Failure to understand how to safely operate this heater could result in an accident causing serious injury or death. This heater should only be operated by qualifi ed personnel.

Troubleshooting Guide... 3 4 5 7 INTRODUCTION BriskHeat Wrap-Around Tote Tank / IBC Heaters are designed for maintenance heating of caged, plastic, or metal tote tanks / IBCs. For successful operation of these heaters, read and understand these instructions prior to use. SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL The symbol above is used to call your attention to instructions concerning your personal safety. It points out important safety precautions. It means ATTENTION! Become Alert! Your Personal Safety is involved! Read the message that follows and be alert to the possibility of personal injury or death. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS! Additional copies of this manual are available upon request. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS A person who has not read and understood all operating instructions is not qualifi ed to operate this product. Do not immerse heater in liquid. Keep sharp metal objects away from heater. Keep volatile or combustible material away from heater when in use. Keep enclosure cover tight while circuits are alive. Failure to observe these warnings may result in electric shock, risk of fi re, and personal injury. Inspect heater before use. Do not use heater with torn or worn surfaces. Do not repair damaged or faulty heater. Do not crush or apply severe physical stress on heater or cord assembly. Unplug heater when not in use. Use heater for heating tote tanks / IBCs only. Use specifi c sized heater with same sized tote tank / IBC. Do not use for other applications. Failure to observe these warnings may result in personal injury or damage to the heater. End User Must Comply to the Following: Only qualifi ed personnel are allowed to connect the electrical wiring. All electrical wiring must follow local electrical codes. Final installation/wiring is to be inspected by the authority who has jurisdiction in the area that the heater is installed. The end-user is responsible for providing a suitable disconnecting device. The end-user is responsible for providing suitable over-protection device. It is highly recommended that a ground fault circuit breaker be used. 3

Built-in manual reset high-limit safety thermostat set at 195 F (91 C) for each heat zone Power cord 6 feet (1.8M) long with standard power plug: 10VAC = NEMA 5-15 40VAC = NEMA 6-15 Other voltages = bare wire Optional insulated top cover [reduces heat loss] TOTE Series: Units with Adjustable Straps and Buckles Fits any tote tank width from 40 x 40 (1016mm x 1016mm) to 48 x 48 (119mm x 119mm) 4 TOT Series: Units with Velcro Closures Designed for specifi c size. See identifi cation label. INSTALLATION / OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS Read and understand this entire manual before operating this heater The use of two individuals is highly recommended for this installation STEP 1 Remove heater from box. Make visual inspection of heater. Do not use if torn or damaged. STEP For units with adjustable nylon straps and buckles: Heater should be placed on a clean, dry surface. Locate mouse-hole on heater. Loosely wrap heater around IBC / tote tank with the mouse-hole positioned to accommodate the exit spigot. The adjustable thermostat control knobs must be facing outside (if applicable) and power cord exiting at the bottom of the heater. Secure the two top straps by fastening the quick-release plastic buckle. Overlap the side of the heater with the nylon straps secured closest to the edge on the outside, over any additional amount of the fl ap underneath. Use the provided handle at the bottom of the heater to assist in securing the bottom side strap and tighten. Secure and tighten the middle and top straps. All fi ve straps should now be fi rmly tightened so the heater is tight against the tote tank / IBC with no sagging or bundling. Cover the top of the tote tank / IBC with optional insulation cover. 5

STEP continued For units with velcro closure: Heater should be placed on a clean, dry surface. Loosely wrap heater around IBC / tote tank with the velcro openings positioned to accommodate the exit spigot. The adjustable thermostat control knobs must be facing outside (if applicable) and power cord exiting at the bottom of the heater. Secure the two top straps by attaching the velcro. Attach velcro closure on the side so heater is tight against the tote tank / IBC with no overlapping, sagging or bundling. Cover the top of the tote tank / IBC with optional insulation cover. Note: Units with velcro are designed for an exact size. DO NOT overlap heater. STEP 3 Plug standard 3-prong plug (if applicable) to appropriate electrical power supply. The power connection must be adequately rated to electrically support the voltage and amperage of the heater. The identifi cation label located on the power cord displays voltage and amperage requirements. Follow all local electrical codes for proper electrical connections. STEP 4 (For units with adjustable thermostats) Adjust temperature control knobs to desired settings on both top and bottom zones. Heater can be adjusted 50-160 F (10-71 C). 6 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Please read this guide prior to contacting BriskHeat. This guide is designed to answer the most commonly asked questions. PROBLEM SOLUTION(S) Does not heat Verify heater is connected to proper voltage. The identifi cation label located on the power cord displays the heater s voltage requirement. Unplug the heater, press both manual reset buttons and plug back in. Check to see if there is a resistance reading (not an open circuit) in heater using an ohm meter. Circuit breaker is tripping Validate that the circuit breaker is capable of handling the amp requirement of heater. The identifi cation label located on the power cord displays the heater s amperage requirement. Examine heater and cord for any damage. Does not fi t Confi rm that the heater provided was designed to fi t around your specifi ed tote tank / IBC. If the heater was designed for the specifi ed tote tank / IBC, please call 1-800-848-7673 or 614-94-3376 for further assistance. Something has lightly spilled on exterior or interior Apply any general household cleaner, that does not contain any silicone rubber dissolving type ingredients, with a clean cloth fabric. 7
