2017 Funded projects Owasco Flats Floodplain Reconnection Cayuga County EFC GIGP: $600,000 Cayuga County will use GIGP funds to complete a floodplain enhancement project designed to reduce nutrient and sediment levels in Owasco Lake. Owasco Lake Source Water Protection Program The Nature Conservancy The Nature Conservancy will purchase up to six parcels in the Owasco Lake watershed for protection and potential restoration of riparian buffers and wetlands. This project will reduce sediment and nutrient loading to Owasco Lake. DEC WQIP SWP: $1,124,069

Fair Haven New York Main Street Renovations Village of Fair Haven The Village will assist in the renovation of mixed-use buildings located in the historic downtown district. HCR NYMS: $275,000 Moravia Climate Smart Communities Certification and Comprehensive Planning Village of Moravia The Village of Moravia will develop a Comprehensive Plan that focuses on adaptability to climate change. Developing a Comprehensive Plan is a necessary first step toward making informed land use decisions related to extreme weather and flooding. The Plan will also be tailored to advance the Village s pursuit of Climate Smart Communities certification. DEC CSC C: $17,278

Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Village of Marathon DEC EPG: $30,000 The Village of Marathon will complete an engineering report to evaluate upgrades and improvements to the wastewater treatment plant. Onondaga Lake Waterfront Planning Onondaga County DOS LWRP: $330,000 Onondaga County will prepare a Feasibility Study for beach access along the eastern shore of Onondaga Lake, design Reports for the 2.8-mile gap in the County's Loop-the-Lake Trail spanning from the end of the Onondaga Creekwalk behind the Destiny USA Mall to the northern tip of the lake, and a Market Analysis including public visioning for redevelopment of countyowned waterfront properties.
