The company The need to safeguard and protect cash and valuables has existed since time immemorial. This can be achieved only with security concepts that are worked out right down to the very last detail, applying both vast experience and innovative prowess. Wittkopp high-security locks are the answer. Our locking solutions either mechanical or electronic satisfy all the safety and security specifications put forth by the safe and vault industry. Wittkopp high-security locks have been developed and manufactured ever since 1857 in Velbert, a town long renowned for its activities in this specific branch of industry. Right down to the present day the mechanical tradition upon which Carl Wittkopp GmbH was built continues to be the basis for confidence in our products. As always, our solutions convince users whenever there is a demand for security paired with unwavering quality and long service lives. Our development standards - To your advantage Mechanical precision is based on careful development and production work. Our products, their quality certified by certification bodies, today pass through a highly modern development process. In that process our technical specialists continuously integrate the latest security industry requirements into the locks. Closeness to our custo- mers both geographically and in our ways of thinking is the wellspring for economical and reliable high-security concepts. Patented Wittkopp designs devolve from intensive communications and closeness to the customer. We don t deliver security off the rack. Instead we supply concepts tailored to your specific needs. 4

Key locks High-security key locks made by Wittkopp since 1857 are a concept of highest quality. Wittkopp s key locks have been certified to be in compliance with European Standard EN 1300 and also with guidelines issued by numerous European testing institutes. Today they are successfully used around the world in critical areas that impose the greatest possible demands in terms of security. Opening and closing - Quality by Wittkopp Whenever it is a matter of securing money and other valuables, it s not just the quality of the enclosure that is important. The opening and closing concepts are equally significant. Uniform, trouble-free mechanical operation is a function of high-quality fittings, selecting the proper materials and perfect manufacturing quality. Wittkopp s keyed locks combine all these important product criteria. Their quality is convincing and they guarantee maximum security. This is reflected in our customers continued faith in our products over the years. Wittkopp s range includes keyed locks in a multitude of different designs. Regardless of whether you need locks for safes, safe deposit boxes or lattice doors the product portfolio offers solutions for a wide variety of applications. 5

Key locks Key types Rigid key Detachable bit keys Folding key Keys Typical for mechanical locks used in safes is the double-bit key. It is synonymous with precision machining and exceptional security. Wittkopp s double-bit keys are available in various types and materials. The depth of the safe door and how often it is locked should be taken into account when selecting a key. Detachable bit keys or folding keys lend themselves to applications with thick safe doors because they are easy to store. While the detachable bit can be stored separate from the rest of the key, folding keys can be reduced to almost half of their normal length. Whenever a lock is opened and closed frequently it is highly advisable to select a red brass or nickel silver key. These materials make the keys far less prone to wear and tear. 6

Key locks Requirements for safe and vault doors Resistance grade as per EN 1143-1 as per VdS 2450 Number of locks Classification as per EN 1300 0/N 1 A 1 I 1 A 1 II 1 A 1 III 1 B 2 IV 2 B 2 V 2 B 2 VI 2 C 3 VII 2 C 3 VIII 2 C 3 IX 2 C 3 X 2 C 3 XI 3 (2) C (D) 3 (4) XII 3 (2) C (D) 3 (4) XIII 2 D 4 Classification as per VdS 2396 ing variations A crucial security criterion when employing keyed locks is the number different key profiles possible. The number of locking possibilities is derived from the number of levers in the lock and the number of notches in the key. According to standard EN 1300 (VdS 2396) the following numbers of variations are required for mechanical locking systems: Class A (1): 25,000 (80,000) Class B (2): 100,000 (200,000) Class C (3): 1,000,000 (1,000,000) 7
