Overview The goal of the technicians at Sure Marine Service is to design the REAL with enough flexibility to fit the needs of any installation. Drawing on decades of installation and service experience, the REAL has been refined to provide simplified installation and reliable performance. Unlike any other hydronic defrosters and heaters, the REAL can be mounted with the inlet/outlet fittings on either side or the top. The mounting foot and core are reversible. The blower mounting plate and vent outlet plate are also interchangeable. This offers a wide array of mounting options. The unit has 3/4 female NPT fittings for the water (coolant) inlet and outlet and comes standard with 3/4 hose barb adapters. 5/8 hose barb adapters, Pex and Wirsbo adapters are available upon request. An air bleeder valve is included that will allow for venting any trapped air at the outlet side of the unit. The heater core is made of 3/8" OD copper tubes with.014" wall and nine to eleven.006 thick aluminum fins per inch. The inlet and outlet manifolds are 1 tubing with a staggered pattern (4 row, 4 circuit) for full flow. 6400 Series Core Optional Equipment All REAL hydronic defrosters and heaters come with the parts needed for a basic installation including ducting, grilles, clamps and water fittings. Several options exist to customize your installation. Switches, thermostats, water connections and different color outlets to match the interior of your boat are only some of the options available. Contact Sure Marine Service, Inc. for details. Optional Fan Aquastat Kit #W005-213-REAL Prevents Fans From Operating Until Temperature Exceeds 110 Degrees F. 002-740 Optional Bulkhead mount bracket. Fits series 5000, 5200, 5200-LP, 5200-HO, 6000 and 6200. Many different grill options are available to customize your installation. Ask SMS for details. Every REAL is fitted with 3/4 FNPT to allow for different sizes of hose barbs or different types of connections. If your engine requires a 5/8 hose, the REAL can be adapted to a 5/8 hose barb. If you are using 3/4 PEX or Wirsbo for your heating system, the REAL can be fitted with those connections as well. Contact a SMS salesperson for details. Sure Marine can provide marine grade wire and electrical connections. Optional fresh air intake adapters are available for all 5200-LP Series REAL defrosters. Optional High/low switches These switches must be sized correctly to the fan amperage. Optional REAL fresh air intake adapters fit Series 5400, 8000-LP and 9000-LP. A 5000 Series REAL defroster consists of a heating core of copper tubes and aluminum fins surrounded by a powder coated aluminum case. A 3-speed blower is mounted at the rear of the unit and a variety of outlet options are available at the front of the unit including flat grilles and multiple hose outlets (from 1 to 3 vents). 6223-DF Dual Fan Hydronic Heaters The model 6223-DF REAL heaters have an output of up to 9,400 BTU s (4,700 BTU s per outlet). Typically, these heaters are used to heat adjoining heads or small spaces. A model 6223-DF REAL heater consists of a heating core of copper tubes and aluminum fins surrounded by a powder coated aluminum case. Two fans are mounted at the rear of the unit and dual 3 outlets are mounted at the front of the unit. An interior baffle separates each fan s output allowing for individual control of heat to two separate areas (with purchase of optional fan switches or thermostats).. The 12 or 24 volt fans push air through the heating core and provides a comfortable flow of warmed air at the outlets. These 12 or 24 volt fans have a low amp draw and are very quiet in operation. This unit has a textured black face that is easy to hide. The heater can be mounted flat to the floor or by reversing the grill inset into a bulkhead. 8000-LP Series Hydronic Combo Heater/Defrosters The 8000-LP Series REAL heaters have an output of up to 9,700 BTU s on the heater side and 14,000 BTU s on the defrost side. Typically, these heaters are used on flying bridges or helm areas where both heat and window defrost are desired. The 8000-LP Series REAL is a unique blend of both a quiet low amp draw fan heater and a low profile defroster. By using two separate fans, divided by baffles, two heater types are contained in one compact package. The 8000-LP Series consists of a heating core of copper tubes and aluminum fins surrounded by a powder coated aluminum case. 8000 Series Hydronic Combo Heater/Defrosters The 8000 Series REAL heaters have an output of up to 9,700 BTU s on the heater side and 18,300 BTU s on the defrost side. Typically, these heaters are used on flying bridges or helm areas where both heat and window defrost are desired. The 8000 Series REAL is a unique blend of both a quiet low amp draw fan heater and a high output defroster. By using two separate fans, divided by baffles, two heater types are contained in one compact package.
