Imagine RBC 2010 The Plan

Creation of New Space The creation of a new Student Center will greatly relieve the demands on existing space. Currently 1,700 students, including both RBC and St. James Grammar School, share one gym. The new facility will more than double physical education space, will add a needed fitness center, two state of the art classrooms, locker rooms and storage space, which is currently non-existent, and will house the Alumni Hall of Fame and Trophy Room in a proper venue. The magnificent building will also serve as a focal point for the plan which creates a true campus. Highlights of the New Structure 31,000 square feet of space Allows for several, diverse physical education classes to take place simultaneously, allowing us to serve more students 2 state of the art classrooms equipped with advanced technology which can be combined to create a larger group meeting space 2,200 square foot fitness center equipped with the latest training equipment 2 physical education locker rooms 4 team rooms with 100 lockers each Tradition Hall - Our Hall of Fame A concession stand A potential $14,000 annual savings for St. James Grammar School which rents gym space for athletic teams Infrastructure upgrades including a new heating system for the entire plant. This was completed in September 07 and is expected to result in significant savings in heating costs.

The creation of this building calls for a reconfiguration of the parking lot. The plan addresses safety issues including a more efficient traffic pattern; a new, safer plan for boarding buses which also helps to ease local traffic; and designated pedestrian walkways. The campus will also have common areas and landscaping. Project Cost : $12 Million Projected Completion Date: 2010 Funding Source: Capital Campaign Greetings From Florida Red Bank Catholic Alumni living in Florida greeted Imagine RBC 2010 with typical Casey Spirit. We would like to thank all who welcomed campaign committee representatives with warmth and enthusiasm particularly Mr. and Mrs. William Kennedy, 57, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shanaphy, 55 and Mr. and Mrs. Don Casey who hosted wonderful events to rally support for the lasting green and matchless gold.

Renewal of Existing Space The Academic Center consists of the original building on Broad Street built in 1926, and the Cabrini Wing dedicated in 1966. Our plans call for phased renovations throughout the space. Every classroom will be upgraded and support spaces will be refinished to ensure that we are giving our students and parents tools for the times. The goal is to create an environment that facilitates the work of the students and faculty, and that fosters a feeling of community, historical continuity and common purpose. New Features Completed as of October of 07 Complete renovation of 3 classrooms * State of the art technology added to each * Each equipped with multi-media podium linked to all technology in room including lap top computer, DVD and VCR * Projection screen and amplified sound system * New windows and wooden blinds * Ceiling fans * New desks and instructional storage space for teachers * New student desks * Infrastructure upgrades including electric, ventilation and lighting A Gift From The Class of 82 The Class of 1982 celebrated a milestone reunion with a fundraising effort to refurbish a classroom. The class raised over $25,000 to renew a classroom which will be dedicated in honor of classmates they have lost. Congratulations and thank you to the Class of 82.

Complete renovation of library * Aesthetic upgrades include new paint, new carpet and new furniture * Student common areas added * A technology center was created for interactive distance learning with 28 workstations, a ceiling mounted projector and 2 flat screen LCD monitors * New book stacks * A second circulation desk was created for improved supervision and traffic flow Writing Lab * Creation of a dedicated center to assist students of all levels with writing projects * Resources, storage space and computers available * Staffed during every lunch period Teacher Prep Room * Collaborative meeting space * Equipped with computers and storage space for teachers A complete facelift for the Broad Street Auditorium * New green velvet stage curtains * New ceiling and ceiling fans * Art deco lighting fixtures * Proscenium arch highlighted with gold and silver leaf * Original maple floor refinished * Hand crafted library molding added to the bowed stage front * Custom ivory window treatments accent the arched windows The 50 s Remember Special Moments The Classes of the 50 s launched an initiative to refurbish the auditorium with a celebration called Moments to Remember. The event preceded a series of fund raising efforts orchestrated by the PTA that funded the complete renovation of the beautiful space. Future Features Every classroom will be upgraded aesthetically, acoustically, technologically and electrically. Every floor will have one classroom with the most advanced technology available Support space will be reconfigured and refurbished for ease of access and use The creation of more teacher work zones will answer the instructional storage and prep space needs of the majority of our teachers who do not have a home base Projected Completion Date: Ongoing Funding Source: Share the Promise, The Annual Fund

Securing Additional Space: A Partnership with the Community Red Bank Catholic is located in a culturally rich community. We looked for opportunities for our students within the town. We were able to secure exclusive daytime use of the beautifully renovated YMCA Cultural Center on Monmouth Street. Our Fine Arts classes are scheduled there every day and the flourishing Dance Program uses the upstairs which is a designated performing arts space.

This is our moment to be idealistic in the best sense of the word. Every generation has a responsibility to leave RBC better than they found it. We are resolved to get it right and that will take financial strength. ~ Robert Abatemarco Principal
