SECTION 08711 DOOR HARDWARE PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY A. This Section includes the following: 1. Commercial door hardware. 2. Cylinders for doors specified in other Sections. 3. Electrified door hardware. 1.2 SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: For each product indicated. B. Shop Drawings: Include details of electrified door hardware and wiring diagrams. C. Samples: For each exposed finish. D. Door Hardware Schedule: Organized into door hardware sets indicating type, style, function, size, label, hand, manufacturer, fasteners, location, and finish of each door hardware item. Include description of each electrified door hardware function, including sequence of operation. E. Templates: Submit template information for finish hardware to suppliers of aluminum entrances, hollow metal and wood doors for production after hardware schedule approval. F. Keying Schedule: Detail Owner's final keying instructions for locks. G. Product certificates. H. Certification from the manufacturer for access control, elevator control, and gate control for all field level service providers and installers. 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Supplier Qualifications: Person who is or employs a qualified DHI Architectural Hardware Consultant. B. Source Limitations: Refer to Door Hardware Schedule C. Keying Conference: Conduct conference at Project site. Incorporate keying conference decisions into final keying schedule. D. Templates: Obtain and distribute templates for doors, frames, and other work specified to be factory prepared for installing door hardware. 08711-1 LK 15173

E. Access Control: Contractor shall have service representation within 100 miles of the project location. 1.4 Delivery, Storage and Handling. A. Marking and Packaging: Hardware delivered in original packaging and marked by architectural door opening number according to approve hardware schedule to identify correct location. B. Delivery: Hardware supplier will deliver finish hardware to job site in a timely manner per job completion schedule. Inventory and verify all hardware per approved door hardware schedule. Supply any material not accounted for. C. Storage: Store hardware in a locked on-site location to ensure protection of material and finish. Hardware to b stored on shelves off floor & grouped by hardware type in clean, dry & secure area. 1.5 WARRANTY A. Special Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of door hardware that fail in materials or workmanship within warranty period. 1. Warranty Period for Electromagnetic and Delayed Egress Locks: Five years from date of Substantial Completion. 2. Warranty Period for Exit Devices: Three years from date of Substantial Completion 3. Warranty Period for Lock sets: Lifetime from date of Substantial Completion 4. Warranty Period for Door Accessories: One years from date of Substantial Completion. 5. Warranty Period for Closers: Lifetime from date of Substantial Completion. 6. Warranty for Access Control: One year from date of Substantial Completion. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 MANUFACTURERS A. Product: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide the product named for each door hardware item indicated in Door Hardware Sets. 1. All keying shall be accomplished per Owner Requirements. A complete keying schedule shall be submitted to the Owner and approved in writing prior to placing lock order with the factory. B. All lock cylinders are to be master keyed. All locks and cylinders shall be supplied with a visual key control system. All key bows shall also be stamped indicating applicable day change and number of that key (E.G. 12AB47). 1. Furnish two (2) change keys for each lockset and a total of six master keys, grand master keys. C. Provide construction cylinders of cores for all exterior entrance used by the contractors during construction. General contractor shall replace temporary locks or cylinders with permanent units at the completion of project. All locks to be construction keyed. D. Provide and comply with ANSI 7.1,4.27 (hazard warnings). E. Provide and comply with ANSI a117.1,4.13 (handicap access) 2.3 DOOR HARDWARE A. Scheduled Door Hardware: Provide door hardware according to Door Hardware Sets at the end of Part 3. Manufacturers' names are abbreviated. B. 2.4 FABRICATION A. Base Metals: Furnish metals of a quality equal to or greater than that of specified door hardware units and BHMA A156.18 for finishes. Do not furnish manufacturer's standard materials if different from specified standard. B. Fasteners: Phillips flat-head screws with finished heads to match surface of door hardware, unless otherwise indicated. Provide steel machine or wood screws or steel through bolts for fire-rated applications. C. Spacers or Sex Bolts: For through bolting of hollow metal doors. D. Fasteners for Wood Doors: Comply with requirements of DHI WDHS.2, "Recommended Fasteners for Wood Doors." E. Finishes: Comply with BHMA A156.18. 2.5 ELEVATOR CONTROL A. Basis of design is: Schlage SMS Premier Software, controllers, reader interface, and readers. System shall be compatible with the FE210 residential locks and the AD-400 access control openings. B. Controller shall provide an Ethernet connection to Owner supplied LAN C. Reader interface shall be compatible to the Access Control software provided and all for connection to a 125 KHz proximity reader and 13.56 MHz smart card reader. D. Input Output board shall provide elevator control for up to 5 floors and shall be compatible with the Access Control software and controllers provided. E. Security Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating with the Elevator Contractor to provide a working solution as describe by the owner in preconstruction meetings. F. Coordinate all required activity with the Owner Elevator Contracting Company in pre-bid, installation, and post-bid meetings. H. I. Provide and install all associated cable required, with the exception of the Elevator Travel Cable. Elevator Travel Cable to be provided and installed by Elevator Contractor. 2.6 GATE CONTROL A. Basis of design is: Schlage Wireless Reader Interface and Schlage software. System shall be compatible with the FE210 residential locks and the AD-400 access control openings. B. Provide and install a SSRC-400 wireless control to the Owner supplied LAN with Ethernet within 350 of the LAN Switch or Router C. Provide and install a PIM400-485-SMS wireless transceiver on the outside of the building within 1000 line-of-sight to the gate controller. D. Provide and install a WRI400 wireless reader interface at the Gate Control arm provided by the Gate Contractor. Provide Mast and mounting hardware for WRI400 if required for line-of-sight to PIM400 unit. E. Provide and install the PS902xBBK power supply in the Gate Arm Control enclosure. 120 VAC to be provided by the Electrical contractor. Coordinate 120 VAC requirements. F. Provide and install the SXF1500 card reader on the pedestal provided by the Gate Contractor. G. Provide and install all associated cables for a working system. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION A. Examine doors and frames for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances, labeled fire door assembly construction, wall and floor construction, and other conditions affecting performance. Examine roughing-in for electrical power systems to verify actual locations of wiring connections before electrified door hardware installation. B. Steel Door and Frame Preparation: Comply with DHI A115 series. Drill and tap doors and frames for surface-applied hardware according to SDI 107. C. Wood Door Preparation: Comply with DHI A115-W series. D. Mounting Heights: Comply with the following requirements, unless otherwise indicated: 1. DHI's "Recommended Locations for Architectural Hardware for Standard Steel Doors and Frames." 2. DHI's "Recommended Locations for Builders' Hardware for Custom Steel Doors and Frames." 08711-5 LK 15173

3. DHI WDHS.3, "Recommended Locations for Architectural Hardware for Wood Flush Doors." E. Adjust and reinforce attachment substrates as necessary for proper installation and operation. Drill and countersink units that are not factory prepared for anchorage fasteners. Space fasteners and anchors according to industry standards.. 1. Boxed Power Supplies: Locate power supplies as indicated or, if not indicated, above accessible ceilings. Verify location with Architect. 2. Thresholds: Set thresholds for exterior in full bed of sealant. Complying with other requirements specified in Division 7 Section "Joint Sealants." F. Adjust door control devices to compensate for final operation of heating and ventilating equipment and to comply with accessibility requirements. 1. Door Closers: Adjust sweep period so that from an open position of 70 degrees, the door will take at least three seconds to move to a point 3 inches from the latch, measured to the leading edge of the door. G. Elevator Control 1. Schlage Authorized Contractor shall provide, install, commission and warranty an elevator control system that provides By-Floor control by valid credential. 2. Contractor shall coordinate all elevator control connections and cabling with the Owner s Elevator Contractor. 3. Contractor shall mount the reader controller, the reader interface, the low voltage power supply and the input/output board in the elevator control room and shall terminate the Travel Cable 18/6C OAS provided by the Elevator Contractor to the reader interface and the multi-technology reader in the cab. 4. Contractor shall program the access control software to provide By-Floor access as required by the Owner for the initial installation. 5. Contractor shall follow all local and national code requirements for elevator control. H. Gate Control 1. Schlage Authorized Contractor shall provide, install, commission and warranty a wireless gate control system that provide gate access control by valid credential and connects to the building access control system. 2. Authorized Contractor shall coordinate all gate control activity with the Gate Contractor and all 120 VAC requirements with Electrical Contractor. 3. Shall install all equipment as per manufacture recommendations and requirements. 4. Shall install all equipment as to meet all local, state, and national code regulations for gate control installations. 5. Shall program the initial test credential into the system and show owner representative how to program the gate control. 08711-6 LK 15173
