Quick SetUp Guide

WeLcOMe You ve made a great decision to protect your family and home with LifeShield, so use it to the fullest! Arming your system daily gives you peace of mind knowing that everything you care about is protected. Use your Master ode to arm your system via your onsole, Keychain Remote, Security Portal (LifeView), and Mobile Apps. MASTER OE on t stop there! 1A onnect ase A Place the ase near your Modem/Router Remove the stand by pulling the Table Stand downward and away from the main body of the ase - Insert the large blue battery (located in the bottom tray of your kit). You should see the red light on the back of the base light up temporarily. Replace the Table Stand by + sliding it back onto the main body of the ase Insert one of the provided power adapters into the jack Table Stand on the back, left side of the ase, inside of the well. Then plug the power adapter into the wall outlet E onnect the Ethernet able between a port on your router and the back of the ase. You will see a green and a yellow light flickering. This shows that the Internet connection was successful NOTE: The Ethernet cord should always remain plugged in to the ase and router/modem, in order to ensure your system works 1 A onnect ellular Gateway (if included) Set up your ellular Gateway on a high floor in your home near an exterior wall for best cellular reception. The ellular Gateway needs to be placed no more than 100 feet away from the onsole Remove the back cover of the ellular Gateway Insert the battery plug into the two-pin jack and place the battery in to the back of the ellular Gateway. Once it finds a cellular tower and connects, it will auto-activate 2

2 onnect onsole efore you set up your onsole, you ll need to decide where you want to place it. You can mount it on a wall or place it on a table, as long as it is near an outlet and no more than 100 feet from the ase or ellular Gateway onnect the battery and plug in the console A Locate the battery compartment door on the left side of the onsole and slide it open A Inside of the battery compartment plug the onsole battery pack into the plug connector. Make sure to match the red and black ends of the plug with the connectors properly Insert the battery pack into the compartment. Slide the battery compartment door back onto the onsole onnect one of the provided power adapters to the back of the onsole and weave the cord through the channel on the bottom of the onsole Mount the onsole E F If the onsole is going to rest on a table or counter, add the table stand to the bottom of the onsole. Plug the other end of the powercord into the wall outlet If the onsole will be mounted on a wall: Select the wall location and mark the spots on the wall where the upper and lower screws will go using the mounting plate as a template rill 3/16 holes and insert the drywall anchors provided Screw mounting screws into the anchors, leaving the heads about 3/8 away from the wall After checking that the power cord is in place correctly, attach the wall mounting plate to the onsole Place the onsole with wall mounting plate onto the wall screws Plug the onsole power cord into the outlet E Power ord Table Stand F Mark spot on the wall 3

3 Standard Sensors Placing PreProgrammed Sensors NOTE: PREPROGRAMME SENSORS HAVE UNIQUE PROPERTIES UILT IN. OOR SENSORS HAVE AN ENTRY ELAY OF 30 SEONS, AN AN EXIT ELAY OF 60 SEONS. WINOW SENSORS HAVE AN ENTRY ELAY OF 0 SEONS. ENSURE YOU PLAE THEM IN THE ORRET LOATIONS Once you have determined the appropriate location and orientation of the racket and Magnet, use the double-sided tape to mount the sensor to the door/window Various orientations between the racket and Magnet may be used as long as 3/4 distance is not exceeded NOTE: WHEN POSSILE, PLAE THE RAKET ON THE STATIONARY FRAME OF THE OOR OR WINOW, AN PLAE THE MAGNET ON THE OOR OR WINOW ITSELF TO HANGE PREPROGRAMME SENSORS A Press MENU on the onsole Scroll to Security Setup, press SELET Enter Master ode* Scroll to Sensors, press SELET E SELET the sensor to be modified F Use the menu to select and change sensor attribute TO A AITIONAL SENSORS A Remove the battery tab by squeezing and holding the metal spring clip where the REMOVE tab folds around battery. The battery will spring upward. arefully remove the insulating tab from under the battery, then gently press the battery back into the spring clip Press MENU on the onsole Scroll to Security Setup, press SELET Enter Master ode* E Scroll to Sensors, press SELET F Scroll to <Add New>, press SELET G Scroll to Standard Sensor, press SELET H Wait 5 seconds before clipping the Sensor into the racket. You will then have 30 seconds to complete the setup I lip the Sensor into the racket. The onsole will beep when the system finds the Sensor. This may take a few seconds. Press OK NOTE: If SENSOR OUT OF RANGE is displayed, the Sensor is too far away from the closest Grid ontroller (ase, onsole, Grid Extender or ellular Gateway) J Edit Sensor Name (Optional) To change the Sensor Name, press the ELETE key to remove the default name Using the keys on your onsole keypad, type in the desired name Press OK when complete K Select Sensor Placement: Scroll to oor or Window. Press OK L Select Alarm Type: Scroll to Stay & Away, Away Only, or onvenience. 4 Motion Sensor Top Place preprogrammed Motion Sensor A istinguish the top of the Motion Sensor from the bottom (See Figure A) NOTE: if your sensor is placed upside down it will not work ecide where to put the Motion Sensor in your home NOTE: Avoid areas that could trigger false alarms such as air conditioning units, heat, fans, or direct sunlight. The recommended mounting height is 7.5 feet A lean the area where you have chosen to place your sensor to ensure the tape holds firmly to the wall Apply the adhesive tape to the back of the Motion Sensor ottom E ouble check to make sure your sensor is the correct orientation (not upside-down), then place the Motion Sensor on the wall To Add additional MOTION Sensors F Remove the front cover of the Motion Sensor by pressing the tab at the bottom with your finger or a pen. Remove the battery G Press MENU on the onsole H Scroll to Security Setup, press SELET I Enter Master ode* J K Scroll to Sensors, press SELET Scroll to <Add New>, press SELET Tape For orner Mount L Scroll to Motion, press SELET M Follow the instructions displayed on the onsole: The onsole will display Preparing to Add and will start a 5-second countdown Once the countdown is complete the onsole will read Insert attery ; insert the battery into the Motion Sensor. You will have 30 seconds to complete this step Tape For Wall Mount N When the Motion Sensor has successfully been added you will hear a confirmation beep If there is no confirmation beep, remove the battery from the Motion Sensor, then re-insert the battery Press O Once the Motion Sensor has been added to the system use the Edit feature to rename the device (if desired). Press ELETE to erase text and use the keypad keys to type the new name. Press OK F P Re-attach the front cover of the Motion Sensor and place the motion sensor in your desired location (See steps A - E) *Your master code can be found on the inside cover of this Setup Guide 5

5 PLEASE Fire Safety Sensor Setup REA ALL STEPS PRIOR TO MOUNTING AN AING FIRE SAFTEY SENSOR The Fire Safety Sensor works with your existing hazard detectors (smoke/fire alarms or carbon monoxide) to send a signal to the monitoring center whenever your hazard detector sounds** A To set up the Fire Safety Sensor, determine the exact location of where the sensor will be mounted, and use a pencil to lightly mark the position of the sensor 3 IMPORTANT: The Fire Safety Sensor can be no more than 3 away from the targeted hazard detector with the microphone (the three small IRLES on the top of the sensor) facing the hazard detector ONE THE FIRE SAFETY SENSOR IS PLAE, IT ANNOT E MOVE PLEASE PLAN AORINGLY Attach the Fire Safety Sensor to ceiling by either peeling the double sided tape and pressing it to the ceiling or using the screws and wall anchors. Make sure the sensor is 3 from the hazard detector and the microphone is facing the hazard detector Hazard etector Fire Safety Sensor To add, twist off the Fire Safety Sensor from the bracket and use your onsole: E F G H Press MENU on the onsole Scroll to Security Setup, press SELET Enter Master ode* Scroll to Sensors, press SELET Scroll to <Add New>, press SELET Scroll to Fire Safety Sensor, press SELET I Following the instructions displayed on the onsole, wait 5 seconds and remove the battery tab when the console says PULL ATTERY TA FROM SENSOR NOTE: If you have already pulled the battery tab prior to this step, remove the battery and re-insert it within the device during the countdown ack Sensor J If the sensor has been found, the console will display Fire Safety Sensor Found. Wait 30 seconds or until the sensor is added to the system K Once the Fire Safety Sensor is found, you will have 30 seconds to complete an audio test to be sure the siren from the hazard detector can be heard by the Fire Safety Sensor L In order to complete this test, the Fire Safety Sensor must be mounted in the bracket. Your console will display Preparing for Audio Test Press the test button on your hazard detector for a full 30 seconds or until the onsole displays Fire Safety Sensor Added. Press OK I attery Tab M Edit Sensor Name To edit the name of your Fire Safety Sensor, use the ELETE button to erase the text and use the keypad keys to type in a new name. Press OK N Scroll down and select the type of hazard detector being used for the Fire Safety Sensor (SMOKE/FIRE or ARON MONOXIE) Important: the selection you make during this configuration step will determine the type of message that is sent to the monitoring center *Your master code can be found on the inside cover of this Setup Guide ** Not all hazard detectors are compatible with the Fire Safety Sensor 6

6 Add Additional Keychain Remote(s) NOTE: The Keychain Remote provided in the kit is ready to go and preprogrammed for the Master User. These steps are for if you purchase more Keychain remotes to add to your system. If you have more than one Remote, you must create new User odes before those keychains can be added. The LifeShield system can support up to 8 Users (1 Master User, and 7 Normal Users) For Each Additional keychain Remote you must first create a unique user/user ode for each keychain Menu Ready To Arm Thu 2/8 11:48a PHNK MENU ONNT WEATHR ALERTS Scroll uttons TO A NEW USERS/USER OES User odes can be easily added, changed or deleted from the system onsole A Press Menu on the onsole Scroll to Security Setup, press Select Enter Master ode* Scroll to Users, press Select E Scroll to <Add New>, press Select F The Keychain remote defaults to User 1 ; use the ELETE button to erase the default username and enter the desired name using the onsole, press OK when complete G When the system prompts you to Edit ode, create a unique 4-digit arming code for this user, press OK NOTE: Must be different from the Master ode - all codes must be unique H The system will ask Add? and display the name of the new user. Press OK Keychain Remote Once you have created the new users/user code(s) for each Keychain Remote, ontinue to the next steps to add their Keychain Remotes to your System TO A AITIONAL KEYHAIN REMOTES I Press Menu on the onsole J Scroll to Security Setup, press Select K Enter Master ode* L Scroll to Keychains, press Select M Scroll to <Add New>, press Select N The onsole will display Preparing to Add and begin a 5-second countdown O After the countdown completes, press ALL THREE KEYHAIN UTTONS AT THE SAME TIME P The onsole will say Keychain Found and Added. Press OK Q hoose the user from the list that you want to assign to the Keychain. Press Select R Select to Enable or isable the panic button as desired for the keychain *Your master code can be found on the inside cover of this Setup Guide 7

ontrol Your System Stay Arming Away Arming Instant STAY Arming isarming Panicking Your System efinition Use while you are staying in your home. Your system will provide a silent Exit elay and an audible Entry elay. This mode will also ignore specific sensors inside the home such as your Motion Sensors. Use when no one is at home. Your system will provide an audible Exit elay. The beep will increase during the last 10 seconds of arming. Use when you are in for the night and not expecting anyone to enter or exit the home. Your system will not provide an Exit elay or Entry elay. This mode will ignore specific sensors such as your Motion Sensors. Use this whenever you want to cancel any alarm you ve caused. Use this when you want to send a signal to the monitoring center immediately. The PANI button will send a message to the Alarm Monitoring enter to contact the authorities without making a call to you to verify the alarm. RESPONING TO AN ALARM 1. PANI - Local authorities will be dispatched automatically. No phone call will be made to verify the alarm. The signal cannot be canceled. 2. URGLARY & FIRE - In the event of an alarm, the monitoring center will call to verify the status of the alarm. a. The Primary ontact will be called first. Then the Secondary ontact will be called. No message will be left if unanswered. b. If no contacts are reached, emergency services will be dispatched. c. If a contact is reached, they will be asked to provide the Monitoring Password (this is NOT your Master ode). d. If the Monitoring Password is incorrect, the monitoring center will automatically dispatch the authorities. If the correct Monitoring Password is given, the monitoring center will act as directed by the ontact. 3. WATER & TEMPERATURE - ased on your selection, you will receive a text or email message when the sensor is triggered. For additional information please go to: lifeshield.com/support-center/system-faqs Local Permit and Registration (if applicable) To activate the monitoring service for your home security system, you may need to obtain a permit and/or registration from your municipality, sign your contract, and complete your registration via the security portal. PLEASE NOTE: Residents are responsible for ALL permit fees, false alarm fees, runner service fees and other applicable fees if incurred. Many municipalities will not allow LifeShield to begin monitoring your home without a permit. In the event of a false alarm, municipalities can charge fines to consumers who do not obtain the required permits/registration. Also, some police agencies will not dispatch to a home that isn t registered/permitted. Please contact your local municipality as soon as possible to begin the necessary processes that may be needed in your area. NOTE: A service fee may be charged for any secondary installation/service visit to your home 9

FREQUENTLY ASKE QUESTIONS 1. Where can I buy new/additional equipment? If you are interested in purchasing additional equipment for your system, use your Security Portal, LifeView. Go to lifeview.lifeshield.com and click on the Shop tab, where you can browse and select your new equipment. 2. Where do I find instructions on adding additional components to my LifeShield system? Once you have your system set up, you may find you re interested in expanding it. You may refer to the instructions in the device guide provided inside each individual product box, review this Setup Guide or refer to lifeshield.com/support-center. 3. o I have to purchase service with my LifeShield system? Yes. The LifeShield system will not operate without monitoring service. LifeShield offers several service plans. 4. How do I cancel service? Service may be cancelled by calling LifeShield Support at 1-877-464-7437. Service may not be cancelled via email. 5. Is there an early termination fee if I cancel service? Your contract terms are set at the time of purchase. There will be a termination fee for early cancellation. 6. o I have to have a landline phone to use LifeShield? No; telephone lines are optional. If you decide to use a telephone line as additional backup protection, you need to change a system setting in the Security Portal, so the system understands a phone line is being used. LifeShield recommends a telephone line for redundant backup communications to the monitoring center in case there s ever an interruption to your broadband connection. 7. What if there is no telephone line near my broadband connection? The LifeShield system can be connected to the telephone line from the ase or onsole. Therefore, having a telephone line near your broadband connection is not required. 8. Will LifeShield cause interference with other RF products like my wireless network (Wi-Fi)? LifeShield uses advanced radio frequency technology to avoid interference with other devices. 9. How many ases and onsoles can I have in my system? The system supports 1 ase and 4 onsoles. 10. How many sensors can I have in my system? The LifeShield system can support the use of up to 50 sensors of any type. 11. Are there special licenses needed to install a security system?
