on any new home, extension or renovation. The recommended continuous operating pressure for tapware is between 150-500kpa (maximum static pressure must not exceed 500kpa). (f) Harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners are used on any finishes of the Good. (g) The Good is not installed in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and Plumbing Codes. (h) The Good has been tampered with or repaired (other than by or on behalf of Methven) in any way. (i) The Good has been damaged by misuse, accident or neglect. (j) The Good has discolouration, corrosion or rusting from hard water and/or other environmental factors. (k) Adequate access to products, fittings and fixtures to undertake extended warranty repairs is required. Methven will not be responsible for any consequential damage or costs where adequate access to product fittings and fixtures is not accessible.
