1 General Descriptions Intelligent full height sliding gate turnstile TPW-331EGS is with circular arc structure, which is in beautifully shaped; pursuit the perfect unity of art, fashion and security; the housing made of stainless steel is durable; the mechanism modules are imported from international top brands DC brushless motors and precise positioning encoder, so as to make sure the wing gate can stretch quickly and accurately, stably and quietly, with low-power consumption, energy conservation and environment protection. TPW-331EGS is equipped with the dry contact signal input interface, RS485/RS232 interface, TCP/IP interface (optional), compatible with all kinds of access controllers. It is suitable for commercial buildings, government buildings, financial institutions, clubs and other high-end indoor applications. TPW-331EGS has been strictly tested before leaving the factory. But to ensure the safe and reliable operating of the product, users are recommended to read the manual carefully before operating so as to avoid improper operation and damage to the interests of users. 2 Definitions 2.1 Sliding Gate Turnstile The sliding gate turnstile consists of housing and two movable flaps. The flaps is retractable achieving the purpose of stopping or releasing. According to different combination ways of mechanism, the sliding gate turnstile can be divided to be single-mechanism sliding gate turnstile and dual-mechanism sliding gate turnstile. Single-mechanism sliding gate turnstile only one mechanism is equipped with one housing cabinet (as shown in Figure 2.1-1). Dual-mechanism sliding gate turnstile two independent mechanisms are equipped with one housing cabinet (as shown in Figure 2.1-2).

Single-lane sliding gate turnstile It consists of two single-mechanism sliding gate turnstile (as shown in Figure 2.1-3). Multi-lane sliding gate turnstile It consists of two single-mechanism sliding gate turnstile and multiple dual-mechanism sliding gate turnstile (as shown in Figure 2.1-4). When a valid open signal is given, the turnstile poles open to allow pedestrians to pass through. The valid open signals are manual open button signal and access control board open signal. Free passing mode: When a valid open signal is given, the turnstile open and pedestrians can pass through freely. The valid open signals are manual open button signal, access control board open signal, and infrared sensor open signal Forbidden passing mode: When a valid open signal is given, the turnstile don t open and pedestrians are not allowed to pass through.

3. Safety Precautions Although a series of testing have been carried out before shipment and the turnstile can run TPW-331EGS consists of mechanical system and electrical system. Its outline dimensions are shown as Figure 4 below. safely and stably, users should perform proper installation and debugging strictly in accordance with the operating manual before using the turnstile. Manufacturers don't take any responsibility because of improper operation or human damage. Before installation, please pay attention to the following safety precautions: Only professional electricians and technicians received electrical training can be engaged in the electrical 220VAC electrical connection operation. It is prohibited to install the turnstile without suitable foundation. During maintenance, cut the external system power supply off (such as access control, visitor system, ticketing system, etc.). A leakage switch or other current control operating devices is necessary. The connection operation of the turnstile must comply with the attached wiring diagram. Before using the turnstile, ensure that the turnstile functions test is qualified. During maintenance, please check whether the bolt is fastening. When the turnstile system is powered on, charged components such as switching power supply, resistors, lamps shall not be touched as the high temperature might cause skin burning. It is forbidden to apply heavy force on the turnstile. Otherwise, there will be unnecessary damage. It is recommended to separate the turnstile with other equipment power supply interface; otherwise the turnstile might be damaged due to the mutual interference between the equipment. Not equipped with explosion-proof device, the equipment is not allowed to use in an inflammable and explosive. However, it is optional for the users to purchase other type for the purpose.

The housing cabinet is shown as Figure 4.1. It consists of card swiping panel, status indicator panel, direction indicator panel, infrared sensor panel, glass panel and housing. 4.2 Electric System The electric system of the turnstile consists of main control board (see Appendix A1), slave control board(see Appendix A2),motor control board (see Appendix A3), infrared sensor, status indicator light, direction indicator light, buzzer and power module. The counter, sound-light alarm device and access control system are optional. 5 The Working Principle Of The Turnstile System (1) Turn on the turnstile system power; the system will perform power on self test. The buzzer will alarm for prompting. After the alarm prompting, the system goes into the standby mode and flap will be closed. (2) Users provide valid open signals for IN/OUT direction (access system swiping-card open signal and turnstile system open button signal) to main control board. (3) After the turnstile main control board receives valid open signal for IN/OUT direction, it sends control signal to motor control board, then the flap will open to let users to pass through. (4) After user finishes passing through, the main control board sends control signal to motor control board; swing gates are locked and the system enters standby mode. (5) If users don t provide valid open signal and then go into the turnstile to push flap, the system will lock the gate to forbid passing, at the same time the buzzer will alarm until users revoke illegal intervention. 6 Product Installation, Inspection And Tests 6.1 Product Installation (1) Prepare necessary tools for installation and choose the auxiliary parts according to the packing list. (2) Confirm the system constitution and operating modes. Get ready to install after finishing system planning. (3) Drill holes after confirming the positions. Pre-bury (N+1)*4 M12 expansion bolts as shown in Figure 6.1. Note: N means the lane quantity.

Choose an alloy bit which is matching with the outside diameter of the expansion bolts. Drill the holes according to the length of the expansion bolts. Drilling holes to the required depth of the installation will be ok. Then please clean up the holes. 2. Install flat washers, spring washers and nuts. Screw nuts to the end of the bolts so as to protect the screw thread, and then insert the expansion bolts to the holes. 3. Turn the spanner until the washers are flush with the fixed Objects. If there re no special requirements, user can tighten up by hand and then screw for 3 to 5 turns by spanner. 1000 1426 12-φ16 use M12X100mm expansion bolts to fix on the ground 110 Figure 6.1 (4) Put strong/weak cables into the 3/4 PVC tube respectively, and bury them to the suitable positions. (5) Move the housing cabinets respectively to the installing positions, making them align with anchor bolts. (6) Check the system structure and operating modes. (7) Open the housing cabinet and choose one turnstile as a reference (It is recommended to choose the middle unit as a reference). Respectively align the drill holes of the bolts on the chassis with the anchor bolts and then tighten the nuts tentatively. (8) Open the adjacent housing cabinet. Respectively align the drilling holes of the bolts on the chassis with the anchor bolts according to the above referenced proper arrangement of turnstile online and tighten the nuts tentatively. (9) Connect the power wires, control wires as well as the ground wires properly according to the wiring diagram.

(10) After the function debugging is checked OK, tighten the anchor bolts and nuts. Note 1 The depth of the PVC tubes buried shall be more than 60mm. The height above the ground shall be more than 50mm. And the PVC tube shall be bent return so as to avoid the water falling in. 2 All the above operations should be carried out when power off. And please make sure the ground wires of the system is connected correctly, properly and firmly. Please refer to the TPW-331EGS foundation mounting diagram enclosed with the box for detailed 6.2 Product Status Inspection It is required to check the turnstile status after it is properly installed. Detailed procedures are as below: (1) Check the proper wiring among all electric components. Details please refer to Appendix. (2) After the wiring are checked OK, connect the turnstile to power. (3) After the turnstile finishes power on self-checking, both flaps should move back and forth and buzzer will alarm for prompting. After the alarm prompting, flaps should be closed. (4) Check whether the turnstile working mode is in accordance with the user requirements. Please refer to Table 6.2 for details. If the direction indicator is abnormal, please refer to Chapter 9<The common trouble shooting of products> or contact the manufacturer. (5) Check whether the infrared detectors of each lane do work normally. Please check one by one, when you block one pair of infrared detectors, the corresponding infrared lights of main control board should be off. If the lights are abnormal, please refer to Chapter 9<The common trouble shooting of products> to check or contact the manufacturer. (6) Check the running status of the flaps: When standby, use the test buttons to provide an open signal. The flaps will be rotating smoothly and returning normally when being pushed. If the running status of the flaps is abnormal, please contact the manufacturer.

6.3 Product Function Tests After checking the turnstile status, it is also required to test the turnstile functions. Detailed tests include: power on self test function test, normal passing test, IN & OUT direction passing modes test,intelligent linkage alarm test, anti-clamping function test and emergency escape function test. 6.3.1 Power On Self Test Function Test After power on, the sliding gate turnstile should move back and forth and buzzer will alarm for prompting. After the alarm prompting, flaps should be closed. 6.3.2 Normal Passing Test When standby, the flaps are closed. Using the test button of the turnstile to provide an valid open signal, the flaps open. Within the allowed passing time (usually about 5S), user can pass through normally. During the passing, buzzer shouldn't alarm. After the user finishing the passing, the flaps should be locked. 6.3.3 IN & OUT Direction Passing Modes Test Set the turnstile passing models via the WORK MODE module on the control board, as shown is Figure 6.3.3. The IN direction and OUT direction can be separately set as Controlled Passing Free / Passing / Forbidden Passing. Generally the turnstile passing modes are set as IN & OUT controlled passing (default), IN/OUT controlled passing & OUT/IN forbidden passing, as well as IN/OUT controlled passing & OUT/IN free passing. Observe whether the turnstile poles status and the direction indicator are normally under different working modes. If they work normally, then the passing modes can switch normally. If not, the mode switching function is abnormal. Please refer to Table 6.2 for details.

L2 Red When the light is on, the IN direction is at forbidden passing mode. L3 Yellow When the light is on, the IN direction is at controlled passing mode. R1 Green When the light is on, the OUT direction is at free passing mode. R2 Red When the light is on, the OUT direction is at forbidden passing mode. R3 Yellow When the light is on, the OUT direction is at controlled passing mode. Figure 6.3.3 6.3.4 Intelligent Linkage Alarm Test During debugging buzzer should alarm for prompting when the turnstile power on self test, pedestrians intrusion, pedestrians reverse passing and tailgating, as shown is figure 6.3.4. 6.3.5 Anti-clamping Function Test Infrared anti-clamping Machinery anti-clamping Machinery anti-clamping: In the process of closing, use hand to block flaps and the flaps should open automatically to prevent clamping pedestrians. Infrared anti-clamping: In the process of closing, once people or thing is detected in the anti-clamping area(the middle pair of infrared sensor), the flaps will open automatically to prevent clamping pedestrians. 6.3.6 Emergency Escape Function Test Press the emergency escape button (red button),the flaps should be open and users can pass through from both sides. 7 Product Usage When using the sliding gate turnstile, pedestrians should obey the rules of Swiping cards outside the yellow line, one person one card, forbid tailgating and reverse passing. Note: Swiping cards outside the yellow line, one person one card, forbid tailgating and reverse passing means that the pedestrians should swipe the card outside of the yellow line; each time a valid card swiped only allows one person to pass through; the next and the opposite pedestrians no swiping are forbidden to pass. 7.1 Sliding Gate Turnstile Single Directional Passing As shown is figure 7.1. When standby, pedestrians outside the yellow line a IN / OUT valid open signal to the turnstile, flaps will open and pedestrians can pass; after passing through, flaps will close and return to the hindered zero position automatically.

Figure 7.1 Sliding gate turnstile single directional passing 7.2 Sliding Gate Turnstile Single Directional Continuous Passing When pedestrians provide more than one open signals at the same direction, the system will memorize all the passing requests and finish in sequence. 7.3 Sliding Gate Turnstile Bi-directional passing When standby, the person A stands outside the yellow line of the IN direction and provides a valid open signal for the turnstile, the flaps open and the person A passes through. After the person A finishes passing through, the flaps close. The person B should be waiting outside of the yellow line of the OUT direction. After the person A finishes passing through, the person B stands outside the yellow line of the OUT direction and provides a valid open signal for the turnstile, the flaps open and the person B passes through. After the person B finishes passing through, the flaps close. The turnstile and the person A 's status in the passing process is shown as Figure 7.3.1. Therefore, it is necessary to clear and maintain regularly. 8.1 Daily Cleaning The daily cleaning and maintenance includes surface cleaning and internal cleaning. The cleaning cycle is once a week. Please refer to Table 8.1 for details. and affect the normal usage of the turnstile. 4 It is required to check the connections of each interface on the mechanism periodically, so as to avoid the looseness of the parts. 5 It is required to use lubricants to lubricate the mechanism parts periodically. 6 It is required to check the sockets and wiring connections periodically so as to ensure the stability of the wiring connections. 7 It is required to check the grounding connection of the electric system periodically so as to avoid electric leakage. 8 After finishing the maintenance, please connect the turnstile system to power and close the maintenance doors. 9 Product Common Troubles And Trouble Shooting 9.1 Indicator Lights Failure When standby, the direction indicator light turns red (as shown in Figure 9.1-1) and status indicator light is green. The running Light (RUN) of the control board is flashing at a frequency of one time per second, as shown in Figure 9.1-2 ; the infrared detector status indicator of the control board is often on as long as there is nothing to block the infrared detector. Under IN & OUT Controlled Passing mode, when IN/OUT direction receives a valid open signal, IN/OUT direction indicator turns green, OUT/IN direction indicator turns red. Indicator light failures: All the lights are off. The direction indicator light and the status indicator light are abnormal. The running Light (RUN) of the control board is not flashing. All the lights are flashing. When blocking the infrared detector, the infrared detector status indicator of the control board is still on. (1) All the lights are off. Cause Analysis: malfunction of wiring connection, power supply or main control board Troubleshooting Check whether the wiring connection and the power supply output are normal. If it is normal, then the main control board might be damaged and contact the manufacturer. If the wiring connection is abnormal, please fix the wiring connection. If the power supply is faulty, please contact the manufacturer. (2) The direction indicator and the status indicator is abnormal. Cause Analysis: malfunction of wiring connection, main control board or the direction indicator and the status indicator are damaged. Troubleshooting Check whether the wiring connection is normal, if it is abnormal, please fix the wiring connection; if the wiring connection is normal, then check whether the power supply of the direction indicator and the status indicator is normal; if normal, the direction indicator and the status indicator might be damaged; if abnormal, the main control board might be damaged, please contact the manufacturer. (3) The running Light (RUN) of the control board is not flashing. Cause Analysis: The main control board malfunctions or the toggle switch of the communication panel has been switched to UPDATE. Troubleshooting Check the toggle switch on the communication panel of the control board and make sure it is at WORK. And then restart the system. If the system still malfunctions, it proves the main control board might be faulty. Please contact the manufacturer. (4) All the lights are flashing.

Cause Analysis: Short circuit or the main control board is faulty. Troubleshooting Check whether there exists any short circuit. If yes, please rule out and fix the wiring connection. If no, then it proves the main control board might be faulty. Please contact the manufacturer. (5) When blocking the infrared detector, the infrared detector status indicator of the control board is still on. Cause Analysis: wiring connection of the infrared detector and the main control board, or infrared sensor malfunctions. Troubleshooting Check whether the wiring connection of the infrared detector and the main control board are normal, If it is abnormal, please fix the wiring connection. If it is normal, check whether the power supply of the infrared detector is normal; if it is normal, the infrared detector might be damaged, please contact the manufacturer. If the power supply of the infrared detector is abnormal, the control board might be damaged, please contact the manufacturer. 9.2 System Power Failure When standby, the POWER light on the main control board is normally on. The POWER light on the main control board is not ON. Cause Analysis: The contact chip of the power socket is loosened or damaged; the 110-220V/AC power cables are damaged. Troubleshooting Check whether the contact chip of the power socket is loosened or damaged. If yes, please repair or replace the socket. If the power socket is normal, please rule out whether the 110-220V/AC power cable is damaged. If yes, please replace the 110-220V/AC power cable. If the 110-220V/AC power cable is normal, please check whether the leakage protection switch is working normally. If not, please replace the leakage protection switch or contact the manufacturer. If the leakage protection switch is working normally, please check whether the output voltage of the power supply module is normal and contact the manufacture with the feedback. (2) The main control board doesn t electrify and the POWER light on the control board is not ON. Cause Analysis: The switch power supply is damaged, the wiring connection between the switch power supply and the main control board is faulty, or the main control board is faulty. Troubleshooting Check whether the switch power supply is damaged. If yes, please contact the manufacturer. If it is normal, please check whether the wiring between the switch power supply and the main control board is normal. If not, please repair the wiring

connection. If the wiring between the switch power supply and the main control board is normal, then it is possible that the main control board is faulty. Please contact the manufacturer. (3) The motor control board doesn t electrify and the power light LED1 & LED5 on the motor control board is not ON. Cause Analysis: The switch power supply is damaged, the wiring connection between the switch power supply and the motor control board is faulty, or the motor control board is faulty. Troubleshooting: Check whether the switch power supply is damaged. If yes, please contact the manufacturer. If it is normal, please check whether the wiring between the switch power supply and the motor control board is normal. If not, please repair the wiring connection. If the wiring between the switch power supply and the motor control board is normal, then it is possible that the motor control board is faulty. Please contact the manufacturer. Note: The above shows the common failures of the products. For troubleshooting methods of more failures, please refer to the special maintenance manual of the product.
