------------------------------------------------- CATALOG NO. 7628 Form No. Z21 0 Date 1-93 High Pressure Power Washer ASSEMBLY/OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS/PARTS ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: These washers are assembled by the factory except for the wheels, handle, and garden hose filter. Be sure the axle spacers are on each axle, then slide a wheel onto the axle, and secure in place with a hub cap, (Ref. No. 32). Mount the handle to the unit using (4) 1/4" X 1-1/2" hex screws, lock washers, and hex nuts. Insert the washer (#23) into the swivel nut, (#13). Note that the screen points outwards. Attaching a garden hose will hold the screen in place. OPERATING PROCEDURES: CAUTION: Do not exceed 1000 P.S.I. on Catalog No. 762B Washer. Exceeding this pressure will cause the washer to be overloaded. This will cause premature failure of this washer. The washer is designed so that the pump can draw solution from the tank, or by changing the 3-wayvalve, you can draw water from a garden hose supply hook-up. You may use this unit by inserting a cleaning solution in the tank, and then have a rinsing capability by attaching a garden hose to the unit. A garden hose may be attached by connecting the male threaded fitting on the hose to the female swivel nut fitting (#13) on the unit. NOTE: The inlet hose must be sufficient to supply a minimum of 3 gallons of water per minute at the pump. GENERAL INFORMATION: The purpose ofthis manual is to assist you in operating and maintaining your High Pressure Power Sprayer. Please read it carefully as it furnishes information which will help you achieve years of dependable trouble free operation. IMPORTANT: The following steps must be performed before attempting to start this washer. 1. Fill the pump crankcase with 8 fluid ounces of SAE 30 non-detergent oil. Crankcase oil should be changed after the first 50 hours of operation, then at regular intervals of 500 hours of operation or every year, whichever comes first. WARRANTY-PARTS-SERVICE: Your authorized dealer is the best source of replacement parts and service. To obtain prompt, efficient service, always remember to give the following information: 1. Correct part description and part number. 2. Catalog number. 3. Serial number. Part description and numbers can be obtained from the illustrated parts list section of this manual. GENERAL TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: 1-1 /2 Horse Power 1 Phase Electric Motor 115 Volt (13.6 Amps) 1000 P.S.I. 2.0 G.P.M. Direct drive oil lubricated pump. Maximum temperature of pumped fluids 1ao F. Pump crankcase capacity-a fluid ounces. Bypass valve protected system. SICUX TCCLSINC. 2. Connect your garden hose to the inlet connection on the pressure washer. IMPORTANT: The inlet hose should be sized for proper flow rate to the pump with no unnecessary restrictions that can cause cavitation. Cavitation can cause premature failure ofthe pump. Do Not Use: acids, alkaline, or abrasive fluids in the pump. Do Not run the pump dry for extended periods. IMPORTANT: Before turning on the water supply to the unit, be sure that you have locked off the trigger on the handgun. Turn on the water supply to the unit. Open trigger on the hand gun and allow water to reach the hand gun nozzle. After all air is purged from liquid lines the washer should be fully primed. WARNING: Before turning on electric power, the hand gun should be in the "ON" position, and have it firmly grasped in your hand. The high pressure washer is equipped with a pressure regulator/ unloadervalve. The regulator is factory set at 1000 P.S.I. This pressure may be adjusted downward if the operator desires. Lowering of pressure may be achieved by loosening the tension on the relief valve spring. This is achieved by turning the knurled adjusting knob counterclockwise. Reverse of this procedure will increase the pressure. 3. Turn on the electric motor switch and allow the washer to operate for a few minutes, and during this time open and close the handgun several times. The handgun on the washers is equipped with a variable pattern nozzle. This means that the pattern may be adjusted from a straight stream to a fan pattern. To adjustthe pattern, turn off the power to the washer. Pointthe handgun away from your body and everyone else. Loosen the brass hex nut at the nozzle end of the handgun, and this will produce a straight stream. Tightening the same hex nut will produce a fan pattern from the nozzle. NOTE: Straight stream will work best for cleaning heavy grease or dirt deposits. Fan pattern works best for general washing. 5. After use run pump dry for approximately 10 seconds to drain water from pump. The sprayer should be winterized before storage by pumping a 50 50 solution of waters and anti- freeze through the entire plumbing. Proper care and maintenance will prolong the life.
